Hi Azley. Thanks for spotting me immediately at KL Car Free Sunday. I guess my new cargo bike with its special design is an instant give-away. It was good to meet you - and glad that you like my channel + my new bike. In return, thanks for letting me try your Brompton. First time I try the new version of Brompton with the compact gears below the handle bar :-)
Cool bike. Cargo bikes are going to take off worldwide very soon. And the ebike systems are a perfect match for hills and starting from standstill at lights as you showed. The biggest problem will be finding somewhere secure to store them that is easy to manoeuvre it around. My Grandparents had an apartment with a downstairs storage room that you could use as a kind of bike garage. And then you would just need a ramp at the front door and it would be great.
I agree with you. Though possible, it is a bit cumbersome to bring the bike into the lift and up into the apartment. Will post a video, once I find a better solution :-)
Great video! It was nice to have a virtual ride through KL 🙂 Do you find that you get resistance from the motor when you physically push past that 25km/h assistance limit? If so, is it significant enough to cause you to notice or need to struggle against it?
Ebikes are the future, it will get the average person commuting by bike, and perhaps in Canada replace one of the family cars. This will only happen in infrastructure is there to support cycling, very car centred society with low tolerance for cyclists. Personally will keep to human power for my commute however it’s a great option. Great video as always, keep them coming love the Brampton and the cargo is cool.
Ebikes makes cycling a realistic option for more people, for example the elderly. And it the tropics, where I live, perspiration is an important factor why people don't bicycle (or even walk) outdoors, it is simply too hot and you become drenched in sweat. But with eBikes, the equation is different, and you can get around without sweating :-) in my home country of Denmark, where the average temperature is 8 degC, I would not be using an eBike, because the climate is cool enough not to sweat. But for big cargo bike like mine, a pedal-assist motor surely comes in handy no matter the climate, especially if you need to go up relatively steep hills.
mysustainablefuture anything that removes barriers to people cycling is great and the advent of the E-bike will remove barriers. Might have to try the E Brampton :-)
@@paulpercival5817 Agree, though we unfortunately in Denmark have seen several deaths from eBike by senior citizens, who perhaps thought they could start bicycling again, but were over-confident in doing so!
The truth is that I was eager to see some of his videos, since I find them very entertaining, I think you do a great job for this society, how to ride a bicycle in the city instead of taking any other vehicle. I really like this electric charging bike really looks really good because it has the electric motor in the same pedal axis which the answer is instantaneous, apart from a better weight distribution of the bike. I have a question you know the weight of the bike without load? Apart I see that the future goes through this type of vehicles both bicycles and electric scooters are an alternative to sustainable mobility for large cities where today both environmental and acoustic pollution is a problem. Greetings and I hope to see more videos with this cargo bike : D
I don't know the full weight of the bicycle, will try to find out :-) But from the Omnium website, here at the specifications for the bicycle as well as the weight for the frame+fork+steering rod (6.9 kg) and the standard rack weight (1.3 kg). More details here: omniumcargo.dk/omnium-cargo/
Hi I watch most of your videos, you are a good experience rider I also cycle and I did not cycle a bike with gear so I need advice how to handle the gear.At age thirty plus I go a motor cycle but realise I was pregnant so I gave up but at age sixty I go for it without my family knowing.I wrote them/c with clutch and auto I travel even to JB (quite often to Kulai & Jb alone. My speed below 100. I want to buy a small wheels bike maybe Brompton or any brand but not confirm yet. Because I do not know how to use gear. I can handle 10 footer truck too. I enjoy watch you cruising around happily. I used to feel the freedom when I am ridding. My sons is very against me ridding m/c so I sold my bikes. Can you gave mr tip& advice about handling the bike with gears. I keep watching your videos I like a small wheel bike 16 or 20 so I can travel it with me. because I was planning to rode to asia countries but did not make an attempt yet so I still want to go with bike. As you are a very excellent in handling bikes and very daring on the road. Thanks I am a Malaysian living in S'pore
Errhhh, are you riding bicycle up to 100 km/hour?! That sounds dangerous. Most bicycle gears are easy to use. I am sure you can learn how to use them. I suggest you go to bicycle shop and try out some different bicycles and their different gears. As for my own riding, yes, I am an experience bicycle rider, but I emphasize on safety first. It might look daring to you, but I only do bicycle moves that I feel are safe.
I bought it on the webshop: shop.omniumcargo.dk/ Without battery + motor, the cargobike costs USD2300 With battery + motor (as seen in video), the cargobike costs USD3900 The shipping was USD450 (it was air-freight, as they don't ship to Malaysia, so received it within a week) NB. The Danish 25% VAT was deducted, and surprisingly, the import duty to Malaysia was 0% :-)

Hi it's me Ash. We meet this evening at Rodalink Bangsar. Thanks for allow me to ride your bike.
Good to meet you. Glad you liked the cargo bike and the powerful electric motor :-)
This bike is noticeably easier to get it up to speed, and it seems to carry momentum well. I love it.
It great. A real pleasure to ride. And the acceleration is very smooth and silent :-)

Do you find that you get resistance from the motor when you physically push past that 25km/h assistance limit? If so, is it significant enough to cause you to notice or need to struggle against it?
Yes, I definitely feel when the motor turns off at 25 km/h. So, often I will be riding right around that speed, when the motor kicks in and out.
Great video. You inspired me to get a Brompton and see the world on two wheels.
So, will I also inspire you to get a cargo bike? ;-)
Love your videos. Very interesting.
Thanks, glad to hear that. I'm trying to spread the word about the merits of cycling with the posting of these videos :-)

how to charge cargo bike? is use solar panel?
I have not done direct charging, yet
if there any problem your cargo bike, is available shop in Malaysian for repair
No, not at the moment, but the Basikal shop in Bangsar (Malaysia), will soon be selling the bikes, so hopefully they can also provide service
6 years in, how is the Shimano motor and drive train holding up?
You need to install a side mirror for safety.
Will consider it. Thanks :-)
is cargo bike can speed 40mph???
Yes, with ebike tuner it is possible. The motor continues to work until 50 km/hour
i see you did the "jump out of a plane" strapping method there.

I looked into it, but decided not to. Quite expensive, and I honestly enjoy the exercise that comes with bicycling :-)
