Well illustrated Dave....thanks....look forward to additional videos.
Thanks Dave, I've been waiting for this. The panels are quite comprehensive, but it's fun to work with them. Have a good one!
Finally a comprehensive video on TK7 panel. I have been waiting for this for a long time. Thank you Dave. Looking forward to the series on this subject.
Thanks Dave. Very good explaining the way to work. Keep them coming 👍🏼 There aren’t much people that can explain it the way you do...
I like the way you explain things in a simplistic way and easy to understand method of teaching. I look forward to your other videos on luminosity masking.
I’m really glad to see this new series, Dave. I’ve only had the TK Panels for about a month, and I don’t know what took me so long to look into it. No Photoshop user should be without it.
Thank you Dave ... Being an "old dog" trying to learn "new tricks" myself, I'm appreciating your approach.
Thank you 🙏🏻 keep em coming. Enjoying this series. Very helpful
I've been trying to figure these masks out for over a year this is an amazing video really helped me, Thank you!!
Thanks. Your tutorials are constantly excellent.
Excellent presentation, Dave. Thank you,
Learned a lot from this tutorial as usual. Thanks a lot Dave
You have made sense of this powerful tool for me. Forward Ho. Thanks
At last, a clear and concise video explaining how to use the TK Panel. Keep them coming Dave!
Excellent tutorial Dave. Thank you.
Bring on the next one, you have a great delivery Dave.
Thanks Phil.
2:36 Nice rhyme :P
BTW very good information in simplified words
Excellent video! TK7 is a dream app. More please!
Thanks Dick. More will be on the way.
Thank's Dave
You are welcome Paul.
Great stuff, Dave. When would you use the dodge/burn stencil technique you showed vs. using a luminosity mask and a Curves adjustment layer to lighten those light areas (and darken the dark areas)?
You can actually do it either way Roger. If you had a lot of dodge and burn layers the selection method would give you a smaller file size because you wouldn't have luminosity masks attached to each layer. With the selection method you could add a layer mask and edit your dodge or burn layer with it (say you wanted to remove a bit of the dodging or burning or tone it done in some areas). With the Luminosity Mask method you would have to put your mask in a group to edit your dodge or burn layer. It really comes down to the method that you prefer using. I hope this makes sense.
Dave great stuff...you have one on Frequency Separation But I cannot find it. can you help pls. Thanks
Thanks Tom. Here is the link for the Frequency Separation: ua-cam.com/video/0GM3V4wmuKw/v-deo.html
Hi Dave, I watched your you-tube video. ( introduction to TK7go panel ) and I loved it my immediate thought was I could learn from you . But is there any way that you could include your images for download I have tried to use my own images to follow you but it just does not work well if you could do this it would be so helpful. Thanks Dave
Thanks Barry. I forgot to add a link for this stock image. If you go back to the description you will see that it is now there. The only time I don't provide downloads is when I am using my own images. To save you from looking, just click on this download link: unsplash.com/photos/DlkF4-dbCOU
Thank you Dave I have had the TK panels since 2017 and never used them . But now I know I am going to start learning thank you so much it is really appreciated. Is the image you used for the Introduction to TK7 Go panel an upslash image as well if so I will look for it. Thanks again Dave .............Barry
You are welcome Barry. I believe it was Barry. I do provide the download link for that image in the description below the video.
Thanks for the video Dave but for me, to much information at the beginning. Swopping the position of panels, workspaces etc. It was 3 minutes in before you got to the Dodging and Burning bit. As you mentioned this could and probably should be another video.
You’re welcome Mike. I hear you but it was the first video in the series and I thought I should cover it. Oh well, what can I say. Thanks for the constructive feedback.
I just started a deep dive into luminosity masks,, I have tk9..When dodging and burning, how do I modify the masks?
I would suggest watching some of my Full Edit TK9 tutorials. I do a lot of dodging and burning through masks and I think these videos will help you.
Thanks
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly I have watched quite a few. You are a Very quick talker. I wish there was just a tutorial on dodging and burning without sky seperation or blend if's right now. I appreciate your method of separating the sky and foreground, but need to learn it in baby steps first.
Hey, Dave, new comer to TK7... Right off the bat, I am having difficulty undocking my panels to move them around....I know its just a click and drag but not happening... Any Ideas?
Make sure you are dragging the top of the panel only. Don't drag on the 4 horizontal Menu lines of the panel. You can drag on the panel name or the blank space near the panel name but not on the horizontal Menu lines.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly thanks Dave... after I sent message I discovered I had my workspace locked... unlocked and it works. Thank you, enjoy your videos and now onto mastering this tk7 panel
@@sherrykalczynski8996 you’re welcome Sherry and good to hear you can now move your panels. 👍
Dave....just a little technical note. Opacity of a brush is NOT additive. If you paint twice with 50% opacity over the same area, you do NOT get 100% opacity. What you do get is 75% opacity: 50% plus 50% of the 'remaining' 50% transparency. Theoretically, if you paint over and over again with 50% opacity you will never get the full 100%. You just cut down the remaining transparency by 50%
Thanks Bob this I good info to know.
I suggest you speak a little slower as likely you have lots of fans whose first language is not English. Your vocabulary is totally within range of most English as a 2nd language speakers. The video is excellent.
