Hey Jeremy! Great reaction, love your videos. Stevie Ray met Jeff at a small venue in 1985 and was so impressed that he met up with him afterwards and he actually boosted Jeff's career. He is very well accomplished in the music industry. You'll have to pull up some oh his music. He's a total top tier player. Have a great day!
Jeff Healy and his band were the "House Band" in the movie Roadhouse. You really have to check out As The Years Go Passing By live at Stuttgart, his playing and vocals on that one are insane.
Jeff had many hit songs. He had an incredible voice.. Stevie was being Stevie. But some of those licks were coming from Jeff. Thank you for your reaction. I'm off to the track.
Stevie was never one to try and outshine anyone he played with (unless they *told* him to just cut loose); he had no problems with letting someone else have the spotlight. He and his band once went on tour with BB King. SRV was really hot at that time and BB was going to be the opening act while SRV & DT headlined. When Stevie found out, he was PISSED. He told management that BB opens for NO ONE. Management talked him down and everyone agreed they could take turns being the opening act for the other.
Getting to see Jeff Healey live is one of my favorite memories! THIS performance would have been top of my list had I been graced with being able to see it live! Thanks! ❤
@@musikbyjh Oh, the tales I could tell after 15 years in Radio! In the 80's and early 90's, I was able to see a LOT of artists up close and personal. Interviews, concerts and backyard BBQs. I wouldn't give that part of my life up for any amount of money! 😉 Like you, even in the industry, I'd never heard of Jeff Healey until Roadhouse came out in 89. Once I saw him in that, I had to see him live! I hope your birthday was amazing! Work has been crazy, but I'll be here with bells on tomorrow! Love to Jillian, too! ❤
Anyone who has a band named after him has it going on. That would be the Jeff Healey Band. He's also in the movie Road House, which I highly recommend.
George Harrison and Jeff Lynne added tracks to Jeff’s recording of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. BB King thought of him like a son. Please explore more with Jeff. “See the Light” “As the Years Go By” “Confidence Man”. He was a throwback; playing great blues guitar at a time when overproduced and bland was the norm.
We named a park in Etobicoke (Toronto) after our hometown boy. We dearly miss Jeff! Jeff's "See the Light" is a banger. The live version with Dr. John the Night Tripper is amazing.
Jeff is right up there with stevie. You definitely got to watch more Jeff Healey and same as stevie, always watch the live versions. If I may suggest Jeff healey playing "as the years go by". You will not regret it
Someday you’ll have to check out Stevie and DT doing this song from the Austin 1989 show. There’s a little nugget during that performance that’s pretty cool. Also love to see you react to a few other songs from that 1989 Austin show: “Mary Had a Little Lamb” “Leave My Girl Alone” and for sure, “Voodoo Child.”
You MUST go down the Jeff Healey rabbit hole
See Jeff Healy "As the Years Go Passing By" live at the Stuttgart Jazz Fest. Healy at his best both on guitar and vocally. An AMAZING solo too.
Yes please.

I watched a vid on yt where jeff jumped up played behind his head and stomped his guitar all while still playing. It was amazing!
This was recorded in 1987. Jeff was 21 at the time and got better.
We named a park in Etobicoke (Toronto) after our hometown boy. We dearly miss Jeff!

I think Jeff was of the very players who could keep up with Stevie.
Check out Stevie Ray Vaughan in Nashville TN live "Voodoo Child" ?
