I don't think I've ever teleported away from an encounter so quickly. Even in BoTW, I tried to fight a guardian the first time I saw one. I did not attempt to fight gloom hands the first time I encountered them.
@@jet30yblack47 Whenever I play OoT, I always wait until after I’ve acquired the Goron’s Ruby to get the Sun’s Song-by then I have a bit more strength and courage.
I cannot believe the gloom hands are considered scarier than the guardians. Seriously, the guardian music at a frantic pace and the fact these things can OHKO Link was menacing.
to be fair, if you have an ancient shield, it auto-parries the laser and OHKOs the guardian instead. as long as you have the parry timing down, the guardians are no problem. However, the gloom hands come out of nowhere in relatively mundane locations and grab you before sucking the life out of you. I'd take a guardian over gloom hands any day.
Guardians are way scarier at first. Yeah they become easier near the end of the game, but they are stilll fun. Gloom hands are startling at first, but really just annoying.
Guardians aren't scary at all though. More of an inconvenience. *music kicks in* "Ugh, one of these. Alright, let's kill you real quick" *deflects the Guardians beam back at it until the Guardian dies* "Aand moving on". Or I'll just ignore them entirely. A fun thing to do, is deflect its beams back at it with the worst shield possible.
If you decide to ever pick one up, my personal recommendation is to avoid Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom until you've gotten to play a few. Its not that they are bad, but they strayed pretty far away from the formula and style that got most people to fall in love with the series.
I came here to say Ocarina of Time as well. I know it's kind of cliché to say it, but it truly is the best game in my opinion. Story, game play, characters, side quests, it has it all. For decades other games have been implementing mechanics that Ocarina of Time introduced as the standard, it was THE generational video game of the 3D Era
I think Null from Echoes of Wisdom deserves a spot. Both his body which we travel through, and the many forms of his core, are nightmare fuel. Especially when paired with his lore.
The Seahats design didn't scare me as much as their size did tbh 💀 dawg they look so much smaller from far away until they get really close it still somewhat freaks me out
@@pooky-bellegaming4089 Oh yeah same for me. It wasn't scary but more unsettling. Also I was like 12-14 when i first played WW so that was also a factor lmao
There's a recurring boss enemy called Facade that's more annoying than scary, but it's a GIANT FACE on the ground that MAKES THE GROUND LEVITATE IN CHUNKS AND FLY AT YOU.
I think skulltulas are the most terrifying in Skyward Sword. Because they will wrap all their legs around you if you’re too slow. I’m not even that much of an arachnophobe, but there’s something about being hugged by a spider that makes my skin crawl.
The creepy part about redead is when you kill one the body remains there for a brief period and even more creepy is that when the body is there and there are more redead around they will walk over to it and looks like theyvstart either crying over it or devouring it.
Dead hand felt gross and disturbing and hella scary in my opinion. Gloom hands did scare me at first, but they became as easy as the other enemies as I progressed. However, skull spiders and goma is the worst for me period. I feel like screaming whenever one pops on my scream. The Goma in TOTK is tame, but still has me wanting to scream
Windwaker redeads win for me simply because of that sound… and the red eyes too… like I had to cover my eyes at that part when I watched my parents play it as a kid
Death Sword actually wasn't a prisoner, he was the warden/executioner, at least if I remember it right from one of my many readthroughs of the Lore Books
I actually found this video hard to watch. Some of the sounds and music stressed me out even though I’m not playing anything. I forgot how scared I am of most of these enemies.
I know I beat Twilight Princess but have zero recollection of any of the enemies from it on this list. I guess it’s been 18 years already. I’m getting old
Aesthetically the Redeads are the most terrifying! Specifically, the ones from Twilight Princess! But nothing ever has and probably never will again fill me with the visceral horror of that piano riff and high-pitched beeping when a guardian spots you and starts powering up its laser in BOTW! Can't believe the Guardians aren't even on this list as they are the most terrifying thing ever! Oh, and the creepiest boss is by far the Dead Hand from Ocarina of Time! Ok technically I think it's a miniboss, but that thing is still totally nightmare inducing! Gloom hands mildly startled me the first time I came across them, but I very soon realized that they are pathetically easy to deal with and all of my initial fear vanished! They are so not even in the same league as the Guardians! Honestly they're on the same level as wallmasters and floormasters. Also, Phantom Ganon is even easier to deal with than the hands.
The undead enemy from Twilight Princess that you call ReDeads are in fact NOT ReDeads; they’re Gibdos-specifically Gibdo Knights. In Hyrule Warriors, there are ReDeads-called ReDead Knights; they look like Gibdo Knights, but are purple-black in color.
@@pooky-bellegaming4089 Been a long time since I played Twilight Princess... but anyway the only difference in Redeads and Gibdos is that Gibdos are wrapped in bandages like mummies. So you say the silent realm gaurdians aren't scary. They gave such horrible, crippling anxiety that I still can't believe that I completed all the silent realms in the gamecube version. I want to play the switch version, but memory of those stupid gaurdians always stops me 😅
