Yes that sinkingness in her voice is alluring I love listening to her speak in all her seasons from Fiona, Constance even Elsa Mars. I wish there was a super cut of her talking.
She says she can't sing either,I think she does very well for someone who"can't sing?! &I think she is a brilliant actress&looks even sexirt in her mature years than when she was a lot younger!Does anyone else agree with me about her being more beautiful now than in her 20's?
Constance in my opinion is the best fictitional character ever written (for a tv show at least XD), so complex and well performed! Hope they don't fuck it up in the new season
Honestly it's impossible for me to pick a favorite Jessica Lange performance from AHS. On one hand you have Constance, a mysterious and multi faceted character that we still don't know entirely about. On another, you have Fiona, a kick ass witch who doesn't take any shit, but who only cares about herself (and you love her for it). Sister Jude is also arguably her best portrayal, because of her immense character development (THE NAME GAME Y'ALL) and her ability to change your entire view of her. And finally you have Elsa, a character who is selfish, yet ambitious and also very mysterious. All brought to life by the incredible Jessica Lange.
Cade Del Rey and then she was able to redeem the image of the successful, independent, beautiful, insecure, damaged, emotional, complex legendary screen legend Joan Crawford, and made her relatable and show a different light other than the negative caricature her daughter Christina made with Mommie Dearest.
Impeccable. Extraordinary. She steals every scene. This mini monologue, the last one of that season was nothing short of PERFECTION. It takes an amazing actor to turn a character that is supposed to be vile and transform it into a human being searching for love, absolution, forgiveness and just another chance at success. She does that with every character that has been given to her from season 1 to 4. Even the worst traits of each character, she forces you to overlook them and focus on the human aspects of each one of them. That desire to be a better person despite the continuous choice to do the wrong thing. You end up feeling empathy for all of them: Constance, Sister Jude, Fiona and Elsa.
It's true isnt it? May I confide something? Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I was destined for great things. I was gonna be somebody, a person of, significance. Astar of the silver screen I once thought, but, my dreams became nightmares. Instead of laurels, funeral wreaths. Instead of glory, bitter disappointment. Cruel afflictions, but now I understand, tragedy, was preparing me for something greater. Every loss that came before, was a lesson. I was being prepared, now I know for what. This child, a remarkable boy, destined for greatness. In need of a remarkable mother, someone forged in the fires of adversity who can guide him with wisdom, with firmness, with love. In case anyone wanted to read along 🤣
I've been fortunate to have met Ms. Lange, as we share the same hometown. We frequent the same haunts. Even in casual atmosphere and attire, she possesses such a presence. Yet she knows where she comes from. Top tier actress. Riveting, she holds you spellbound, to every word, every nuance. To have shared space and time with her was an experience I will always remember. I too, have been forged in the fires of adversity. She's the absolute queen.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I was destined for great things. I was going to be somebody. Person of significance. Star of the silver screen, I once thought. But... my dreams became nightmares. Instead of laurels, funeral wreaths. Instead of glory, heh, bitter disappointment. Cruel afflictions. Now I understand. Tragedy was preparing me for something greater. Every loss that came before was a lesson. I was being prepared. Now I know for what. This child... a remarkable boy. Destined for greatness. In need of a remarkable mother. Someone forged in the fires of adversity, who can guide him. With--with firmness. With love.

Great scene and performance by Jessica Lange---of course---but my favorite part of this scene is the hairdresser/stylist's reaction to this large spill of a confession and outpour of emotion from her client. She's just forced to stand through that, and her look of half-horror as Constance rambles about such depressing matter gets me every time.
1:40 I always wonder if the stylist touches her chin because shes filled with empathy for Constance. Or if its because she is shocked how insane she must sound in a morbid way.
She's describing the potential of being a great mum after failing her precious children. She's talking nonsense at the hair salon just give the hairdresser what she wants. An earful. Constance is basically preparing for the worst to come shedding tears, bracing up. To raise the anti-christ. She's knows what gonna happen but she ain't a quitter at life. That what the monologue is about. Acceptance in the face of all the odds. She still alive and fierce. After how life has been for her. She's still got it and isn't giveing up. That's my take
regina phalange I agree, that’s a brilliant interpretation! I believe she took it as another one of life’s challenges for her to take the anti-Christ baby and try to raise a good human being. Teach him love, and right and wrong. She thought she was destined to be the savior by protecting the child from the path of darkness for which it was destined. She lost all her children, but this was an opportunity to redeem herself.
I love how her voice sinks as the monologue gets deeper and darker. Jessica Lange is utterly flawless!
The show just isn't the same without her.
Yes it is stop crying! LOL
+Ernesto Estrada actually no the last two seasons have been mediocre at best .Jessica made AHS
Amen

She could read the yellow pages cover to cover and I would be spellbound and not miss a word. Greatest actress alive. Love her. Brava!
I absolutely agree...I think she's the only one I could listen all time whatever she says and it's a pleasure!
I come back to this a lot now. She truly deserved the Emmy, Globe and SAG for Constance.
Constance in my opinion is the best fictitional character ever written (for a tv show at least XD), so complex and well performed! Hope they don't fuck it up in the new season
Jesus Christ. Can you act any better than this? Jessica Lange has been saving her best acting for the last years of her life. Jesus.
Impeccable acting!

Sister Jude was my favorite hands down. Constance and then Fiona. The show fell out out favor with me after the third season.
@@zakbutler2683 I love her Joan Crawford. She's so funny, sassy, selfish, power-hungry, and deceitful.
@@migsmog I agree, Season 3 is my all-time favorite; after that it fell off.
I choose Elsa because of her beauty, style, desilusional behavior, and her complexity. Also because of her german accent

I speak this onto my children as I tuck them in at night. They love daddy's story 🤗.
That woman can take over a role like nobody’s business. You hang on every word and feel every emotion. Remarkable lady.

I’m so glad she’s reprising this role in season 8!
She's a goddess, one of the Greatest actress of ALL TIME.
I think her signature moves are the way she uses her hand, the way she tilted her head and her voice.
Simply amazing! She is wonderful in everything.
i’m performing this monologue for a theatre performance and i’m so excited
We all wish we could do "That Thing" Jessica always does with her hands while monologuing. ^_^

Constance was hoping this was her second chance at life, little did she knew...
‘The work speaks for itself’. Jessica Lange
Love Jessica Lange
this reminds me of the blanche dubois monologue about funerals.
Iconic.
She’s channeling Kim Stanley in this..GENIUS
I think about this so much.
I'm going to reenact this monologue for my drama group, because it was so beautiful, but I know it won't be better than her
This scene is breathtaking.
Memorable monologo interpretado por la mas grande actriz dramatica viva!!!...

This scene is so scary idk why ...
"lady i'm a hairdresser. i didn't ask for this morbid-ass, self indulgent monologue but ok".

How to steal the show by Jessica Lange
The grandchild is going to be the antichrist politician in season 7!!!!
That would be cool, but I think he's likely returning in Season 8, which will be a crossover with Murder House and Coven.
AHS: Apocalypse The witches from Coven versus this child. Its a crossover.
chef-d'oeuvre!!!!!!

Jessica is a fucking G! She's a fantastic actress. I think this is the best monologue in this season of ahs🎬🎬🎬

Strangely similar to a scene she performed in Blue Sky
If you can watch this whole scene without wanting to pluck out your eardrums then you are insane

She was creepy as fuck loved every minute !!!!!! (L)
The epitome of Langonism.
The movie is very good love it
