      Does your burn any oil? I always wanted a Subaru and now I really want a WRX. I'm liking the price also if I can get it for MSRP. Just want to know if they burn oil or have head gasket problems, but I've read their turbo engines are build stronger than their non turbo or maybe that problem was only limited to ones from years ago?

    • @ITSMINECRAFTTIME32
      @ITSMINECRAFTTIME32 2 роки тому

      @@truckergilligangilligan5877 headgaskets are non issues on turbo models the oil burn will be a little common on these engines and natural with the design since they are flat engines the way the PCV system circulates it just naturally happens on my FA20 WRX the most I’ve seen is about half a quart and it has 60,000 miles. There are after market fixes for this which are AOS’s specifically the one designed by IAG.

    I think the Base is a bargain, bang for the buck. I don't know of any new car that has its features (engine power, awd, usable 4 seats, competent handling, etc) at anything close to the price. As you move up in the models I think the competition gets closer. But around $32k, the Base hard to beat.

      The wrx has always been amazing for the money. Add in the fact that these things can chug through a few feet of snow and ice and there's nothing that can beat it. Even in my base impreza, I can go where friends can't make it in their 4wd trucks. I was shocked at how easily these handle snow

    It’s a big displacement 2.4 engine with low boost 12psi which will be more consistent and more reliable. The Elantra N runs a 2.0 with 19psi for the same performance. The corolla GR runs a 1.6 mini engine with 22 psi.. the wrx will also be far more responsive to aftermarket tuning

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  2 роки тому +8

      Fair but the toyota 1.6 I3 has held a ton of power on stock internals and been fairly reliable. Boost pressure/turbo size doesn't always equate to more or less reliable.

    • @SuzukiKid400
      @SuzukiKid400 2 роки тому +13

      @@Realistick it absolutely does mean it will be more reliable. More pressure means more stress. It also means you need to run higher octane fuel. Also, a larger displacement motor can make a flatter torque curve. The most important stat that nobody quantifies is the area under the entire torque curve rather than the meaningless peak figure.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  2 роки тому +5

      @@SuzukiKid400 If all else is constant, yes, it would be more reliable. What I am saying is that it is not that simple and there are exceptions ALL of the time. The new GTI doesn't need high octane fuel yet runs at 26 psi. Turbo size is also a big factor. Even some high compression engines like mazda's skyactiv series do not need (nor recommend in some cases) high octane. Low range power is hard to quantify (without a graph) and very important, I agree there, but there are many ways to go about improving a powerband. All I am saying is that while certain trends are true, there are too many exceptions to make assumptions.

Infotainment looks way better to my eyes than the massive tablet looking thing in the higher trims, and it still has android auto. I don't want 18" wheels, I want some tire sidewall in my subaru, and less grip and more slide because it's fun. The base in Canada comes with heated seats, heated mirrors and auto climate control. I’m not sure why Subaru won’t allow a stick in the GT and also no EYESIGHT in any of the manuals. All that being said, if I was 30, single, and had a good clutch leg, I’d get the Limited Trim in manual with the Harmon/Kardon upgrade. Stage 1 this mf’r and she’d be a bad ass.

    But man, i love the stock exhaust note.
    Cool cars for what they are.
    And that is dumping the clutch at a red arrow and watching everyone scratch their heads.
    On the highway, it's no slouch. Basically, it is a RT in the straights with much better mpg and wear and tear on components.
    Do yourself a favor and buy a knob around 450 grams. I was a bit nervous when i felt the trunk weight when i purchased since i use it everytime, throwing my back pack and gear before driving off. The trunk was designed never to fail period. The car is 100% 50/50 weight. This car holds 4 six foot men no issues. No parasitic draw. I "set" my clutch (didnt even know i did) after about 8 montha of ownership and smelled clutch after hitting it hard. That has never happend since then. The steering is the best. The HVAC controls are perfect.
    My only gripe... (I've driven all trim levels except TR) the suspension is harsh in parking lots.

In my book or how I saw it, Hopefully Im not alone in this, but WRX was equivalent to a GT trim. It essentially was honesty, Then the WRX STi was the same as GT-R, GT500, Z06, GT-RS, or an R series. Now Im not talking in terms of performance or even saying they are the same as that said car. No! Im strickly talking in terms of Trim Hierarchy or Trim progression. So when you tell me "Hey I have a WRX GT!" All I hear is "Hey I have a GT GT" Literally makes no sense.

I drove a 2023 GT today with 1500 miles on the dealership did 1k break in just for test drives. They gave me the car for 2 hours by myself and I drove it. Hard. I’m 100% new to paddle shifters and they are not my thing. I tried to like it. It felt weird even with 8 gears and running on highway driving like an ass the whole time I’m talking steady cursing around everyone at 95 holding 4500-5000 rpm for 1 whole hour without interruption and minimal slowdown. I can't count how many times i have been vacuuming a Honda or Toyota and had the carpet literally fall apart or pull away from the edges where is supposed to be tucked. Not to mention how easy it is to stain the plastic in a Honda. You might like the style of the Honda, but it is not nearly as well built as the price would suggest

    Overpriced for what you get. The body cladding is ugly, requires premium fuel, and even then (even by Sports sedan standards) the fuel economy is just bad. Seriously, an enthusiast would be better off tracking down a used example of the previous Gen. WRX, spending some money to fix it up, and then driving around in an actually good-looking Subaru then going for this new version. Even in base trim.
