In my unfortunately closed metalbar in my hometown this song was the closer and at that point of the Evening everyone drummed the intro on their tables on the bar at eachother and sang the song till the end...still gives me chills....

The first 4 albums..... utter masterpieces. The 5th, classic in parts. Thrilling to watch you experience it for the first time. Makes me feel 15 again.

Dude, the live version with their former band members is amazing, 3 drummers and 3 ridiculous guitarists.
Eric Adams is, in my opinion, the best metal singer. His range is insane and yes, his voice can be beautiful too. Listen to Gates of Vahalla intro to get more of how great his range is. He also does an opera song called Nessun Dorma. To really appreciate Manowar, watch their live videos. Though their studio songs are great, they are even better live. There is so much energy coming off the stage, you can't help but bang your head and pump your fist. To quote a part of their lyrics from the song Metal Daze, it perfectly describes Manowar

Manowar is called Kings Of Metal for a reason :) trust me you want to see/hear this song live (with all the current/former members) that was epic beyond epic. 3 sets of drums, 3 guitarists, 1 Eric and Joey, choir, orchestra, guitar battle etc... that was a show. The only more epic song you can find is

Agreed! "Achilles Agony.." is one of the first metal operas and insanely epic! The whole Triumph of Steel album (what is my favourite) is a masterpiece, with one of the best heavy metal songs ever: The power of thy sword !

It wrecks me to know that the metal world doesn't mention Eric Adams in the same breath as Halford and Dio. Eric is way more complete - from a raging beast to an angel in seconds, with the wildest screams in metal to tear jerking ballads. I just fuckin love him!

so sad you never had a chance to withness Manowar's drummer Scot Columbus he had such a hard play style that he played a stainless steel drumset because of his heavy hitting his so called "Drums of Doom" , sadly he passed away 2011 :( he was such a great person =)
