I think it would be cool, personally I've always really liked batman beyond so it would be pretty sick to play as Terry, but they would have to figure out how to make that make sense narratively.

Why's red hood the weirdest one of them all? He did come back from the dead and this version seems to tap on his hidden abilities given to him as a result of bathing in the lazarus pit, don't ask how he has mystical bullets tho
Imo instead of giving him the ability to repeatedly jump on air on magical platforms, they should've changed it to a single powerful leap to jump from one building to another, based on how long the button is pressed down.

Honestly bet Joker will be shoehorned in towards the end either in the same way as Arkham Knight or in a flashback DLC or in a similar cameo like The Batman or Snyder Cut
My issue with Gotham nights is it does not feel authentic to the Gotham universe/Batman lore. When rocksteady did their Arkham series, it was immediately obvious right out the gate, that these developers understood Gotham at its core. They did their homework, their research, they had their own flair but with complete respect and understanding of this universe/world/characters. So it was authentic and genuine in a incredible way. Montreal can do their own game here in this universe. Hell any developer group could do that. That’s not the issue. The issue is authenticity. The issue is what is your priority, what is your most important approach with this project. If you’re focused passionately on being respectful and having a clear understanding of this pre-existing source material, and being genuine and authentic to that… Then the game can take on whatever format or structure from there because at its core it’s going to be authentic and genuine. However I think Montreal did not lean this direction. Through these trailers and gameplay reveals and developer interviews, I see sign after sign of inauthenticity and disingenuousness. Two different varying degrees of course but it’s there. I see a emphasis on developer wants and desires and their own agendas and simply using this universe to manifest those. Which intern creates a disconnect for me and I’m sure many others. Because this source material, this pre-existing source material, it’s established. You can’t just neglect it or ignore it or twisted into whatever you want for your own personal desires. That becomes sacrilegious if you will, it’s disrespectful and it disconnects. Plus the more you make it about your own wants and desires like it some social media project, the less entertaining it becomes. Because entertainment at its core is escapism. It’s being able to envelop yourself into a creative project where your entire passion and focus is on being authentic to it and bringing it to life in the most truest sense possible. So like I said, Montreal could do their own thing with the structure of the game and their approach, as long as they’re being authentically respectful of the pre-existing source material. This world and these characters and understanding that and representing that accurately. Of course I could make this argument about any game or show or movie in the entertainment industry as the more passion that is put into being authentic and genuine with the project and its source material, if there is any, the greater the entertainment is/escapism is. The more you get away from that, the more of a disconnect the areas and a self-serving approach that is disingenuous or in most cases disrespectful, especially when pre-existing source material is involved. So between the developer interviews and the gameplay reveals, what is said, the dialogue in the game, the movement and gameplay and character models, the tone and direction, it all comes across as very inauthentic to me at least. It feels like what epic games would do with this universe in regards to implementing it in Fortnite. Where you change part of the map and give it the Gotham skin, and then you take your avatars and give them Batman character skins. And then you sit there and call it Gotham and back characters. And that’s not Gotham, that’s not Batman or the Batman characters. We know this because it’s just copy paste skins simply taking use of a popular franchise and manifesting that or manipulating it to a developers on wants and desires. And that’s what it feels like with what Montreal is doing here with Gotham Knights. It feels like they prioritize too much of themselves, and their own wants and desires or agendas with the game, and then simply used the universe like a skin to throw on top of that. Which obviously makes it feel inauthentic and disingenuous. Maybe I’m alone in this deduction and sentiment but yeah. And the price model for the game is fucking stupid. You get this game on Consol and it’s either $70 or $90. What the fuck? So I don’t know. I just can’t really get into it. Maybe down the road after more reviews are done, but even then I don’t know. It’s like Ryan Reynolds finally making a movie to show off Deadpool and doing it in a authentic way that is respectful to the actual core/lore of the character and its pre-existing history. And then he does Deadpool two the same way with the same approach and respect. And then all the sudden a different producer group gets involved for Deadpool three, and they decide to make a PG version. It’s like what the fuck? You literally just lost me. Because that instantaneously tells me that you were holding Deadpool back. That you’re toning it down, or playing it safe for whatever reason. Having already experienced the character in a very authentic and genuine way, I don’t want to see the character anything less than that. So in this case, rocksteady presented gotham and these characters in a very authentic and genuine way which we all loved. So that’s the standard to follow. Montreal doesn’t have to do the same thing like I said, but they need to match that authenticity and genuineness with this pre-existing source material and this world and these characters. And I don’t get that from them.
Dude it’s just a game; the comics have been around almost 80 years and the lore has change over the years. For instance when Batman first debuted in the comics the guy used a gun;When they first introduced robin the comics became campy. It wasn’t until frank Miller dark knight the comics became dark again; before that the comics were like Adam west show. Also you are not accounting for all the animated,movies, tv shows,the multiverse, and constant reboots of the comics;so their is no definitive version. Fans today are still debating whether Batman kills or not;the killing joke comics implies that Batman kills the joker. I’m live and breath Batman ; I literally have tons of comics ,graphic novels, statues , everything you can mustered I have and I’m telling you this is like the other games. Also this is not the first Batman game wb Montreal has produce; they probably have some of the same people that worked on the Arkham games.
You obviously have never heard of rubber bullets, Police use these to stop riots without actually killing anyone. So yeah non-lethal bullets are actually a thing, it's not the game developers reaching.

They pack harder punches, the enemies feel like people/beings instead of ragdolls, and the versatility makes you form your own choreography when properly mastered (especially in Sifu). Ive been playing Arkham Knight these past couple of days due to the Gotham Knights hype, and I found the movement quite restrictive. When you’re not hitting enemies, you awkwardly jump over them or roll aside, it made me miss the newer quick-step mechanic to keep the feel of dynamic choreography
