As someone suffering myopia since childhood, I have had to deal with Toneh without my corrective lenses. While some choose to fight the blurry background in their lives, in my latter years I have come to embrace it. Thanks to smartphone technology I can watch videos without my glasses and everything beyond my arm's reach is in glorious Toneh. Toneh is not just cinema -- it is life for the visually-challenged.

  • @BoRisMc

I believe Toneh to be a further reaching philosophical and artistic concept. It serves to illustrate the utmost isolation of the individual in modern society, where social media and big corporations act as catalyst of the obliteration of social communitarianism. In Tony’s famous Toneh-construct establishing video, we clearly see a contemporary human making a desperate call for help, much like we already saw in other masterpieces such as ‘the scream’ by Edvard munch or any of Edward Hopper’s works on the theme. Tony will pass to history as one of the seminal figures of american neo expresionism and philosophical solipsism. What a time to be alive

@@dirtymusicassette It was about the EOS-R. Where Toneh spends the whole time saying "We don't need 4K" probably because the EOS-R can only do 4K in a Micro four thirds crop.
And talking about how cinematic the image was. He walked towards the camera until he was just a talking head shot with canon's autofocus struggeling to keep his left eyebrow in focus, on a full frame camera with a 50mm lens fully open at Toneh1.2 at a lake. Probably one of the most painful things to watch. For anyone wondering, Movies are most of the time done at 2.8(some stop down to 4 or even 8) on an APS-C sized sensor.

I think we MISSED one on the ANGER CHART, boss...I know I've already been fired, but there is actually a ZERO {0} on the Toneh Scale below Peaceful...It's ZEN. Zen is when there is NO Toneh, as in the GoPro Hero 8. I've seen it. I actually fell asleep during your review of the GoPro Hero8...it was so Zen-like, I couldn't help it!

I'm actually not allowed to tell you, but there is even a T -1 step.
It's only achieved on a small sensor fix focus action cam, no focus hunting, no wobbly stabiliser, just pure infinite focus into NIRVANA

I just love this channel, that was a great monologue, what it was about I've no idea, but great nonetheless, spooky music too... Oooooh, hell is there an owl in here, with all that Toneh going on it was hard to see through f2.
    Good stuff man.

As Tony would no doubt say if he were here, Gaussian irradiance profiles are symmetric around the center of the beam and decrease as the distance from the center of the beam perpendicular to the direction of propagation increases, where I0 is the peak irradiance at the center of the beam, r is the radial distance away from the axis, w(z) is the radius of the laser beam where the irradiance is 1/e2 (13.5%) of I0, z is the distance propagated from the plane where the wavefront is flat, and P is the total power of the beam. So...yeah toneh. But what's not as commonly factored in is Gaussian shift, which is that the intensity of a focused beam in a target at a fixed distance (L) away from the lens is not maximized when the waist is located at the target. Achieving a truly collimated beam where the divergence is 0 is not possible, as everybody knows. Oh that Tony.

Complete genius. 'f5.6. Let's be real now' Hidden in your videos are pearls of wisdom that are not available in more serious sites.
Let's all try and keep at level 2.
Thanks for making me smile. I hope a certain Tony Northwood (!!) is paying attention.

I am new to videography but have learned much from your videos. Your combination of humor and educating is excellent; you are very talented brother, t you for these videos..this will continue to grow!
P.S. I’m new to the Fuji film system (xt4:Xf16-55mm f4)but may end up going Sony side. Your videos are helping me in the auto focus conundrum! (A7siii anyone?)
