I think they are missing a lot of sales by not offering more colors and wide widths in the shoes. Your videos are always done well. Thanks !
Just purchased a pair. Can't wait to try them while going out for my walk. I've opened a couple pair of the 7. Hopefully these are just as comfortable. Love the look. And especially like the extra cushion.
Great review! ! I pronounce the name "Bondee" as well. I bought the Bondi 8 thinking it would be a cushy feeling shoe, but it felt very firm and hard. Didn't feel soft at all. Maybe it's just my feet. The Arahi 6 feels better for my feet. But everyone's different.
i've been running all week with the new 8 and I gotta say your review is honest and accurate.... compared to the 7 imo this new version feels very fluffy, but it has been delightful!!
Does it have a more glider rocker style to keep the pressure off the toes? I’m used to running in ASICS gel Nimbus and the ASICS gel cumulus that I have really bad joint pain in my big toe. I read somewhere that the Hoka bondi is good forhallux rigidus.
To me, the color choices are poor and too limited. I want a pair of Bondi 8's to switc off with my glycerin 20's but can't seem to settle on a color, because I don't like the limited muted options....I know I'll settle on one because I want these shoes !!!!
As nurse who's 265 lbs, 6'3, I have a bit of weight to carry for 13 to 14 hrs a day. I absolutely loved the cushioning of these shoes more than any other shoe i've tried, only rivaled by the new balance fresh foam V4. Unfortunately, all three hoka style shoes I've tried are built in a way that caused static electric build up and caused me to get shocked 2 to 3 times a day while at work when I touch any metal at various times. So I had to return these as well as I had to with the other hoka styles I tried prior. Also, the arch rode up a little and would rub and irritate the inside of my feet after a few hours of walking in them.
I have had two pair of bondi 7's.I love them .They saved me from my plantar fasciitis.I have recently had another flare up.I bought the bondi 8 and to me the 7's seem like they are much softer with the cushion.I do not like the 8's as it doesnt give me the walking on cloud feeling like the 7's do.
I'd like to see how long it lasts compared to the 7. I burned holes into the side fabric at 3 months of daily wear. Great construction with everything else. But the internal fabric really let me down. I probably walk about between 5-10 miles a day on average. Beats the hell out of all other max cushion shoes, but until the 8 gets some longevity testing, I'm sticking with the 7 at a lower price. Also 4E can't be found in stores. I had to order online direct. It's a real PITA to go to every store and have fk all in my size, even though they make it.
I bought my first HOKA from your store and I was very pleased with it. I'm in the medical field and I'm on my feet a lot. I bought a pair of HOKAs for my husband this thanksgiving weekend. He's excited to try it.
Great to read the comments. FYI Bondi is pronounced 'Bon-DAI' or 'Bond - Aye - Like the famous beach in Australia... Guess I'm one of the persnickety ones but hey - pronouncing a name is generally something folks try to get right, i.e., the way the person who has the name wants it to be pronounced! Don't worry, you get used to the correct way quickly!
I agree, I’ve been wearing the same pair of Bondi 7’s for 4 years now, I’m a painter, 4 yrs, 10 hrs a day & they’re still super comfortable. I also have a pair of Bondi 8’s & for me they’re stiffer & harder & not nearly as comfortable as the 7’s. I’m very upset that they stopped making the 7’s
Recently ran a half marathon with these. Not a bad ride but felt as an heel striker, it would not give the forward momentum that I wanted. Although they are good for recovery runs.
I wish the shoe salespeople in Australia were as knowledgable as you. Americans just seem to be a more passionate people compared to us. Our salespeople don't even know what they're talking about. I'm training to climb mount everest and have been looking to optimise my shoes because I walk and run so much that my feet constantly ache. I might try the bondi 8. Thanks for being thorough and knowledgable about your products. What shoe do you wear most days Steve?
I have a pair of bondi7 with a year and 1100km and no major wear. They’re not as comfy as they were, but still better than my Nike ones. They were my first Hoka and the next ones will be bondi, clifton or mafate speed. Big thanks to Hoka to let me run everyday with no pain at all.
I've been using the Bondi 7 for roughly 150km. They are great for recovery runs and for people that overpronate. I was told I needed to wear a stable shoe because I op. After years of running in pain while in a stable shoe I decided to try the Bondi 7. This shoe has the heal and midfoot support I needed without the stupid stiff post other shoes like Saucony use and it's been heaven. In short the Bondi 7 is great for the days you want a nice comfortable run up to around 12km but the shoe is too heavy for longer runs.
Hello I seriously ripped and damaged the ligaments off the bone of my ankle. Also caused trumor to my feet It's definitely not a nice feeling. The amazing podiatrist doctor that I see has helps me alot and still continues at the start i was so scared to see him cause he would grab my foot and manipulate it stretch it out to the point i would be crying and screaming so much like ive lost everything in this world then to know he has to do it again straight away would fear me well still sometimes yet the outcome of doing that makes it better it's been quite a challenge. This i will have to deal with pretty much for the rest of my life. So I was told to bye hoka 8 wide foot for walking also new balance were highly recommended so I would love to bye a few pair . Pls where to go to bye them and what sheo runner is best for my foot. Thanks a million
I bought the clifton 8 but was looking for the bondi. The bondi 7 wide felt tight in the toe box. If its wider the new bondi I will give it a 2 chance. The clifton is great. Want to look at the new paradigm from altra. Had a past version and also great shor and did not need a wide for that shoe. Great reviews.
Great call on how people refer to one model of hoka and just call it a hoka! This is the nurse shoe from my facility as it is comfortable and nurses love them since they’re walking around or standing around on their feet a lot. ❤
Thank you for the video! Ive looked at getting a pair of Hokas for years, I have had them recommended many times. I have some foot issues and its so hard to find shoe with the cushion and support. I think Im going to go try these on at a local store now.
Love the reviews! Could you review some Hoka trail models? Full trail and road to trail for long distance and which ones would be better for a pronator?
My softest Hoka was my first pair of Arahi. Nothing has had that squishy goodness since. That being said… as for longevity… I’m at 600 miles in my Bondi 7s. They’re going to get a few more miles too… I’m saving up but can’t decide tween the 8 or the x. Decisions decisions.
its interesting, becuase I found the hokas (clifton and blade) have been super resilient - I would never have expected them to last this long with high mileage and my weight (6'3ft)
I was thinking on buying these but I can't seem to pull the trigger to buy them if they're not going to last long. $150 - $200 on a pair of shoes that may last a couple of months is a bit crazy to me, but it was a very informative review so thanks for that.
I hear you. Especially the Nike brand shoes. But I’m training for a half marathon and then a marathon so I need comfort on my recovery days so I just bought them. Feel like running on clouds
@@TheRealTommyShelby well the fact that you "think" that these shoes would help with someone's bad foot or knees just proves your lack of actual intellect. 🤔 🤦♂️
Great video! I appreciate your detailed analysis of this shoe. I’ve been running in the Arahi and love the cushion. I supinate severely though and wonder if I should try the Bondi with an orthotic. Any advice?
Resillience has actually two meanings. While it means durability in everyday language in sport research it means higher energy return. So what meaning did Hoka adopt ? Is it really more durably by being softer ?
Thank you so much for this great review. Which one would you suggest between the Clifton 8 and the Bondi 8 for a wide feet with plantar fasciitis? Thanks in advance and have a great day!
Between those two, the Bondi. However, I would check out the Hoka Gaviota 4 as well. That is more stable in the arch and also comes in wide. Good luck!
I got the Gaviota and immediately retuned it. It was my first HOKA shoe and it was a huge disappointment. It had a lot cushioning but it felt very hard and stiff. I thought that lots of cushioning equates to softness.
The Gaviota is a very stable shoe, so even though it has a lot of cushion it is pretty firm to combat pronation and supination. The softest Hoka is the Clifton.
@@RunMoore thanks for clarification on which is more stable/firm. I normally get the Bondi but did try the Gaviota a few yrs ago and remembered it felt stable on my flat, pronated feet.
@@reveurerrant3323 zoomx invincible is a great shoe. If you look at hoka down the road, check the shoe model's page to see if it is rated as neutral (as opposed to moderate or stable) and plush (as opposed to responsive or balanced). Enjoy the invincible!
A God send for me with arthritis in the big toe joint. Got the 4E extra wide to give the toes more room! Would not be able to work without them! Wish other models came in the extra wide.. Yep look rather big(clown) but I don't care because my feet love them..
I agree it's a niceupdate to a already great shoe. I would say the I personally thought the Bondi 7 & the Clifton both felt way to firm to what they should be. imiss the old Cliftons when they were truly like running on clouds. Also, I miss Hoka's real wide platforms. They seem to be getting narrower platformed and more curved. Not my jam. As for the looks most of my customers say the new Bondi 8 looks way way way more bulky and it's because of the super flared out forefoot flare. New Balance does this on the 1080's and althoug I prefer it as it adds some late stage stability my customers at least say it looks too bulky. Not all of them, but a good percentage do. HAsn't slown doen this new Bondi. It sells like water in the dessert.
It's been extremely popular so far and we have had a lot of good feedback on the design. I agree the flared-out base looks wide but the lower heel and better upper makes it look less substantial. At least it seems that way to me.
What shoe is the better choice...Bonding 8 or Gaviota 4? As a delivery driver, I'm on my feet for about 10 hours a day, mostly on concrete. Any opinions welcomed.
Sadly they, in my opinion, ruined the Bondi line. The 8 definitely does not have the cushion level of the 7. I can run fine in the 6 or 7 but the 8 a can’t run in. The 8 has removed what made the Bondi’s great. This new foam is not good in my opinion. I also don’t like the tongue gusset and they integrated it in the side of the shoe so cutting it out is tough. I also did agree on the shoe box, the new 8,s are tighter as it seems the material is not as wide. The 8,s smash your little toe down. I went and bought 4 pairs of 7’s. My wife has the same opinion as I. Once my 7’s are gone I need to find another brand.
I had the same experience! The toe box seemed to be narrower and there was no cushion around the ankle. I was so disappointed and sent them back😢 I tried to find more of the Bondi 7’s, but had zero luck.

@@RunMoore Bought one today, thanks for ur insights. The only problem I feel is that its impossible to get wide width's at stores. I am going to order a wide width online. Thanks!
Hi can you recommend one I can buy for my wife on her birthday? She’s always up on her feet and walking at her office job, she’s not a runner, I’ve never heard of Homs but looking to get something nice and comfortable for her as a surprise.
I have low arch/flat feet and wear Superfeet Adapt Run insoles. Want to use the Bondi 8 as a walk around shoe. Have read some reviews that say the 8 has a more intrusive arch than v7. Do you find that this is the case with the 8? I don't know if I would like this.
I'm waiting on my delivery of the Bondi 8... the issue I'm trying to fix is that i damage the bone of my big toe on both feet. Kept tripping on a sidewalk covered with snow ...head on, almost every single day for weeks. (don't judge please 🤦🏼♀) However, the I sliped and fell several times because my cas were thinking their water bowl was a pool for awhile and going from carpet to tile, I'd just slide smashing my toes onto the wall. (Stop laughing) Anyway ... the result is that I can no longer stand steadily on tip toe with excruciating pain. I can't bend my toes like people do with getting up from the ground ie I can't push up using my toes. And the most detrimental to me is I just can't even wear the tiniest heel anymore because any weight on the ball of both feet especially the knuckle of the big toe is just super impossible. I believe I've thrown away or given away at least 15 pairs of beautiful boots 3-41/2 inch heels, not including shoes! Will this shoe help me to walk and roll my toes comfortably, more naturally? I walk stiffly now. Even in flats or slippers. Bending to walk on my own is just not an option. Do you think these will help with the roll in front? I'm absolutely NOT a fan of such a BIG shoe (faithful thin sole keds fan here) but that's not an option anymore. Thoughts??
I tried the Bondi 7 and the insole was super rigid and hurt my insole after a lot of walking. I had to return them. i did love the cushion and the bounce. Wish i knew the right style to buy.
My job is running around in a parking lot 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I walk the equivalent of 7-9 miles a day which is equivalent to 20-23 thousand steps a day. Would the Hoka Bondi 8 be a good choice for me? I need a shoe that can take a lot of abuse and at the same time can be really soft and squishy, because I'm on my feet all day. Also, what kind of socks should one wear with these shoes? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Max cushioning is not necessarily some thing that runners should be looking after because the elevation and extra cushioning can actually hurt your foot overtime. It causes the impact of your foot, hitting the ground to be a lot more forceful and less natural.
I wear the outsides of my shoes, are these not a good choice for me? I own a vending company and walk a lot of miles on them, so I’m looking for something comfortable that will help with the wear issues. I wear Aetrex insoles that the scanner recommended. Any help would be much appreciated!
I tried these on in regular width and could feel the medial arch digging into my feet. The fit was otherwise fine. Would 2E width help? I’ve heard that Hoka wides just increase upper volume.
Would you say these shoes are the best for plantar fasciitis? I work at a hospital, so I’m on my feet all day long.. I bought the bondi 7 but they just aren’t working out 😩 so I’m thinking about exchanging the 7 for the 8
Just got a pair of Bondi 8 as the fiest Hokas I've ever worn and they started stressing my feet after about an hour of being on them. What did you end up doing?
I am 68 and preparing to backpack the continental divide trail. As I get older I have foot neuropathy, pain at night. Would this be a good shoe for backpacking as an older person? Thank you. Carolyn
If you plan on backpacking, a better option from Hoka would be the Stinson 7. It is in the same cushion category as the Bondi 8. The Stinson has a higher stack height adding more cushion. The Stinson 7 also incorporates Hoka's H-Frame stability system providing ample support for longer walks. Finally, the Stinson 7 is classified as a trail shoe, meaning it has a more grippy outsole designed for trails.
So what high cushion shoe w/stability do you re-direct customers to? I've used Bondi's for my long runs for a few years and really appreciate the cushion...but, 1. I'm constantly let down by the fabric, it blows out at about 350 miles, way before the midsole is done and 2. I started using the Saucony Endorphin Shift for my daily short runs a while back and really like the slight stability, so was wondering about something high cushion for long runs?
I wear a 11.5, 2E in the New Balance Fresh More Foam V3, do you think I would wear the same size & width in the new Bondi 8? Thank you in advance for your replies. I'm diabetic and looking for a real soft cushion shoe.
Nobody seems to want to reply if these shoes would be good for Plantar Fasciitis or help prevent Plantar Fasciitis from occurring? Please what say you?
My podiatrist recommended the Hoka Bondi 8 for my plantar fascitis and I'm honestly not impressed with them. I work in healthcare and on my feet 10 hours a day. I wore them one time and experienced foot soreness and knee pain not related to the fascitis. Maybe there is a breaking in period for this shoe that I have to get through but I don't want to go through that pain again. Maybe I'll try a different model (Clifton 9) in the future but at $165.00 I'll probably just try a different brand
I bought these and would like to take them back they hurt the middle of my feet I work at Walmart and stand and walk on my feet for 8 hours a day walk about 15 to 20,000 steps a day need to know what's a good pair of shoes to wear for walking on concrete all day
Just bought the bondi 8 as my first hokas and they hurt the center of my feet after an hour of standing on them. I have plantar fascitis so I have trouble finding footwear that is comfortable.
Hello I am in the uk love your channel would love your shop near me. I have had 2 pairs of clifton 8s do like them but in your opinion should I go to bondi 8 or wait to get the hoka Clifton 9. I change my hokas every 650k Thanks in advance x
Thanks for watching! I wish I had a store in the UK! I believe the Clifton 9 does not come out until February, so you have some time. I would try the new Bondi. It has been a hit for us, plus you should get more life out of it than the Clifton. Plus it is nice to have a different style than more of the same model. You can have a faster shoe day and a longer shoe day if you bring a Bondi into the mix.
My feet are supinated. I walk on the outside of both feet and wear down the outside of my shoes all the time and quickly too. Is the Bondi 8 for me, or what brand/ model would you recommend?
Thanks for watching! If you plan on going with Hoka we recommend the Arahi 6 or the Gaviota 4. These are Hoka's two stable models that both have lateral support which helps people who supinate. The Arahi is a lower stack height, less cushioned version of the Gaviota. However, people say the Arahi feels softer because the Gaviota has more support.
A better option from Hoka would be the Gaviota. It is the same maximum cushion platform with added support in the shoe. Think of it like a Bondi with an Arch Support built into the shoe. One thing we would recommend would be adding an insert with a metatarsal pad into your shoe. One we carry is the Aetrex L705.
So I had bunion surgery(lapiplasty) 6.5 weeks ago. I will be transitioning from a boot to a shoe after 8 weeks. Is the arch support adequate in the bondi 8? I have low arches and overpronate some so if I put good inserts in it will it be adequate? I know I will need cushion but also stability. Will the rocker put too much stress on my great toe? Just wondered whT shoe might be best for me. Thanks so much!!

I admire your speaking / communication skills! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you so much!
This is the most informative video on this topic great job
Great review ! Thank you for such a detailed review and comparison of the Bondi 8 and the changes from the Bondi 7.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for supporting Run Moore! It's nice to hear those have been working out for you. Hopefully, your husband likes them as much as you do!
The Bondi 7 is the most comfortable shoe I have ever had. Just ordered the 8. Can't wait to try it. Thanks for the review!!
Thanks for watching out channel!
What shoes have you run in that do give that forward momentum? Thanks.
I tried this shoe and felt like clouds on my feet. Immediately bought them.
Glad to hear you liked the new Bondi 8! Thanks to the Bondi's maximum cushioning, it has become a fan favorite at our store.
Thanks for the honest vedio ! Great I had the older model was also not so good.
I just picked up a pair of Bondi 8’s they feel great on my left foot but not so much on the right foot!
I appreciate the support for the youtube channel!
I still using Hoka Clifton 8 it's amazing.. I really like it
Wow, had know idea there was a shop like Run Moore in Westminster! I work at Carroll and I'm looking up shoes for my 12hr shifts. I need to stop by
For those who suffer from hallux limitus / rigidus - stock up on the 7s or buy the 8s?
These shoes are legit!!🤙
its interesting, becuase I found the hokas (clifton and blade) have been super resilient - I would never have expected them to last this long with high mileage and my weight (6'3ft)
great review, thank you for the useful info...
Well done, thorough review.
I think people burning them up that quickly must be much heavier than average
150-200 dollars is better than having to pay over 10k for foot or knee surgery 😂 think McFly, think
@@TheRealTommyShelby well the fact that you "think" that these shoes would help with someone's bad foot or knees just proves your lack of actual intellect. 🤔 🤦♂️
@@TheRealTommyShelby Thank god for the UK where I only have to compare 150 pound shoes to a free foot or knee surgery
what do you think of this shoe for plantar fasciitis?
Great video! I appreciate your detailed analysis of this shoe. I’ve been running in the Arahi and love the cushion. I supinate severely though and wonder if I should try the Bondi with an orthotic. Any advice?
Are these good for plantar fasciitis?
So you're saying perhaps the Bondi isn't as good for flat feet? Which is best for that condition in your opinion?
You’re an encyclopedia, thank you for that awesome review. I’ve never heard of the Gaviota before and I have flat feet -ish
@@RunMoore Got my Nike ZoomX Invincible Run Flyknit 2 yesterday and it's the best shoe ever!
Great review and I just got them, I think Hoka can still go more Hoka....
First Hoka design I have ever liked
It's a slick-looking shoe!
Hoka is my #1 choice..lightest shoes I'd ever had..feels fits perfectly
@@RunMoore what is your recommendation for just walking? I am open to any brand and model. I already have mach 4 for running--and it's fantastic.
Excellent review! Does it break in?
I also agree, love the 7’s & don’t really like the 8’s. I’m so upset that I can’t find 7’s anymore!
Thanks for ur clip & for covering all the features of the shoe. Does it come in 8 wide?
We appreciate your support for our channel! You can find the Bondi on our website here - shop.letsrunmoore.com/content/bondi. It comes in multiple colors and sizes. Feel free to use code 'runmoore' to save 10% on all new model shoes!
@@RunMoore Bought one today, thanks for ur insights. The only problem
I feel is that its impossible to get wide width's at stores. I am going to
order a wide width online. Thanks!
Hi can you recommend one I can buy for my wife on her birthday? She’s always up on her feet and walking at her office job, she’s not a runner, I’ve never heard of Homs but looking to get something nice and comfortable for her as a surprise.
bought this shoe today we'll see if it's good
Hope you like them!
I have bunions and I supinate bad. I'm currently in a bondi 6 that is worn out. Do you recommend the bondi 8 or another Hoka?
I have low arch/flat feet and wear Superfeet Adapt Run insoles. Want to use the Bondi 8 as a walk around shoe. Have read some reviews that say the 8 has a more intrusive arch than v7. Do you find that this is the case with the 8? I don't know if I would like this.
Any thoughts about how this shoe compares to the On Cloudmonster? Thanks
I have a three pinching points in my Bondi 7’s
I love the cushioning but man, can we fix the tight toe box.
Thoughts??
You poor darling I feel your pain hope all is going well for you now 🙏
I tried the Bondi 7 and the insole was super rigid and hurt my insole after a lot of walking. I had to return them. i did love the cushion and the bounce. Wish i knew the right style to buy.
I would look into the Brooks Glycerin 20. It has tons of cushion but they upgraded the midsole to a very soft bouncy foam blend.
Can i use them on wet roads and rainy days?
Would you say these shoes are the best for plantar fasciitis? I work at a hospital, so I’m on my feet all day long.. I bought the bondi 7 but they just aren’t working out 😩 so I’m thinking about exchanging the 7 for the 8
Just got a pair of Bondi 8 as the fiest Hokas I've ever worn and they started stressing my feet after about an hour of being on them. What did you end up doing?
How much difference between the wide and extra wide version?
Thank you so very much! This gives me a good place to start. I appreciate the feedback. Canyonelder
I loved the Bondi 7, but the Bondi 8 cushioning just felt really hard to me
Does anyone actually know if the Bondi 8 resiliency has been tested? Until I can see numbers and real statistics, I remain doubtful.
I feel like the arch is too far back, I’m a 12 in a 12, do I need a half size up?
I bought these and would like to take them back they hurt the middle of my feet I work at Walmart and stand and walk on my feet for 8 hours a day walk about 15 to 20,000 steps a day need to know what's a good pair of shoes to wear for walking on concrete all day
Just bought the bondi 8 as my first hokas and they hurt the center of my feet after an hour of standing on them. I have plantar fascitis so I have trouble finding footwear that is comfortable.
Is the heel width wider as well as the toe area on a 4E?? vs a 2E
Does the bondi 8 have memory foam for your Achilles, like the bondi 7 ?
Do you sale them in stores
Hello I am in the uk love your channel would love your shop near me.
I have had 2 pairs of clifton 8s do like them but in your opinion should I go to bondi 8 or wait to get the hoka Clifton 9.
I change my hokas every 650k
Thanks in advance x
Thanks for watching! I wish I had a store in the UK! I believe the Clifton 9 does not come out until February, so you have some time. I would try the new Bondi. It has been a hit for us, plus you should get more life out of it than the Clifton. Plus it is nice to have a different style than more of the same model. You can have a faster shoe day and a longer shoe day if you bring a Bondi into the mix.
Hi I am from India .. could you please recommend a shoe with max cushion for heel and metatarsal pain .
Thanks
Bondi 8 or Gaviota 5?
Would you do an 87klm ultra in this?
My feet are supinated. I walk on the outside of both feet and wear down the outside of my shoes all the time and quickly too. Is the Bondi 8 for me, or what brand/ model would you recommend?
Thanks for watching! If you plan on going with Hoka we recommend the Arahi 6 or the Gaviota 4. These are Hoka's two stable models that both have lateral support which helps people who supinate. The Arahi is a lower stack height, less cushioned version of the Gaviota. However, people say the Arahi feels softer because the Gaviota has more support.
@@RunMoore Thank you for the quick response. I will look into both of the models you suggested.
I have metatarsalgia, do you suggest to buy? Or do you have a differents shoe to suggest?
Thanks
I bought 2 of Hoka shoes yesterday and loved it both.
Thanks for the support! Everyone here at Run Moore loves Hokas!
Do you know when the blue model will be avaiable? On the hoka website it is not possibile to pre-order it
We have the blue in stock at our store
