- 1994 commercial for Kirin's Lager Beer, starring Harrison Ford. Momoko Kikuchi and a man who appears to be Shiro Ito also appear. Part of a series.
"kirinlagaa bieru kudasai"
That was surreal.
Momoko Kikuchi and Harrison Ford? Wow!
I've never seen Harrison so kawaii xD
you see them holding a beer or a beer being poured, but you will not see someone actually put the glass/bottle to their lips and drink it.
Han Solo drinks Gurren Lagann beeru?
@leekenobi21
it literally translates as "Please give me"
Hai, so omoimas'!
what do the young couple say to each other after he walks in?
Where's Chewie?!
Actually, it makes sense in this CM. He asks for Kirin with a thick American accent, and somehow the chef understands him and tells the waitress "one beer" (biiru ippon, not kirin ippon) and thats why harrison ford corrects him, although its all very weird. Who cares! Just get a beer and get out, haha.
They say "Do you know him?"
It's driving me nuts, why did harrison have to repeat himself? First he asks for the beer, then the chef says something, then harrison says "no no..." then repeats himself? What the heck did the chef say???
Only thing I can think of is that maybe he didn't think he'd want the native beer? and offered him some american beer instead? lol
I want to know this too.
That would be my best guess. It makes sense because a lot of American tourists may be hesitant to try local stuff and, as a commercial, it reinforces that HARRISON FORD definitely wants kirin ichiban
are people allowed to be shown drinking beer on television in Japan?
Yes it is allowed
Binannnk dourou Gan hnin
What the hell people drink all the time on TV. I don't know where you got that.
Why wouldn't they be?
so indy drinks just like dad.... right before he yells at mom and whips out his belt. another moral figure down the drain.
'cuz it's not allowed in the 'states
I actually liked Lando better than Han in some ways...
wow, that's... really stupid. Not the states, but this law.
