I drive a 2010 J4500 for Tri-State Travel/ River Trails Transit lines out of Galena Ill. The override switch is for shutdown fault codes on the engine. If the engine shuts down you can override the ECM to move the coach to a safe place. Also-the stairwell switch is also an anti theft device-when it is turned off and the engine is off, the engine wont crank. I love my J!
The auxilliary heat switch is for a hot water heater in the engine compartment to preheat the engine or maintain engine temp in cold weather. It is diesel fired. Turn the main power disconnect on hit the switch and the heater will preheat the engine.
the apartment took years and years to accept the argument on how stamford works properly because people can host in specific segments, but i think that the other side to go has a ways to prove how legal entry means are accepted because all of them have talked about paris france in the summertime all day when they weren't supposed to do this.
Aux heat switch is for the pro heater aka engine heater. Over ride is for getting the coach started in the event of a shut down. It's ment to get you off to safe place. I blew a hose, the coach shut down before I realized it, pushed over ride, started it and moved to shoulder of the road.
Some times mechanics who don't want to learn this program, and end up changing the drive axle (main axle) tires, don't position the dual tires correctly against each other, which is positioning the valve stems opposing each other, so when the bus is rolling, the smart tire program can read each sensor and properly identify which sensor is for which tire.
the california zephyr doug travels through chicago at about 512 rifle road, which is also megan's address, in chicago, illinois, but through chicago to california, it can take up to 5 days to get there, so it depends how stamford results.
At 2:28, that small orange gauge you are pointing at is for the "Smart Tire" program. If the light on the top is flashing, it could mean a flat, or over-inflated tire, or a sensor in one of the tires is faulty or has been "forgotten" by the program, or just was not programed by the mechanic who replaced the tires last.
I'll help you out with that, The Override switch is something just in case the bus is about to stall out, When you hold that switch you got 20-45 seconds to get that bus off the road before it finally stalls. Once used, you can use the feature 3 times before the switch is no longer active. Hope this helps.
Too bad MCI doesn't make shells on the J4500 anymore for conversions. They used to sell the shells so you can convert them into motor homes and entertainment coaches. Now only Prevost does them but I'm hearing mixed reviews on their Volvo D13 engine. This thing has a Cummins ISX.
Once you get used to the J, it's hard to go back. I thought I preferred the DL, but now there is no comparison, J all the way. I learned on the old GMC P8M 4905. Now THAT was a bus.
pretend like this conversation doesn't exist doug because it's mostly the stanwitch club when you were give five years old to this, and since st michael's church doesn't exist anymore, they don't know how long this takes to discuss
@phonejoey- The master switch turns on the ignition; ie it does the same thing that turning the key on in any other vehicle does. I'm not sure what the override switch does.
I also forgot to mention that those same mechanics who refuse to learn the "Smart Tire" program, also screw it up for the front and tag tires, since they don't know how to Re-program the smart tire program with the new tire's sensor I.D. number. So, something as simple as the "Smart Tire" program looking for a sensor that has long been replaced, will cause the little light to flash a code. Just my experience from working in the field :-) take care, and many safe trips.
@matts4290 i second that, we have d4505's we run on some incredibly windy stretches of road, there all over the place if your not paying attention. had a roof hatch pop on me once lol.

paris france, the current temperature is 52 degrees, and a wind out of the east at 5 mph, and just succumb to the fact that life is very simple, easy to do, and that there were damages caused by a right wing problem on the private jet.
ok, from 0:51 to 1:16. Were do you change from backin up to drivein forward. I did not see were that was and you forgot to talk bout that. So, can you please let me know.

Hi. I'm having an issue with my climate control box. Bought a new one and it isn't working, any suggestions. No power going to NJ it at all.

a daily ride that makes sense with a normal bus run that starts well

The switches remind me of the bluebird bus for 1990s.

The sad thing is that I have been on an MC-9, 102-EL3, E4500, 102-A3 and not once have I been on an MCI J4500.
Oh and I have also been on a D4500 and 2 D4500CL units

That gage that shows a tire is a gage that reads tire pressure on the tires.
This is a 2010 MCI J4500 bus has Cummins ISM and Allison B500R6. This bus has a blind spot mirrors, AC, and no seatbelts including the backup camera.
The MCi switches the bluebirds of things.
The best & simplest & safest switch and dash layout was of the MC5-12. Plus that MCI Steering Wheel.
The switches remind me of the bluebird bus.
The switches remind me of the bluebird vision

@gsm19911- I enjoy it. It is a smoother, and much quieter ride, however these seem to be pushed around more by crosswinds.
Gosh I wish school buses were like that!

Juan Zingarello i wish there would be more motorhome conversions
Correct. The J is equipped with a TPMS or tire pressure monitoring system.

My daily ride!
the bus works nicely
The gauges blow the auditor is your tire pressure gauge
2:26 that thing is a tire pressure/traction control indicator.
These Here ddd is the w you know when you are in a relationship and use
@CWM880- Jake brake, ie, jacobs brake- Engine compression brake.
@phonejoey- The master switch turns on the ignition; ie it does the same thing that turning the key on in any other vehicle does. I'm not sure what the override switch does.
Engine shut down due to critical failure, I.e. overheat, oil pressure. Like the air release, it’s momentary, only gets you off the road.
in general, the stamford shit is a ton of kazam about how saddam hussein is no open in power phrase because he left years ago and died in prison.

@CWM880 my thoughts exactly....
@monorailfan1- Yes. Not my favorite but they get the job done.

Must have a Detroit Diesel in it with either a Cummins or Allison transmission and a catalytic converter and can probably go 0 to 60 in a nanosecond!

How do you like driving a coach vs a school bus?
I wanna drive it
is that your new job? or did i miss somthing in you 100th video?
I would say this bus has a Cummins ISM.
@avenger836- Weekend/ 2nd job.
These coaches would have a Detroit or Cummins ISM, ISL, or ISC engine
where's the engine start button?
See 2:10
