I’m 14, and I train about 9-10 hours a week at most, sometimes do a few kids classes thrown in there, but not always. I mostly do adult classes, and mixed level classes. For some reason, since I’m still technically in the kids system, my adult classes aren’t counting towards my stripes in the system, apparently, so I’m confused. Should adult classes and kids classes combined count toward hours?

I don't know much about attendance / hours based stripes as we base our promotions of skill development. We do keep attendance for reasons other than promotions so any of our teens who are allowed to train with the adults also will check in to both classes as appropriate. I do know that increased training volume (additional classes) often accounts for accelerated growth in many cases so the credit is in the skill development!

Since it’s far more rare for kids under 16 to reach the GREEN levels, I have actually seen kids go from gray to green if they don’t have all of the tools to be a blue belt yet. In those situations, the green denotes an adult-level fighter who has surpassed white, but isn’t quite blue yet.
That is correct in regards to schools that use Green as an adult rank. However, I am speaking primarily in regards to schools that maintain the primary Adult Belt Ranks of White, Blue, Purple, Brown, and Black.
I cast no shade towards schools that use adult green belts, but we personally do not, nor is there an adult green belt category in competition... it is either white or blue.

That is generally correct - so long as your academy uses stripes (which most do)
im 14 and a white belt. i do 3 hours a week. i compete often,and im wondering when do you think i will get my yellow belt( if that even is possible before i turn 16) or what can i achive before that?
Thank you for the question, unfortunately I have no real way to answer. Promotion standards are always determined by your own academy instructor. Also, I do not know how long you have been training. At our academy a belt change will not be considered until a minimum of 9 months training, but often longer.
My thing is this: Let's say a student's 16th birthday is late in the year, say October - December. If he is awarded his Blue Belt in January of the year he turns 16, wouldn't he be at a disadvantage towards someone who's Birthday is earlier? How would you handle that considering IBJFF considered him 16 the entire year? Thanks.
Considering 16-17 compete together in IBJJF (Juvenile I) and most other competitions this is not relevant to me.
16 is the age of promotion to Blue Belt as a standard, so if you are not 16 we do not promote to Blue Belt.
I am 14 (15 in January) and have the full grey belt, I started in June. I do 3 hours a week at the moment, I have a friend in school that is 15 (6 months older) and does the adult class straight after I am finished my under 16s class. Should I join his adults class as well as my under 16s class?

While I don't know whether you would be eligible for an adult class (there are some 15 year olds I allow in our adult class, and others who I don't feel are ready yet.).
As far as mat time however, I believe the more mat time you have access to, the better you will get at Jiu-Jitsu. If you think your coach would allow you, take the chance and ask. Worst case scenario he says no... but you don't know until you ask!

What junior belt do you need to have in order to be promoted to blue belt at 16?
Any youth belt color can be promoted to Blue Belt at 16 years old, if the instructor feels you have met his requirements for blue belt.

I mean I can see it since to him in his training the green belt is the blue belt for kids... and it would make sense that after 2 years with a blue belt depending on skill that you could have 2 stripes on it...@@NXG_HQ
