Apparently Fred Rogers was actually a fan of "Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood". He visited the SNL set one time, and a surprised Eddie Murphy shouted, "It's the real Mr. Rogers!" Without skipping a beat, Rogers returned with, "It's the real Mr. Robinson!"
Oh, I’m sooo glad to know that! I was eight or ten when he died, and was absolutely devastated. I love hearing so many wonderful things about one of my very first role models. I even named my cat after Daniel Tiger a few years ago as a tribute. In a painful, ugly world, I can always count on Mr. Rogers to bring me a little sliver of hope.
Yesssss it's one of my all time favorite SNL skits. My favorite is "I HAVE A BOMBSHELL ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE GUYS. I'm not Matt, I'm..." "Kylo Ren, yeah we know" "I knew when you threw me through the soda machine." "I knew from 'Hi I'm Matt'"
I can't believe yall left out The Office/Hobbit parody with Martin Freeman reprising his role on the original British Office as Bilbo Baggins instead of Tim/Jim. 😂
I am soooo glad that my mom made me start with the first season of SNL. The oldest sketches are always the best! And it also allows me to enjoy the running gags and self-aware references of the later years. Not to mention that I grew up watching *very* old movies (and later tv,) so I get all the references from the early seasons. She really set me up with a ton of resources for laughs and art. Thank you so much, Mom! ❤😃
One of my all-time favorites was the paranormal investigation parody. It had been years since SNL truly made me crack up. But that sketch had me in tears with laughter. 🤣🤣🤣
These were mostly aimed at particular TV shows, but I like The Californians as a send-up of soap operas in general, and Brian Fellow was OK at parodying nature documentary shows.
I'm wondering if MsMojo ever saw the McLaughlin Group. This is a parody of that particular show, not political panel shows in general. Host John McLaughlin did talk fast, had nicknames for frequent guests, put forth some confusing topics at times, and routinely told panelists their opinions were wrong. And the conversation did get loud. "Eleanor!!"
Truly. The best version of the sketch was when the real host came onstage, pushed Carvey out of the chair, and picked up the discussion the exact same way.
@@susancullimore5643 you’re likely right about that. To have a cast member of a show acting in the parody of that show is a significant tidbit to include in the narration.
@@anhurtorrez i rewatched it, I didn’t get a hint of that but I can be a little dense when my friends are implying or trying to hint to me what they’re trying to say. Seriously, drives them crazy.

The Kylo Ren Undercover Boss skit was something I HAD to watch due to how obsessed I was with the character and TFA (don't @ me). I don't think I ever saw SNL before that.
That's a great way to be introduced to SNL. Unfortunately not much else is going to top that skit. A couple are just as funny or close. But in my opinion that's the funniest skit in the show's history.
when i watched that episode of snl i thought "floribama shore" was made up, then i checked the snl hashtag on twitter to find out it was an actual show on mtv. mtv really likes being the worst
To be honest. I actually thought Larry David WAS Bernie Sanders. Even told my parents Bernie was on SNL when it aired. Lol then eventually realized later he wasnt.
Hi there! Your video was beautifully done but I would have really liked to have heard MORE of what the actors were saying during their skits. I appreciate your commentary, but it sort of takes over the whole thing. I apologize for being critical, it’s just my opinion

@@t.n.carhart1097 I've heard he was one of the most in-demand people for commencement addresses at universities.
Mr. Rogers apparently didn’t have a problem with since it was on so late. So no problem with his audience seeing it.
Fred Rogers was a legend.
I absolutely love the parody of undercover boss with adam driver as kylo ren 🤣😂😆🥰
Yessss! As a Kylo fan, I had to see this, despite not having seen SNL before (not by recollection, at least)!

Dan Aykroyd as Julia Child is an old favorite that still makes me laugh
Did not even know Floribama Shore was an actual show until the parody and the skit still killed it!
Same here.
The game of thrones jon snow parody was so brilliant 😂🤣😅
One of my all-time favorites was the paranormal investigation parody. It had been years since SNL truly made me crack up. But that sketch had me in tears with laughter. 🤣🤣🤣
#2 SHOULD have been the 2 "Undercover Boss" Adam Driver segments I laugh so much at them & rewatch them here on UA-cam
These were mostly aimed at particular TV shows, but I like The Californians as a send-up of soap operas in general, and Brian Fellow was OK at parodying nature documentary shows.
Inside The Actor's Studio skits with Will Ferrell needs to be on this list! 😆
Ong Keenan narrating the claire Danes impression is literally Amber Heard in court!!! Lol. The upside down frown got me lmao
You forgot all the greatJeopardy skits with Will Ferrell as Alex Trabec
They said SNL game show parodies would get their own video.
I still don't understand how MacGruber is still alive.
Mary-Kate & Ashley (2004) "The Swan" should've made the list & it should've been ranked very high.
I'd agree but you need a dark sense of humor to enjoy that the way we do lol, the masses do not have this ;)
The Office: Middle Earth...
YES! And the Japanese “Office” with Steve Carell😃!

Top 20 Times Mad TV Made Fun Of TV Shows
They did it better. Especially Medium and Cold Case Files
Yeah, watchmojo should make a list featuring MadTV
What about Adele as the Bachelorette. That was hilarious!
I want a parody of "The Umbrella Academy", now.
I hope you do another list. The Star Trek parody was pretty good.
We will!
@@MsMojo Thanks!
It does help that Larry and Bernie are second or third cousins
I miss Kristen wiig so much

The Rock N Roll heaven segment was funny.
Mojo didn’t do their homework, no mention that Janet Jackson wasn’t just in the SNL Good Times sketch, she was on the show Good Times.
I think that was why she was in the skit. I remember her.

Fred Rogers was humored by Eddie's take on him which is surprising.
