    Just recently found your channel and love your content. I have a son who may soon commit to a CVC neighbor, but still wish the Saints well. Go Knights!

    Do you know what the D2 scene is like in mens volleyball? I hear a lot about D1 and D3 but never really D2.

      D2 and D1 compete together. So you prob never hear about D2 because technically they’re “D1 athletes” too

      Much of the Carolina schools are d2 but compete on the d1 stage other schools like this are Barry U in Miami- Lewis in Romeoville which is probably the most well known

      All of these comments are exactly right, about 32 Division II schools, they are similar to DI in the way that they are able to get athletic scholarships for playing sports. However, that might not be as much as Division I programs. Based on the fact there's only about 60 ish school between DI and DII men's volleyball, that's why you see some overlap in conferences and matchups during their seasons.

      I touch on some middle concepts mostly blocking in a few of my blocking videos. I haven't made a specific middle video yet but that won't be for long.

    How do u d3 schools get a lot of players is it by the players reaching out or the schools and if the schools would you say it is easier to get seen from school team or club teams

      Volleyball is one of the largest growing sports in the U.S., especially in terms of interest from the high school to the college level. Compounded with the fact that theirs only about 60 D1 & D2 schools out there, it presents a big opportunity for athletes to keep paying at the D3 level. It's a combination of both, the bigger the program the more you get players reaching out to schools. The best way to get noticed is at the club level at nationals or other big tournaments.

      @@mitchsterkenburg thank you i was also wondering how tall usally players are and if that makes a big difference i am 6ft right now as a sophmore in hs but will probably be arounf 6,2 ish is that around avarege? And would you say vertical is as important as height

    What about international students how do we reach out to you also are there any requirements like jumping reach and height etc for each divisions

    • @mitchsterkenburg
      @mitchsterkenburg  7 днів тому

      No additional requirements, email works the same way for international students as it does everyone else. I wouldn't say there are requirements for division, but make sure to include them in your email.

      Marymount has an Interior Architecture BA and MA programs. I don't know if we have any architectural study majors outside of that one.

    This video seems like it's trying to recruit the "recruits" to Marymount. Didn't you mention in your video ,where you explain how to make a volleyball highlight video to send to coaches, that you get emails everyday from potential recruits? Are you guys not getting enough potential recruits at the D3 level?

    • @mitchsterkenburg
      @mitchsterkenburg  2 місяці тому +3

      Good awareness, while we do get a lot of recruits coming to us. We are always looking for potential recruits that can be impact players and fit the needs of our roster year to year. The purpose of this video for me is first to educate those about D3 volleyball that might be unaware of some of the benefits, and secondly to steer those to our school whether it be a potential recruit or maybe just a fan who wants to tune in to our team. I'm here for the long game, I hope this video and more outlive this recruiting season into many more in the future.

    I’m a Jr right now and begging to send emails and highlight vids to coaches. I’d love to know what coaches are looking for in those highlight vids and what to put in an email. I’d love to see a vid or u to just respond to this comment. Thanks (for a setter specifically)

      I got something in the works for you, Matthew Houlihan also has some great information on what to send to coaches if you don't know what to say I'd look him up.
