As an esthetician I have seen all too often how lipids are over-looked, but wow...once they are included..remarkable! We will learn why I love lipid serums, and about which oils I prefer for age support along with my favorite way to use them.

Hi Sandra! I am so sorry you too deal with cold sores. They are awful. My mother handed those down to me. ;). I appreciate you joining our Friday Live! Yesterday was a bit of a disaster. Haha...the sound was awful (I did figure out what happened there, and fixed it for next time) and even the picture quality was not good (which has to do with the bandwidth when it streamed, and didn't have control over that, unfortunately). Hopefully next Friday it'll all go a little better, but I still had fun! Have a great weekend!

What type of skin do you have? I’m in my 50s and my skin is very oily ? Is lipid barrier necessary for oily skin ? I’m afraid to use oil because my skin will break out. Sounds great for dry skin but I don’t know if you have oily skin. This doesn’t seem like it’s gonna work. Any suggestions? I find myself just spraying essential oils and water on my skin. I can’t use vitamin C and a moisturizer or cream or oil so I put vitamin C in water and spray that on my face if I don’t, my face will break out terribly..

That was great Jill!! Thank you!! I never knew about that at all. Can I ask where you get pumpkin seed oil and grape seed oil? I am really not sure what to use on my skin. It is dry, and currently I wash my face, use Vitamin c serum, then niacinamide and then Cerave pm lotion during the day. At night I do the same except I use retinol instead of Vitamin c serum, niacinamide and then cerave again. So if you could tell me where to add the essential oils and what you use, that would be great!! Thanks so much!! By the way, your skin is gorgeous!!!

Well, that's a new one? 😄 We have natural lipids (oils) in our skin that deplete as we grow older. These lipids are SO important to the health of our skin. We need to assist our skin by adding them to our skin care routines. ;) Types of oils depend on skin type. We only need a drop or two. They also seal in those hydrators we love so much (like hyaluronic acid) which keep our cells plump and our skin buoyant.

If you are looking for content that just shoves products in front of you that they are affiliated with and they themselves aren’t sure what they are or how they work… head to instagram. Well, actually there are plenty of them here on UA-cam as well.
