Honestly, my artstyle is always changing, which probably isn't a good thing. I do try to keep in consistant within a set. I enjoy stylized lighting with a water-color feel, large eyes and intense dark circles for most of my characters, regardless if it's anime or semi-realism. I also prefer most of the time to draw the eyelash color to match the hair, as it allows me to express if a makeup is bare-faced or wearing makeup or if their hair is dyed. There are exeptions, but most of the time, I do that. I recently like to include "seasonal color" analysis and waterlines into my character designs unless the scale is small or anime-esque. I kind of prefer a semi-realistic style because it allows me to include makeup and face shape. I like playing with the absense or presence of pupils, especially in an anime style. For hairstyles, I prefer to keep things relatively dull.
I have done various iris modifications, realistic, white for pupil, semi donut with spikes/haches, rectangular pupils and/or highlights, rings and dots, comas, waves etc... I like to custumize the irises of my ocs. My dragon elf has light green and light purple alternating rings, its like an illusion so when you see it from a far the eye looks to be a color inbetween.
Great video again! Everything was really well explained. Especially the part where you explained contrast was helpful. You are such a legend for uploading the PSD too! Also the Laplus artwork is so good, it feels like you are improving every video too! Thank you for the work you do!🚌
Thank you so much for this video, it came in at the right time as i was wondering on how to go about eyes, i'll definitely play around to see what I like and what works best for the piece i work on.
your tutorials have greatly helped me in my understanding of shading and eyes, two things that i've struggled with for years. If it's not too much to ask, something on general texture of hair and cloths could be nice. Thank you for the help!
Omg I love this and I tried this and enjoy it! I didn’t do the last part only because I don’t separate my line art on my lashes. I keep them all the same but I did do the iris 👁️ part ❤️🥰
I was just looking for an eye coloring tutorial and here it is! Thanks for the tutorial! Also with the release of 2.0 for clip studio, I recently bought it and I was wondering if you could upload a video of some tricks that you use! Great tutorial as usual :) p.s it was cool to see your artwork as laplus's thumbnail for her return stream :D
the video is so useful that my brain thinks this is theory so it doesnt want to listen i listened the first half tried it and got an actual lookable eye
I’m about to binge your entire channel. You’re honestly teaching me more about actual art than my four years in college. THANK YOU!!!!
I thought art college put more emphasis on marketing/advertisement than art?
@@npc4169 not when you had to take a fine arts course with an emphasis on graphic design in Texas. 😭
@@vanguardangel6912 ah.
that explains it.
the "fine arts" part.
(at least its better than modern art)
The great, The legend, The extraordinary artist I have ever come across just drop a super helpful video. From bottom of my heart thank you so much!!
omg THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE GLITTER AT THE END !!!
it made the eyes look so much better for me !!

I found the best teacher in youtube❤ thx
That Laplus illustration is soo good. I can't seem to find any point of critique for it. Very good use of art techniques, not just the eyes!

It was a very easy explanation!
If there is a next time, please give a lecture on how to paint hair!
Glad to hear that! I will think about it :)

Absurdamente icrivel, seu modo de pensar me da forças para cada vez mais querer seguir essa jornada de artisa.
