Boil water (6x the volume of your small sago). Add in sago. Stir slowly until sago floats. Lower heat to medium. Cook for 15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes. Put off heat. Cover pot. Keep sago in the hot water for 20 minutes. Wash and drain. This is for small sago. For big sago, cook 30 minutes. Steep in hot water for an hour. Wash and drain.
It is like sago but it comes from buri (a type of palm tree). It is widely available here in the Visayas and Mindanao. You can omit and replace with sago.

Landang is the native sago from the buri tree. My understanding is that it is available only in Visayas and Mindanao. Just use more sago instead.

How to cook this with uncooked small sago?
Boil water (6x the volume of your small sago). Add in sago. Stir slowly until sago floats. Lower heat to medium. Cook for 15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes. Put off heat. Cover pot. Keep sago in the hot water for 20 minutes. Wash and drain. This is for small sago. For big sago, cook 30 minutes. Steep in hot water for an hour. Wash and drain.

If using fresh coconut milk, how many coconuts in all?
4 large coconuts
@@ChefRoseofCaroandMarieCebu thank you so much!
Hello Chef Rose, magandang araw po.Pwede pong malaman kung ilan yield po ito? Maraming salamat po sa pag share.🙏❤️🤗
This will make about 2 gallons.
Thank you so much Chef Rose.God bless 🌹👍🙏
Can I use Po rice flour Wala Po Kasi Dito glutinous rice flour.salamat po
No ma'am. You can't.
hi chef.sa 8 ka lubi pila ka cups of water ang 1st gata og pila ka cups of water ang 2nd gata.???
4 cups thick coconut milk. 20 cups thin coconut milk. Adjust water to add to grated coconut to get the amount needed. A little extra is not a problem.
@@ChefRoseofCaroandMarieCebu thank u Chef..
Ano po Yan landang
It is like sago but it comes from buri (a type of palm tree). It is widely available here in the Visayas and Mindanao. You can omit and replace with sago.
Bakit may salt po?
Salt when added to coconut milk brings out the full flavor of the coconut milk and takes away the “umay” taste.
