- Need empty eggshells for an Easter craft project? I CRACKED THE CODE using power tools (drill and an air compressor) and discovered the FASTEST way to BLOW OUT or HOLLOW EGGS.
I used a 3/32" bit in my drill and an air compressor set on low, approximately 40 PSI.
You might also need duct tape, a batter bowl and an egg cup.

I'm not sure why this was suggested to me. I've been doing this for years. You don't need the tape, and you don't need a second hole. You can blow the yolk out of the same single hole. Even with an ostrich egg, you can blow all of it out of a single 3-4mm wide hole.
