Thank you for your review. I bought a pair, Bondi 7, and they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I didn't want to buy a diabetic shoe, (I don't have diabetes) but I wanted a shoe with a lot of cushion that would cradle my foot. I am able to stand longer and walk more supporting my weightloss goals. I have the women's wide and it is true to fit. Also, this is the first women's wide that truly fit my foot comfortably. Keep up the good work.
If you have foot pain or any issues and are on feet all day, especially if overweight. Get this shoe.. I switched from an Altra instinct old model and tried many Altra and gave up.. Altras are not for wide feet and they have messed up the whole line up. bondi 7 really helped me with my foot pain, a very bad one. People think bondi and Altra are very different.. if you look for shoes with minimal drop they both are similar except bondi has way more cushion. The right kind which doesn’t hurt your knees and stuff. Can’t comment on how good it is for running, it’s on the heavier side... cliftons may be the right one.. I have that as well but for being on feet all day bondi 7 is amazing shoe.. it also comes in bigger width.
I just got my Bondi 7's from your store in the mail yesterday, thank you so much! I cannot wait to wear them and try them out. I already know they are perfect just from trying them on inside. Your store is gorgeous and your company is amazing. Best customer service and fast shipping. Thank you again!
Just received my Hoka Clifton 7's and took them on a 4.2 mile test drive. Love them! Never owned a max cushion shoe before and I figured this model would be a good place to start. I was right. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship with Hoka's. Next experiment, the Mach 4.
I'm in my early sixties and running for about 5 months now, probably more of a shuffler than a runner (6min/Km) and I often scuff the soles so I have to be conscious to pick my feet up. I bought the Bondi 7 for comfort and to help protect my joints. I am running approx 15 - 20 km per week in these shoes over 2 or 3 sessions, I haven't bonded with them as running shoes, but I love them nonetheless. They're the Teal ones and I've had them for nearly 2 months. Thanks for info in this vid, enjoyed it.
Great breakdown! Your tip about the Gaviotta vs. the Bondi for underpronators/supinators is expert level advice. It really helps to have someone break it down in detail and made me a subscriber! Happy holidays.
Great review and analysis. I appreciate that you made detailed comparisons to other Hoka models because I was having trouble making a decision. Just placed my first order on your website!
Thanks for the great explanation of the Hoka range. Don’t want to be picky but it’s pronounced “bond eye”. It’s a beach side suburb in Sydney in Australia.
fabulous. Thanks for the great video. I have to watch it a few times just to make sure I get it all. I have had some heel pain but it's not a heel spur. My PT says it might be tendon related and I get a TON of pain in my Saucony Excursions but none in my Kinvaras. So now I'm into the world of Hoka and I'm a little lost between all this information as to which would be the best to protect my heel on daily walks on loose flat trails. I'm tied between all three since I do have a foot that turns to the outside a bit but I also want something that will protect my poor aching heel.
I may suggest another shoe based on what you are mentioning...The Hoka Challenger ATR. It's their all terrain shoe that is great on roads or gravel. It's build from the same last as a Clifton but more durable if you are on gravel and to me would be a better option to keep you from rolling out than the Bondi. I would peak at that but if you came into my shop with those issues it would be at the top of my list to try. Good luck!
Either one would be more than sufficient cushion, it just depends on how much shoe you're comfortable with. The Bondi is essentially a higher cushion version of the Clifton and, as a result, it is bulkier and heavier.
My wife and I are both looking to get into walking/running. We are 48 and 43 respectively. In our younger days, we were both athletes, but we do not get to work out the way we once did. We have found that we enjoy brisk walks through the neighborhood, with intermittent jogging mixed in. My wife's knees tend to hurt when we go out. I was looking for a shoe for both of us and after watching your review, I am thinking of going with the Bondi 7. My other thought was the New Balance freshfoam 1080v11. Considering our age and intended use, generally speaking, which shoe do you think would be better for us? By the way, your review is one of the best on youtube. You do a fantastic job of explaining!
Thank you for checking out the channel and review. Based on the current activity that are you doing, the Bondi sounds like a better option. The metarocker technology on Hokas is great for a run/walk combo.
I’ve been trying to decide between the Clifton 8 and Bondi 7. I want something for walking 5 miles a day and walking on the treadmill at the gym. Is there one you would recommend over the other for that? I have knee pains from bone Spurs from when I was overweight. I’m now 100 lbs lighter and need to find a good shoe.
I wore the bodi 6 for 7 months before the outsole smoothed out. I was practically in it for 10 hours per day, for 5 to 6 days per week. It felt really hard at first, nothing like the max cushion claims I read everywhere. It felt good after about two weeks. For comparison sake, I also find ultraboost to be hard. Currently wearing peak taichi. My next sneakers would be nike air zoom type. If I don't like the Nike, going back to hoka bondi, or might try out the graviota.
my same impressions... tried the bondi 7 and the 6. .. the 7 had Alittle give to it, certainly more than the gaviota which felt like it had zero cushion.... but i,d not say the bondi 7 felt plush, not at all.. now the bondi 6 Does feel pillow soft but is not comfortable,at least to me..how a soft shoe can be sore on the feet mystifies me..my heel aches and it aslo digs into the area after the arch
@@skip741x3 my next pair will be the new balance fresh foam more v3. If I don't like it, the nike invincible will be the one after. But I think the NB ffm v3 could be very good.
This shoe feel almost the same as it's trail shoe counterpart the Speedgoat 4, I owned both Bondi 7 n Speedgoat 4 wide version...never regret having these shoes.
@@ivankar7324 My feet size us10..I bought speedgoat us10 n the bondi us9.5 (last stock in shop), no problem in fitting except the insole feel kinda small in the bondi, but I solved it by using cushioning socks or swapping the Speedgoat insole to the bondi.
I really enjoyed the review. I’m currently looking to purchase new shoes. I last had a pair of basic ASICS. Currently trying to choose between Hoka Bondi 7, Clifton 8, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22, Ghost 14 and Ghost 15. I’m 5’10” tall and 250 lbs. I have high arches so I wear out the balls and heels of my shoes. I know these are all good shoes but man the choices are overwhelming. Any recommendations? The shoe would be for every day wear. Walking only on treadmills. Thank you in advance.
Really good video. I’ve been running in the Clifton’s but feel they break down after about 250 miles. I think I’ll try the Bondi next time. I’m 6 ft tall and 185 lbs.
I bought the clifton 7s but I needed to return them because my foot was too wide and they didnt have wide at the store. Ended up getting these in wide. They feel great for me.
From all the review about the bondi I have watched, yours is the best. Well explained in every detail and even some ideas on how to pick the right shoe. Kudos for you. Will definitely subscribe.😁
It would be interesting to see a separate video about the width. For example is 4E wider in the entire foot or is there mainly more toe room? I'm just looking for that widest toe spread for myself. (Escalante 1.5 -- my toe is pushing out on that softest material stretching it!). So I'm very interested in the widest hoka for toe room and that cushioned bottom! Is there a Black Friday special?
Really great review! Do you think the Bondi is a better choice than the Clifton for a first time marathoner shooting for a 4:00-4:15? I’m enjoying the Clifton 7 but wondering if the Bondi might be worth using the first time covering a distance like that.
I sure do. That’s the perfect shoe to try that would be a nice upgrade in cushion for a full. You could always use the Clifton for everyday runs and go with the Bondi on the longer runs and race day too. Good luck on the training and full!
I have the purple bondi 6. I might ask for the 7 in the turquoise color in a womans size 8 for Christmas. I actually have a question. Which hoka would you recommend for medium arches? I do have pain on the balls of my feet.
Thanks for checking out the reviews. Both the Bondi and Paradigm are max cushion shoes. However, the Paradigm is more stable than the Bondi and is for those who overpronate whereas the Bondi is a neutral shoe.
Do you have the old bondi 7 with the rainbow color? It’s more like Blue, green, red and yellow. They looked beautiful but can’t seem to locate any of those.
Thanks for information my favorite shoe used to be the Salomon mission it seemed to outlast other shoes. I just walk approximately 4 miles a day on hard surfaces. Have a recommendation for a similar shoe. When I tried the Hoka Bondi 7 seems like I'm walking in sand
Thanks so much! The new adrenaline comes out November of this year. Well for sure have a full breakdown of that one when we get closer too. Thanks for watching.
Do you think k that’s the new Bondi 8 is too, soft or squishy compared to the Bondi 7? I have the 8’s but I just ordered the 7. I like soft but I want more stability and response or spring to my walking or slow jogging. I’m just starting to walk lot to get in shape. What’s your opinion on the difference?
Great Video, you hit all the important points and are very informative. What's your opinion on comparing the Altra Paradigm 5 (which I currently have) and the Bondi 7. Thanks for your input and opinion.
Thank you for checking out our review. The Paradigm and Bondi are both in the max cushion category, however, the Paradigm is a much more stable shoe because of the guiderails. The Bondi is just what we classify as a neutral shoe. Hope this helps.
Hi I weigh 90+ kg will Bondi 7 will be good pick for daily runs upto 10 kms alternate can buy Rocket X as well as all purpose shoes. On Nike Pegasus 38 I could feel jerks and shin and knee hurt as well as heel sore can't handle stable pace so want to swap. Am Normal Arch and forefoot striker toes almost the high heel drop in Nike wasn't favourable it seems.
Steve, enjoy the information. I'm a huge supinator, ankle injury from high school. Never overcame it. Also have bad knees. Which Hoka would you suggest? Had the Bondi 6. Of course it was comfortable, but over time, didn't really feel all the love for the shoe and it didn't curtail my knee pain too much. Appreciate your suggestion. Also, the Bondi 6 ripped on the right seem after only six months. Used mostly for walking.
I really don't like the Bondi for a big supinator. I know technically this is a neutral shoe and should be good for supination but after seeing and fitting people I think the Gaviota is the better shoe to correct supination. It's firmer but the J-Frame stability design helps bring you in from outside. You should also maybe look at the Altra Paradigm. It's a great big cushioned shoe for walking/running that has some great lateral support. Good luck!
I have to say you have the best video about the bondi 7. All other channels video about this shoe aren’t as informative. Quick question, I love my Clifton 7s (Original with no pull tab). I’m looking for another pair of shoes to switch with. I don’t have great knees, so should I get another pair of Clifton 7s or should I go for the Bondi 7?
Thank you for checking out our reviews. Both shoes are great. The Bondi does provide more cushion than the Clifton however, because of that it is also a little heavier. I think it would be a nice option to rotate with but you can't go wrong with the Clifton as well. Hope this helps.
Hi! This video is a year old, not sure if you'll see this, buuuuttt...question. I have tried the Clifton and now the Bondi. I like this better for being on my feet all day. However, I have very high arches. Hard to find sneakers. Is there a Hoka that has more arch support than another that might work for me? Or another brand, for that matter, that gives max cushion with higher arch? Thanks!
Thanks for the great review. I have been alternating between the Altra Paradigm 4.5 and the Topo Phantom and was experiencing pain in both the lateral part of my left foot as well as the ball of my foot. I got a pair of Bondi 7s last week and put in a 4 mile walk the next day with no discomfort at all. This is a great neutral shoe with plenty of comfort cushioning for us folks with older feet. I also don't understand, but not changing anything but my shoes took almost 2 minutes per mile off my walking pace. I guess due to discomfort I must have been shortening my stride and slowing my pace to ease the pain.
That's fantastic! We are so glad you found the right shoe for you. The rolling motion of the Bondi may have increased your stride efficiency, making you go a little quicker.
@@RunMoore On two consecutive walks of about the same distance my time was consistent and was about 2 minutes quicker per mile. Crazy. Thanks again for your great reviews. If I was in your area, I would definitely buy local from you...but I have bought one pair online from your store. Keep up the great work and the great reviews so we know what will work best for us.
Paradigm 5.0, Bondi 7, Endorphin Shift. Looking at one of these for my easy day/daily trainer. Do you have a preference (if you’ve run in all 3). Would be interested in your views. Thanks for the videos 👍
Awesome video, thanks for explaining the models. Can you do the same for Altra shoes? Love to see a video on what shoes for 10k, 1/2 marathon and marathon in altra and Hoka
I actually am planning on doing a 2021 Altra breakdown of all the models coming out next year with some chat about distances on them and such. We hope to do it later this fall. Thanks for watching!
typically wide stable hoka. ...although it took a while to get used to the high stack. um. interesting to hear your commentary as usual. compared to the lower stacked hoka's it feels to me to be pretty bouncy. has depth of 'firm' cushion which for me provides the shock absorption for longer distance. as you'd expect ground feel is pretty much zero for these, but that is not what these are about. i use them for the depth of cushion.... and are they responsive? to me they are; it's all relative. hoka's midsole composition is pretty unique for me. I've had some trouble finding the right sizing. i can wear a 13 regular or a 12 2E - perhaps even a 12.5 2E - which I haven't tried but I'm thinking of ordering to try the fit. 11-4e is still too narrow for my foot. perhaps an 11.5 4E ? you see with so many options it is hard to find the best fit ;-) I've just had to go through the sizes....
I've been through a variety of shoes. I'm at a loss at what to try next. Quick recap; 2017 coached myself, pr at every event I finished. June 2018 right hip, Birmingham hip put in. Hip flexors hurt way too long. Never got to decent mileage as I was doing triathlon training. Oct. 2020, left ... Birmingham hip as I had no cartilage. Ok. What shoe would you recommend?
I would like to add: if you suffer from poaterial tibial tendonitis( I am), pls give bondi 6 or 7 a try. Its the only shoe works for my problem. It sooth and lessen the pain while on my feet. I wear my ankle support (one that wrap around) with my bondi for extra support of my arch. No i dont have plantar fasciitis problem.
I’m 6 foot two, 190 pounds. I roll my feet a little bit on the outside. I run many miles on the road. Personally, and maybe it’s the way that my legs are somewhat bowed at the shin, but I love running on clouds. I hate the feel of the road. Brooks Ghost was a bad decision. Can’t wait for my Bondi 7’s
This is a great review. Here is a question: 50 year old high school teacher, standing on my feet all the time. Really overweight (130 kg) and I am looking for a shoe that will be cushioned enough for my feet and knees. Is Bondi 7 the one? Are there better alternatives? With my weight I think Bondi is better then Clifton which probably won't last that long supporting my weight, but I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, keep up the good work.
For standing on your feet all day, the Bondi is one of our most popular shoes. It is the max cushion shoe from a max cushion brand so it holds up to long days. It would likely be a great option for you. Other shoes that would be good options are the Altra Paradigm and Diadora Vigore (which runs big). Hope this helps!
@@RunMoore thanks for the reply. Here is another one really important question: If I had to choose between Hoka Clifton 8 and Bondi 7, what would be a better choise? Again, 50 year old, 130kg, high school teacher, with long hours standing on the blackboard. I want my shoes to be soft and cushioned enough so that my knees and feet get minimum stress. I tried them both and Cliftons seemed softer, but will they last? I won't run with either, they are to be worn in a classroom. thank you so very much for any response. Keep up the good work! (I already subscribed, when it is time for me to start the long walks I so much desire, this will be my go to source of info for a new choise)
Hi! I really need help. I'm not a runner but love to walk and unfortunately have walked less because I can't find the right shoes. Several years ago I had plantar fasciitis that went away but then had a tendon on the inside of the same ankle flare up. I also have a moderate bunion on that foot. I believe I have a moderate to high arch with a high instep and overpronate some. I started wearing the Birkenstock Arizona this summer A LOT. I think it really helped my feet quite a bit. When I walked, I used the New Balance 840 V4 with my Spenco Total support insert for awhile but it really lacks any cushioning and the short tongue hurts the top of my foot where my ankle bends. I wear an 8.5 wide in that shoe. I tried the Dyad 11 and it fit like a dream on the top and the heel but the bottom was really too hard on my feet with no flex. Also wore an 8.5 wide in that shoe. I tried the Altra Paradigm 5. Loved how the cushion felt on that shoe but it fit way too small. I'm pretty sure the Hokas don't feel good or fit on the top of my foot unless they have changed. Can you please guide me to a shoe that may fit my feet? You can't imagine how frustrating it is to not be able to walk as much as I want because of this. Thank you in advance!!!!
WOW!! Awesome informative review. So sad I don't live closer to your location. I'm trying to decide between the Bondi 7 or the Gaviota 2. Which would be the better choice & longer lasting for someone who suffers from lower back injuries, skier's knees & is now overweight who desperately wants to get back out there back into my usual fully active life? The Bondi 7 was highly recommended for me but they didn't know much about the Gaviota 2. What are your expertise thoughts or do you have any other recommendations? Any thoughts on something from the New Balance Fresh Foam series (eg. 1080 V10, Fresh Foam Evare, or others)? BTW - I'm on my feet a lot, very hard on shoes, and now carrying extra weight, unfortunately. Look forward to your response. Thank You
Thank you for checking out the reviews. While all those options are great choices we have seen great success with the Gaviota for those struggling with some knee and back issues. The Bondi and even the 1080 overall will feel softer than the Gaviota but neither can compare to the structure that the J-frame provides on the Gaviota. Hope this helps!
@@RunMoore Thank you so much for your reply. Looks like I'm going to have to wait for new releases as everyone seems to be out of my size. I'll be watching out for your new reviews. Cheers
Steve am a Brooks Adrenaline fan(just got the 21's), but my brother is recommending both the Bondi 7 and Arahi 4. Am trying both to see if they can provide more cushion. am a walker and weight lifter, no more running for me at 69yo. Thought's? BTW I have had foot surgery so looking for more cushion.
If you're looking for more cushion the Hoka Bondi 7 is definitely the way to go. The Arahi 4 will be closer to the Brooks Adrenaline with the support it offers but it doesn't have nearly as much cushion as the Bondi 7. Let me know if you have any further questions!
So I’m just coming back from a calf injury and looking for something really Cushioned to protect my calf as I start to build a good base. Any recommendations in clifton vs Bondi? Or even the bondi X?
We do not recommend the Bondi X as an everyday trainer because the carbon plating makes it much stiffer. It is more of a marathon racer. Between the Bondi and Clifton, that depends on how much cushion you want. The Clifton is much lighter and more flexible while still providing great cushion, but the Bondi is a max cushion shoe. Typically the Clifton is more popular as a runner and the Bondi as a walker, but we have runners who love the Bondi.
Steve, I have issues with my plantar fasciitis flaring up in Hokas as opposed to not flaring up in Brooks. Is this something you see from your customers?
PF is so weird. There never seems to be a rhyme or reason as to why one brand works better than another. I’ll have someone come in that swears brand X fixed their pf and the next customer will say that same brand caused it for them. My Mom is one of the people that swears Hoka has fixed her PF and won’t wear anything but Hoka. I think it’s much more in your experience than anything else. If Brooks work for you than don’t fight it.
That would be your closest Brooks to this shoe. If you’re dealing with some PF and wanted something big cushioned like the Glycerin but maybe just a little arch, check out the Transcend. It’s built on the same last and cushion as the glycerin but with the guide rails and support like the Adrenaline. Be a good one to investigate as well.
great review bro.. i tried the bondi 7 and bondi 6 and gaviota at the store.. I came in saying I want soft! my heels were killing me and I needed relief.. i also supinate quite a bit and have Flat feet, which i guess is odd..the gaviota felt like bricks, wayy too hard and not what i had heard about as far as hoka softness.. tried the bondi 7 and felt some of that softness that hokas speak of..i wasnt sure it was enough softness though and went with the bondi 6.. Now that version Does feel like pillows on the feet.. im using them for 1st couple of days and impressions are Not good.. they feel draining, tiring to walk with..They dont energize ur step, and i wanted that..Instead they feel like im either standing in a flatfooted stance with no rise at the rear to propel u forward or they can even feel slightly depressed at the rear..kinda like when u see a car that has sacked out rear springs and sits lower in the back...thats what the stance feels like wearing these.. so they feel like they take lots of effort to have momentum and there is no spring in the step to add to momentum, instead they feel llike they are absorbing ur energy and not in a good way..they also feel like they dont ahve good stability and i ride on the outer edges and supinate...I was thinking maybe the bondi 7 May have been a better choice after all but desire for max soft led me to the 6 version. Im also feeling pain in the area on the inside edges right after the arch area, right where the seam is..very unconfortable, and im just walking no even running.. what do u think about the bondi 6 and are bondi's even the best choice for someone , age 61, who doesnt even jog or walk more than a mile at a time..I supinate and need a soft heel.. i also want a shoe that Adds energy to my stride, not sap it. I like the feeling of the shoe aiding forward momentum and not needing so much effort from me to do so..my old new balance were so bad that I couldnt even walk a block in them without severe pain so im coming to any new shoe with badly messed up feet in alot of pain.
So, the Bondi is a neutral shoe, so it won't give you great support if you supinate. The Gaviota 3 would ideally be the right shoe because it is more supportive than the Bondi. It is tough because the Gaviota is a max cushion shoe, so if it doesn't have enough cushion for you, it is going to be hard to find something with more cushion than that.
Love the video so if you where looking at the bondi 7 Clifton 7 gaviota 2 for someone with a bad back and metatarsal pain and not really running coming from new balance 990 v4 which one of the 3 would you suggest and what would be the 2nd choice in hoka? I'm a 5'11 around 250
Thanks for watching. The Gaviota is the closest to your NB and probably the best option for you. It’d rank them Gaviota, Bondi then Clifton. Plus it’s pretty forgiving in the toe box and comes in widths if needed. Hope that helps and good luck!
@@RunMoore i haD one last question the gaviota good for heavy person around 250 5 ft 11 also I saw pics and nit sure how true gaviota tread wears fast? again just standing and walking thanks
@@mikerobbins4138 Hoka's in general do wear down a little bit faster than some of our other brands. They tend to have a lot of exposed foam spots that can get eaten up fast, especially on like gravel. However, of the Hoka lineup, I would say the Gaviota is probably the most durable. If you are just using them for everyday standing and walking I think it would be a fine option.
How does the extra wide compare in the toe box area of my pinky sticks out? How is it compared to the Altra paradigm 5 for example toe box room? Both have about the same cushion? I like a wide toe box and tons of cushion so I'm looking at bondi7, paradigm 5 and Torin plush 4.5.
Thanks for checking out our reviews. Of the 3 the extra-wide Bondi has the most room. The Paradigm is wide but doesn't offer as much room for the pinky toe as the extra-wide Bondi. Hope this helps.
Well hopefully in the future they'll add some lively colors with the yellow and dark blue and not this boring black and grey. But I might try one until that happens for the 4E with more room around the pinky toe.
If you are interested in a Hoka, I would recommend checking out the Challenger ATR GTX model. It is a great trail option from Hoka that comes in a waterproof option.
would you recommend the bondi 7 for someone with arthritis/stiffness in big toe? I don't want a tight shoe but i also dont want it to be too bendy at the front.
The Bondi has a pretty stiff platform and provides a rolling motion in the step that is generally good for people who experience agitation when their big toes bend. I think this could be a good opion for you.
If you are looking for something that offers the highest amount of cushion, then I would recommend either the Gaviota or the Bondi. These are the two maximum cushion models offered by Hoka. The Gaviota is the stability model and the Bondi is the neutral model.
i am a nurse and i underpronate. i have tried so many shoes and i'm done with big names. i want to try hoka. i work 12 hrs. so should i get a gaviota or a bondi 7?
Hi thank you for checking out our reviews. Hoka's are a great option if you are a nurse. While both shoes would work for your under pronation, we have seen great success with the Gaviota helping under pronation. Hope this helps.
Is Bondi 7 more stable in heel than Gaviota 3? I’m looking for a daily working shoe with extra space in the front of the shoe and good stability I heel.
The Bondi 7 has maximum cushioning, a 4mm drop and a stack height (heel/toe) of 31/27mm for the women and, 33/29mm for the men. The Clifton 7 has an early stage meta-rocker, a 5mm drop and a stack height of 27/22mm for the women and 29/24mm for the men. hope this helps!
The Bondi 7 is actually one of our most popular shoes for nurses who are working long shifts because of the fantastic cushion and high arch profile that provides support. If you require extra arch support or if you pronate, I would recommend looking into the Hoka Gaviota.
my friend dave is a graphic designer and he made us a poster for our new store! he does all of our logos as well, I think he based it off an altra shoe

Great descriptions here and I love the way you had other Hokas to give comparisons. Way more information than I expected. Thank you!
I need someone right now who knows all about shoes & I just found this video...AND you are about 30 minutes from me. It's a good day!

It really helps to have someone break it down in detail and made me a subscriber! Happy holidays.
Great review and analysis. I appreciate that you made detailed comparisons to other Hoka models because I was having trouble making a decision. Just placed my first order on your website!
Thank you!
So glad I got the Bondi 7 instead of Clifton 7! My goal was the most durability and highest mileage! Bondi all the way!!! Most shoe for money!
which shoe has higher heel bondi7 or Clifton7 or other model?? please help.
@@rosenthaldiscount the clifton has a flared out heel. The bondi has a memory foam heel that cradles your heel
Great review you helped me decide which shoe is best. The best Hoka review I’ve seen and heard. Thanks
Thanks for the great explanation of the Hoka range. Don’t want to be picky but it’s pronounced “bond eye”. It’s a beach side suburb in Sydney in Australia.
Straight, clear, and to the point. Thank you, you helped me decide which version to buy. Subbed
How does the bondi 7 compare to the new balance fresh foam more 3. ? Is the more 3 rocker stiff like the bondi ?
Good luck!
So for someone whos 145 lbs which shoe would be better for comfort/most cushion for walking mostly and a little running? The bondi 7 or clifton 8?
The Bondi 7 is my go to shoe.
I tried both the bondi 7 on and the clifton, and the bondi felt softer and more plush.
which shoe has higher heel bondi7 or Clifton7 or other model?? please help.
Hi, i also have a speedgoat 4 wide. Do you feel the Bondi 7 is wide enough? In speedgoat 4 wide i have to upsize from 9 (2E) to 10 (2E).
@@ivankar7324 I suggest you buy the same size as the Speedgoat 4 if you comfortable with the sizing.
Great explanation of the Hoka lineup.
And one take. Awesome

@@RunMoore Don't worry about an F-bomb. Be honest :)
Love my Hokas and loved your excellent review!
Sounds like a good plan, you will definitely get some more longevity out of the Bondi.
I bought the clifton 7s but I needed to return them because my foot was too wide and they didnt have wide at the store. Ended up getting these in wide. They feel great for me.
do you think bondi is better than de clifton?
@@acorrep3714 for me it is because I'm older and it's really good on my joints.
From all the review about the bondi I have watched, yours is the best. Well explained in every detail and even some ideas on how to pick the right shoe. Kudos for you. Will definitely subscribe.😁
Thanks for watching!
Is there a Black Friday special?
i have that same question... i have the bondi 6 in 2E width.. toe area is ok but the area around instep and heel feels too tight and not wide enough
Stay with the Clifton even on long distances like marathons,,Bondi is way too heavy and I would recommend it only for very heavy runners..
I have the purple bondi 6. I might ask for the 7 in the turquoise color in a womans size 8 for Christmas. I actually have a question. Which hoka would you recommend for medium arches? I do have pain on the balls of my feet.
Thanks much Steve for detailed explanation ... Question : Altra Paradigm 5 vs Bondi 7 ..are they similar shoes
It’s more like
Blue, green, red and yellow.
They looked beautiful but can’t
seem to locate any of those.
This is such a good and informative review. Keep it up!
Steve, your shoe video's are the best. When is the new Adrenaline 21 coming out?
Good luck!
Much appreciated for the insight and response.

Will the bondi be more stable prevent over pronation as opposed to Clifton 7 ?
Awesome video, thanks for explaining the models. Can you do the same for Altra shoes? Love to see a video on what shoes for 10k, 1/2 marathon and marathon in altra and Hoka
I actually am planning on doing a 2021 Altra breakdown of all the models coming out next year with some chat about distances on them and such. We hope to do it later this fall. Thanks for watching!
Run Moore thanks for replying, I’m hoping the Timp 2.5 will be out soon and back to the old shape 🙏 The Timp 2.0 were terribly narrow.
typically wide stable hoka. ...although it took a while to get used to the high stack. um. interesting to hear your commentary as usual. compared to the lower stacked hoka's it feels to me to be pretty bouncy. has depth of 'firm' cushion which for me provides the shock absorption for longer distance. as you'd expect ground feel is pretty much zero for these, but that is not what these are about. i use them for the depth of cushion.... and are they responsive? to me they are; it's all relative. hoka's midsole composition is pretty unique for me.
Thank you... Very informative and you answered some of my questions!
Hi there. Love you're chanel. If I want to buy the bondi 7, my normal shoe size is UK9, what size do you recommend for running?
The conversion on Hoka's shoes is a UK9 is a US10
I've been through a variety of shoes.
Hope they work well for you!
@@ThanosNikolopoulos Cliftons are softer, but the Bondi has substantially more cushion, so it is generally preferred for long periods of standing.
It was great chatting with you the other day, good luck on your shoe journey.

Thank you sir!!
So would you recommend the Glycerin as the closest Brooks shoe to the Bondi?
That would be your closest Brooks to this shoe. If you’re dealing with some PF and wanted something big cushioned like the Glycerin but maybe just a little arch, check out the Transcend. It’s built on the same last and cushion as the glycerin but with the guide rails and support like the Adrenaline. Be a good one to investigate as well.
I have a high arch and do not over pronate. Would the Adrenaline and Transcend still work for me?
@@dukebb2274 Yes, even if you don't over-pronate you would still be fine in the Adrenaline and Transcend.
Excellent and very helpful review.

Thx! I have Bondi 6 tho not a ton of running but want to run more & I have a titanium rod, a plate & 6 pins in my left femur. Should I go for the 7?!
If you've had luck with the Bondi 6, the Bondi 7 would be a great option.
I have really bad knee problems when I run. What would be a good shoe to help with that?
great review bro.. i tried the bondi 7 and bondi 6 and gaviota at the store..
I wanna try the Bondi 7 and Clifton 7 before I choose one for more comfort, stability and light weight!
If a person has a neutral gait will it cause problems if they wear a stability shoe?
Love the video so if you where looking at the bondi 7 Clifton 7 gaviota 2 for someone with a bad back and metatarsal pain and not really running coming from new balance 990 v4 which one of the 3 would you suggest and what would be the 2nd choice in hoka? I'm a 5'11 around 250
Thanks for watching. The Gaviota is the closest to your NB and probably the best option for you. It’d rank them Gaviota, Bondi then Clifton. Plus it’s pretty forgiving in the toe box and comes in widths if needed. Hope that helps and good luck!
Thank you

@@RunMoore i haD one last question the gaviota good for heavy person around 250 5 ft 11 also I saw pics and nit sure how true gaviota tread wears fast? again just standing and walking thanks
@@mikerobbins4138 Hoka's in general do wear down a little bit faster than some of our other brands. They tend to have a lot of exposed foam spots that can get eaten up fast, especially on like gravel. However, of the Hoka lineup, I would say the Gaviota is probably the most durable. If you are just using them for everyday standing and walking I think it would be a fine option.
I have wide feet and love both the Bondi and Clifton in a wide width.
Your video is very informative. Thank you!

would you recommend the bondi 7 for someone with arthritis/stiffness in big toe? I don't want a tight shoe but i also dont want it to be too bendy at the front.
The Bondi has a pretty stiff platform and provides a rolling motion in the step that is generally good for people who experience agitation when their big toes bend. I think this could be a good opion for you.
I’m stuck in between the Gaviota and Bondi, I need good shoes for work, especially for someone like me with a bigger frame.
I would go with the Gaviota. It is a more structured shoe than the Bondi but it is still is considered a max cushion shoe.
You do the best reviews.
Thank you so much!
Another excellent review!
Thanks so much!
What kind of Hoka shoe would you recommend for someone that’s overweight?
If you are looking for something that offers the highest amount of cushion, then I would recommend either the Gaviota or the Bondi. These are the two maximum cushion models offered by Hoka. The Gaviota is the stability model and the Bondi is the neutral model.
How about breathability? I love the 6, but it gets hot .. Is the 7 better ventilated ?
Yes it is but only mildly. It’s not nearly as breathable as some other Hokas but it is more breathable than the 6 in my opinion.
Which one is better between Bondi and Clifton for a Hospital worker that are on feet all day?
The Bondi is our most popular shoe among healthcare workers. It has more cushion and has a little more structure than the Clifton.
i am a nurse and i underpronate. i have tried so many shoes and i'm done with big names. i want to try hoka. i work 12 hrs. so should i get a gaviota or a bondi 7?

Can you recommend a shoes for nurses who work 12 hour shift .
The Bondi 7 is actually one of our most popular shoes for nurses who are working long shifts because of the fantastic cushion and high arch profile that provides support. If you require extra arch support or if you pronate, I would recommend looking into the Hoka Gaviota.
Can you review the ON Cloud shoes?
We have a lot of shoes on our docket right now, but we will definitely consider doing an ON Cloud review in the future!
