- This is a video that clarifies how to add fixture units for flush valve fixtures that are on multiple storeys and for the Flush Tank Urinal.
Great video just what any student needs 👍. One thing I will point out is at the end when calculating the Urinals with direct flush Valves he showed the right table but the fixture unit count should be 20,15,10,8,5,5etc.
Well that sucks. The power of copy and paste screwed me again.
hi mathematic plumber i was wondering if you could shed me some light, on how I go about calculating this thanks
What is the maximum number of 1” branches that can be taken off a 4”
a. 4
b. 8
c. 16
d. 32
I have never come across this rule so I cannot answer with 100% certainty.
But logically the area of 4" pipe is 16 times greater than the area of 1" pipe. So I would say 16
the secret 5th Video... ive found it jk lol
More of an update than a secret
How do we size the flush valve pipe for stadium arenas?
Watch the rest of the water line sizing video series. It covers sizing. If the building is so big that it goes beyond the limits of the sizing tables, then an engineer needs to get involved.
Thank you
I feel like i owe this man money at this point. thank you kindly for these videos very straight forward and easy to understand.
Thank you i was struggling with this!
Hello,
I was wondering, how come you never talk about water velocity. how do we add velocity when we do water sizing. Thanks
Please can you make a video on the average pressure loss method in the appendix of the plumbing code?
and thanks for every thing .. it's useful
Thank you sir. I beg you to make for me a video on Greece trap . How to vent it and how to install it as well
Unfortunately, I have no experience with grease traps. I would start by reading the manufacturer's instructions though.
how i can calculate the fixture unit for commercial kitchen equipment and laundry for hotels and public building ? please i need code or any reference
Watch the first 4 videos of this series first. It will reference Table 2.6.3.2.-A, that is where you want to look.
In 2.6.3.2.-A you want to look for fixtures labelled as 'commercial' and the clothes washer could be 3 different types. You will need to find out what type of clothes washer that is to be installed.

Hi, thank you for all the videos, I am about to finish them all. I failed the red seal exam with score 64%, have no direction to push forward, what can I do?
It's been years since I have written the Red Seal and I don't teach 4th Year plumbing. So this answer will be a bit vague.
From what I can understand, it is written from more of a practical stand point. As in questions about problems you may encounter in the field and how you would solve them.
You need to be very familiar with your plumbing code.
And you may be asked questions using all 3 methods of water line sizing. (Simplified Method, Small Commercial Method, Average Pressure Loss Method)
I only have videos on Small Commercial Method.
@@MathematicPlumber Thank you so much.
