I love watching these because Brian explains the behind the scenes and business part of it that not many know and understand. It really helps you to understand why things are the way they are and prices etc
Yeah, it's awesome. The *_absolute best_* person to listen to with getting the most transparent behind-the-scenes info is from Bobby Vala - from Valaverse. He's on the 3POA podcast/lives, and is a fountain of wisdom and pertinent information regarding the business.
I can't wave to see the next Silverhawks wave man... I been buying all their waves since I love so much that cartoon as a kid...😀✌️💡

Absolutely we need a decent Tygra! Hands down the most disappointing and underwhelming figure from the line, and it's unfortunately one of the main characters. The head sculpts are awfully inaccurate (gritting teeth one looks like they're constipated or freaked out), the paint apps and plastic has *major* QC issues, they're supposed to have muted orange fur with flesh tone skin - not neon orange & yellow, and of course the no right bicep strap. I ended up just putting a tiny teal rubber band around their arm for the strap...it's ridiculous. Not doing what's right to correct the matter was 100% unacceptable.
*I know that wave was the last set produced at the old Mattel factory, and there were _soooo_ many issues with that; but you should still rectify the matter with producing a decent Tygra complete with their right armband. So just a new upper right arm, two new heads, and maybe a bolo whip with an accurately scaled end piece...instead of just the retracted one being accurate with the size of the balls.
FTR, I use the slipcases (with the empty boxes inside) as backgrounds and platforms for displaying the loose figures on shelves. So I've definitely gotten post-purchase usage out of them. Same for Silverhawks. Couldn't let this gorgeous packaging go to waste.
Brian is right, we need to get way deeper into the original series before even thinking about 2011. The original series was a much bigger success than the 2011, even though I think it was really well done for what it was.
BTW Brian is awesome for doing these, this is unprecedented access for a toy company. While I certainly don't agree with every move they make, I'd be sadder in a world without Super7.

Yeah I have my Super 7 gripes, but overall, I am very happy with their Thundercats and we are a very fortunate fandom to have them and in this amount/variety

I have only love for my fellow Thundercats fans but I just can't understand the appeal of the 2011 series. I tried (even bought the DVDs) but just could not get there. Glad you like it though. Whiskers!

27:48 Yes! More Snow Meow talk! I'm good on those other items (I want 'em, but can live without), but we _absolutely_ want a Snow Meow before the 10 year anniversary of the Snowman of Hook Mountain's release.
30:36 Snow Meow as a crowdfunding thing?? The retail cost for the Revelations Battle Cat was $40, but I understand MOQ and Mattel is a huge company. And I get that ThunderCats is a niché audience, but Snow Meow is super basic and not the size of a tank. Plus, a lot of ppl would go in on it just 'cause they're a big cat. No way would I be able to justifiably pay over $100 for a cat figure that's the size of Battle Cat.
They are already selling Ghost Jaga for $ 200 dollars 😂please make more of him.

I think the only reason vac metal Silver Hawks didn't do better is because they weren't first. I couldn't justify getting them after I had the first versions. Its not that they're not cool though. I would have certainly got them if that's how they started.

24:42 In case anyone doesn't know, Brian's referring to the Berbils. They're the ones that built the Cat's Lair. So we'll have ro wait 'till wave 11 for them. $55 for that little guy is a hard pill to swallow 😬. Here's hoping they come with more stuff than Snarf. Or even better, you do multiple 2-packs, and each one could be $55; but they'd end up being $75 for two very basic limited articulated (due to their designs) Berbils.
I'm pretty happy with the schedule for the arrivals of the Thundercats Ultimates at the moment, apart from wave 8. There seems to be quite a delay on that one, but I don't know why. Even Wave 9 has moved ahead of it. Hachiman is the reason I have a particular interest in wave 8. That figure looks like it's going to be badass.

So glad you guys addressed the boxes. My Ghost Jagas came in without a mailer and I thought someone was screwing with me. Great interview as always but we need to stop talking about the 2011 apocrypha. It would be a total waste of plastic.80s toons are the bread and butter. Don't let up!!! I would love a life-size classic sword of omens. My original LJN one split and it's difficult to find one in good condition for a decent price. I've got the 2011 version but it's not the same. I don't believe that any toy companies have done a life-size classic sword of omens in recent times. If we could get a larger version of what LJN did, seeing as how it would be adults buying it now, I'd be all over that. They would just have to make sure they included the light-up feature. I think it would hit people in a similar to how the LJN style Lion-O figure did, for those who bought it.
I'm in the same boat. My old sword also split. I would be happy to replace it but Brian is right. I don't expect him to produce scale replicas. Just make more 80s toons figures.
While I feel for those that want Berbils they aren't going to sell well so maybe wait for those til later?
Brutemen? Mad Bubbler would need to be huge btw. I know the LJN prototype wasn't but for him to be accurate, he'd have to be massive. Same with Spidera and probably Amortus. That's why I've not really been expecting those characters. It's the size that's the issue. If Snowmeow isn't in the current plans, then I'm not sure if the aforementioned characters would be either. Although I do get it with the Snowman/Snowmeow thing. Then again, you can never predict what we're going to get. On the Ghost Jaga having a belt, I think people questioned it because although he wore it in ghost form when he fought Grune, he actually appeared to be in his original colours on that occasion as opposed to the usual glowing blue of Ghost Jaga. It was the same when he fought Grune in 'Thundercats HO! Part 5' or 'HO! The Movie'. The sword he used was also in original colours as opposed to glowing blue. The fact that Grune's ghost form appeared in his original colours is probably why we don't get a Ghost Grune figure. With that being said, the original Jaga figure could be a ghost version, not in glowing blue but how his ghost form appeared when he fought Ghost Grune, on both occasions. Those were his most badass moments in ghost form tbf.
First and foremost Thundercats is my #1 I have 2 of everything. isn't the price coming down if we are getting less packaging he said its to save on cost but obviously for him and not for us it should go both ways i actually love the way the packaging was don't want it to change 🤔
Instead of increasing the price of the figure, with all other costs going up, they are keeping it the same by cutting costs with the packaging which they are then making up for with the increases elsewhere.

Awesome! Good to see another two-of-each-er out there. I feel the same way. I assume you're doing the same with the Silverhawks. What are your thoughts on the Tiger sharks? Are you going to army build the reptilians? That's my plan. Especially if we have some downtime between the next two waves.

22:17 I get where Brian is coming from obviously, but no one has to prepay pre-order the figures from Super7. Always best to pre-order from another site like Amazon or Big Bad, where you don't have to pay up front, but you save money with paying less for shipping, or getting free shipping. So no one would be freaked out having to put money up front, since you don't have to do that. But again, I get that Brian wants at least a few ppl to prepay oder directly from Super7 to help out sales.
*Maybe ordering directly is a better option for international buyers. Didn't think about that aspect.

30:53 No Brian . The only ppl that would buy a Snow Meow _are not_ just ppl that have Snowman of Hook Mountain. He's a big cat with a saddle. *PLENTY* of non-Snowman/ThunderCats collectors would love a character like that to use with a plethora of other figures.....see Mythic Legions, and a plethora of other upcoming big articulated animal figures.

Where can one purvhase Super 7 prosucts in South Africa ?
Good question! I import all of mine from S7 directly or buy at BBTS and EE. Then use freight forwarders like Aramex or Postbox Courier. It’s cheaper (and surprisingly faster!) than buying at local comic stores, but some do have it in stock which you can then buy right away and not wait for importing. Cosmic Comics and Smallville are recommended but there are many private sellers on FB that are brilliant like Seth Wollenschlaeger. Look him up!
@@wewantmorethundercats Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll checkout Smallville as I am familiar with them. I want to try BBTS and EE however they seem to all use USPS and since our postage services are less than ideal, I am hesitant to use them .
That’s why I use a freight firwarding address in the US to courier the items to me here. Never shipping with SAPO again lol. Lost too many toys through the years. Happy shopping!
I will miss the sleeve and brown shipper box greatly. It's part of what made the $55-85 figure price point palatable.

Yes Lion-O is done but the story back in the day was that the Mattel factory owned the W1 molds, that is why they redid him. Hopefully the others can follow suit.
I actually think they've gone with the best strategy in terms of trying to prevent a further price increase on their figures. It could affect sales if the prices went any higher than what they currently are. However, I don't think cutting back on the packaging will affect sales. Like Brian says, even MOC collectors want the figure to be visible when they display it. The outer sleeve and brown box serves no purpose imo. Keeping too many boxes can become a bit like a hoarding problem. Admittedly, I did keep some. However, I do like the artwork on the back of the main package, which will probably remain.

Wave 7 is coming out in Jan’24. 8&9 is in May/June’24. They are always roughly 3 waves out with preorders. So this is as per their normal operations. W10 will come up for preorder when W7 is delivering to customers.
It's nice to see Brian and Eggy reunited once again.

This is _totally_ not meant as a smart-ass question or anything...I'm just very intrigued on the clumps of hair that stick up on top of your head. It's kinda like a cowlick, but in a different spot. Pardon my ignorance, I just don't get it. Like maybe it's a South African thing.

All good man. I was a low key class clown...then middle school happened and things went downhill fast! Got *_majorly_* picked on for being a weirdo - especially when they found out I was into comics & figures. I was the freak the freaks picked on lol. Now as far as your 7th grade school photo...I'm sure we're on an equal playing field with how god awful they were back then. If it wasn't a mullet with my bangs super short, it was a big ol' mushroom headed bowl cut.
