Agree with most of the points you made in the video. It’s my third prime x strung pair and I’m absolutely obsessed with the shoes. The latest gen fits me more snug than the previous and I like the way upper wraps around my feet. The shoe is so much more stable and provide snappier feedback that makes me forget about extra weight
Thanks eddbud 👍 , mmm I'm on the fence about it ( $450 dailycruiser 😮💨), ill finish of the strung v1 with a smile on the dial 😀 , I think I'll save $230 bucks and get the boston 12 sounds more fun and better value 😀
Great review Edd, fun, informative, and fun again, all the things one needs from a shoe review! Bravo. Might pick it up if I can find a good discount. I do adore the prime X strung v1. It's a masterpiece, STILL. 700 miles later!
It's great to hear about the increase width. I usually size up half an inch because of how narrow toe boxes are nowadays. But, the Prime X Strung fit me much larger than expect at 11. I think these would do well at 10.5.
Got mine today and took it out on a 9-mile run immediately at 8'/mile average pace with some miles at slower speeds (9~10'/mile) and some at faster paces (6:15~7'/mile) and it's very good although it doesn't have the "wow" fun factor of the v1. It's definitely more stable and also firmer. I think the dual carbon plates have something to do with that. It's bouncy but more reserved than v1. I pretty much agree with everything you say, Ed. It's a different shoe altogether from v1 and that's fine with me. It can go fast and it feels and rides lighter than its weight. My US size 8 is 9.9oz (280g), which is almost identical to my Invincible Run 2, SC Trainer, More v4, and Gel-Nimbus 25, in the same size, but it feels and rides like one ounce (28g) lighter and is much more propulsive and a lot faster than all of them. The weight does start dragging on the feet at faster paces for extended distances but feels just fine for moderate-to-easy paces. I can say this for sure: it is NOT a brick. I'd be happy to go on 15~20-mile easy/slow runs with this and tempo paces for 10 miles are fine as well. I didn't push to an all-out 5:00/mile pace today and it's probably not ideal, but I think the PX2S can handle it for short distances. The improved stability on this is welcome although I also didn't have any stability issues with v1. Of course, I do need to be more mindful when turning corners and cambered surfaces and pay more attention to potholes and other obstacles than I would with other shoes, but stability has not been a problem at all with v1 for me. The wider heel base does make going downhill easier and turning corners does feel noticeably more stable now so that's a good thing. Do I love this shoe as much as I love PXS v1? No, it doesn't have the same magic, but it's got its own thing going and is more practical. It'll be really good for long distance cruises although it does feel noticeably firmer than v1. I expect the LSP foam to get a little softer with more break-in but not much. LSP never was and never will be a soft squishy foam. It's still very protective, though, and my feet and legs felt fresh after the 9-mile run as I expected. There's something about the LSP's bounce, energy return, and ride that are like no other. Personally, I love it and prefer it over any other brand's foam. The PX2S is firmer than PXS but still has that unmistakable Adizero feel and ride. I enjoyed my maiden run on the PX2S and am looking forward to a long run (around 15 miles) with it this weekend. I need to adjust my gait cycle a bit and find the sweet spot for the foot strikes. That sweet spot is different from that of the PXS - still the forefoot but a little more towards the mid-foot and then rolling through more than bouncing forward or upward. I think the PX2S is a shoe that will grow on me. I'm not blown away by it like I was with PXS v1 and I wasn't expecting that based on all the mixed and negative reviews. I can see why some will not like or even hate this shoe. I'd rate it around 90~93 out of 100, so A-minus for my needs and preferences when PXS v1 is A+ at 97~98. Of course, this is FOR ME, not anyone else. I like the PX2S a lot and I expect that it will become my regular long distance cruiser at moderate-to-easy paces while being able to pick up the pace to fairly fast speeds when I feel like doing so during such runs. Perhaps it's a "step backwards" as many have said in their reviews, but I think it's a step in a different direction from v1 - maybe sideways. Perhaps we'll see a whole new direction with v3 next year. But, for now, I'm pretty happy with v2 for what it is after my initial run. As I mentioned, I expect the PX2S to grow on me and that I'll like it even more with more mileage.
Elliott changed the way I play guitar. His description of chord shapes just caused something to click for me when I was 14. Either/Or is perfect. As is self titled. Love your taste in shoes and music!
Got these on the 35% discount. Sent them back already. Trying to pick up the pace in them is like having anvils tied to your feet. If I want a slower run then the Superblast or Mach X do it way better. And they can also pick up the pace. Over engineered clunkers imho. Like the Prime X V1 Strung though, they just needed a bit more stability. They should have named the new one something else.
Unfortunately, in Australia it is difficult to find many discounts on Adidas shoes this last year. I was very lucky to pick up an original Prime X strung at 40% off not so long ago. I hope next year there is a similar discount somewhere as I'd like to give this shoe a try (despite it's weight gain). I think I'll probably wait for the Adios Pro 4 and hope for a discount next year as my next Adidas shoe. I am surprisingly very happy with the Pro 2 and Pro 3 as I didn't expect to like them as much as I do.
Thanks for the insights. Based on your review, I picked up a pair of new Strung V1 on the secondary market. It will arrive in two weeks, and I will have more to say then.
ahh nice review👌! finally got to see your impression on this beast. I never tried the prime x ever but I would say it is a crazy shoe indeed. great review!👏👏👏👏
I picked these up after the great tip off for the colour that was available on discount, so thanks for that!! Only got them through yesterday so just had chance to try them on and they feel spot on just on step in. Im a slower ploddy runner, i loved the original with the original upper, but rolled my ankle a couple of times. Everything you said has made me very relieved I purchased!!! Im not fussed about the weight so hopefully lots of big comfortable miles to come 👍👍 Cheers Ed 🥳
Was waiting for the review. Little disappointed the shoe is different than before. Looks like ill be stocking up on the original Prime X and Prime X Strung.
just got my pair today. definitely needs to be properly locked down to get stability from this shoe. It does appear to have a very nice fit for me all the way around. They were not kidding about the spring sensation from the front, and if they got the weight under control it would be epic. looking forward to my first run
Was expecting an anti gravity bounce fun fest with this. The shoe with no rules that gets even lazy lumps like me salivating to want to exercise. Sounds like an expensive mistake. Happy for them to experiment and keep pushing boundaries even if this is a miss. Still love my adios pro 3s
Great review Ed, i was hovering over the "add to basket" button, ended up buying another pair of Prime X Strung originals and a pair of Adios 8's 😁. Hopefully the 3 Stripes will tweek the weight down on the version 4. Love the pop and turn of speed the PXS and PX1 give you. Still by far the most fun and versatile shoe ever! A step backwards which is a real shame.
I got the other colour which was the only one available in my size UK 13.5 but no discounts allowed on that one. Was keen to see what the "fuss" was about with Strung but, as you alluded to, the initial fit for my long narrow feet is disappointing - felt like my right big toe is being crushed and the laces weren't doing a lot and feel the Strung will be bunching a lot. It is my 3rd heaviest shoe of all time for me at 402g with only 2 GTX shoes heavier that long since stopped using. That said it is "only" 20g more than the OG Prime X so interesting that the weight change for everybody else is so much more or did the OG Strung version come in a lot lighter than the OG Prime X? Anyway due to these initial on foot issues, I haven't actually been out in mine yet as want to be sure they are a keeper - especially for £250. I also have just finally picked up some Endorphin Elite - same effective price (with a 10% discount) but 130g less weight so more fun and then some and was straight out the door in them! So interesting that this Prime X has gone from your favourite of all time to being average at best. At 402g, I feel the outsole could be anything as am going to feel "planted" :) Anybody got any compelling reason to think these are a keeper especially as you can't do a "free trial" in adidas shoes unlike say Nike.
Mine arrived the other day. Went the same size as the OG prime X (not the strung one) and It's really tight on the midfoot area (I have a high midfoot and a slightly wider feet). I just hope it loosen up a bit after using it for quite some time.
@@EDDBUDthanks for the Ed's up (pun intended 😂) Will continue to use it. Though I'm on the fence of getting another pair or just shifting to superblast.
I'm going to have to go for more Superblast (I can get 2 pairs with my discount) vs this shoe. Still have V1 strung in the rotation and love every time I take them out. Just can't with the price.
@@EDDBUD I still have a Prime X and Prime X strung V1 in my rotation to go through. I believe they are almost indestructible and I may not wear mine out until V3 comes out! Great shoe and excited to see where this model goes in the future.
Loved the original and just managed to pick up another pair on discount. Over here in Italy, V2 retails at €300!!! Absolute madness… I’ll be shifting my focus to other options I’m afraid.
Thanks for the review. The feeling with that sole was nice but not as magical ss v1 as expected. But i have return mine because i got huge pain inside where the last two lace holes in plastic are. The plastic inside press very strong on my ankle.
Where the heck did you get a discount code for a shoe that is literally just out! Love the sound of it but not willing to pay that amount, have only got about 50 miles in my V.1 and they are just starting to be broken in and I'm starting to really like them!
"A middle aged man going to see the War on Drugs in 2023" 😂 Sounds like I have more in common with this shoe than I initially believed 😂😂😂😂 I like this colour a lot.
Great review Ed! Does the PXS v2 have heel rub issues? No problem with the lilac pink PXS v1 that I have, but my most recent pair of solar red PXS v1 is causing pretty bad heel rub, especially in my right foot.
I got the Prime X Strung 2 this week on 20% discount in Australia. It was a struggle to put on like the Nike Alphafly 2 but once the feet are inside step in comfort is excellent, true to size, excellent upper. An area of concern is where the tongue meets the heel collar are pointy sharp points at the thin black strip at the top. Like some reviews said all the weight are at the bottom in the midsole so it's definitely felt during the run, it felt heavier than the Hoka Bondi which weights more than the Prime X 2. It's just too heavy to be a marathon race shoe for me, but I was satisfied with the price I paid for it to be used as a supertrainer for the long run sessions.
@@deannorman1349 From Adidas Australia website, I paid RRP but using a card that has a logo of a Roman Centurion looking to the east to get the discount via the 20% bonus deal.
Great review, you really gave the insight instead of getting stuck on weight gain. One question I went whole size down in version 1 due to voluminous upper do you suggest TTS or size down ?
I went down .5 down in the first two prime's and the length was still too long, but width was perfect. With this new version I went .5down again and the length is now perfect, but the shoe is VERY tight. I am worried about getting blisters with these shoes, I really hope they loosen up. My suggestion would be go down .5, since you went down a whole size previously
Great video! How would you say this compares with the Superblast? I really enjoyed the Superblast and wanted another cushioned shoe, but the price tag (CAD400) is a bit too painful to swollow, especially after I just paid almost 300 for that Asics. For some reason, all Adizero shoes in Canada are exempt from any discounts or coupons.
I found the Prime X string so unstable for me so these may be a better option now for me although i don’t think they would fill and gap I have between the Pro 3’s and Boston 12’s??? Crazy price too!!!!!
Ran in loads of paces with this shoe and it isnt as good as the previous one. Its way heavier, not as comfortable and the upper fit is off. Perhaps watch the 100 mile review
Hi! I have some Questions! Does the 2 carbon fiber plate doesn't wear off quicker than a single carbon plate? Is it useful for basketball? Like running around the basketball court? and hitting the jump shots using that bouncy cushion of the prime x 2? and does it make you run faster than others? Which one is better the alphafly 3 vs Adizero prime x 2 vs vaporfly 3?? *For race day* Is it also great when your wearing it for Playing Tag?
Wanted to buy this using it as a trainer for my sprint drills/speed work on hard surfaces like tarmac when i'm not at the track but.. i guess they're to heavy for speed work.
Did my first run in the Adidas Adizero Prime X 2.0 Strung Shoes today. I thought they were great, did a PB over a 1/2 marathon distance 1:31:58, knocking 4 minutes off my previous best. I did have an issues with the lock down as I got further into the run ending up with some heel slip causing some wear on the back of my left heel. I have never had this in any shoe before, I usually to the runners knot but I don’t think you can with these shoes, let me know if I am wrong. My pace seemed to hold strong all the way even after yesterdays Park Run PB of 20:03 (in the Vaporfly 2s). It was very windy 20-30knot headwinds at times both days so I am very happy with my weekend.
I heard that the original Prime X Strung 2 was supposed to be the real deal, making it much better and lighter than the first version of the Strung, but they had to re-vamp the prototype because it had too many similarities to Nike's Alphafly and Nike wasn't having it, so they made them change it, and Adidas made it as heavy as a brick.
Ed, I went half a size down with this shoe because I assumed it would fit like the first prime x, but now the upper feels too tight on my foot! Do you think it will loosen up in time?
Ouch. As a diehard "PXS is the best shoe I've run in" person this stings. I get things change, and as you said it's still probably good, but seems like a step down from what we know they are capable of
You didn't mebtion the lateral bias bevel that is part of the radical change of the shoe's usefullness. Maybe trying to make it a "regukar but "super' shoe for the masses but that won't .
I ran i my pair of the strung 2s Today My legs are dead today so I need more miles and fresher legs to judge it but it felt okay However I need to size up as the front of my left foot started too feel very hot So I think it has a narrower toe box then the strung 1 Hope going up half a size won’t make the rest of the shoe to big Also hopefully I can return my pair I don’t know what adidas are like for returns
my opion on a heavier shoe you should have a heavy shoe in the line up it should work out your legs and you should run in it it will build those leg muscles up using muscles you gavent worked on increasing will lead to very very good outcome when ya throw on those super light race day shoes ..is it a brick probably but who cares get stronger isn't that the point...? good job adidas now make every shoe a strung upper.
@EDDBUD BELIEVE IN RUN SAYS ITS SUPER HEAVY I disagree with there opion on heavier shoes they kinda contradicted themselves heavy means more work on legs which would give you more strength longterm build up so wouldn't running in a heavier shoe occasionally benifit a runner in a training block or even longterm..? so when you put on a race day shoe it's like having no shoe on..?
The Rolex and pancakes in syrup line made me laugh out hard. Thanks Edd. This one's not for me. Not enough asphalt over here and just bought the Superblasts.
So jealous. Prime x 2 strung sold out on launch day here in Aus and I missed it. I also missed out on the prime x 1, it also sold out on me and adidas never restocked it. I might have to import some from the US/UK but after freight etc I will be playing about 300 pounds.
Yeah it's bit of a mixed bag with this shoe, it's still a prime x but it runs differently to previous versions. It's not as fast, but the difference there is marginal but it's a lot more stable, and perhaps a bit less fun? It's also very rigid out of the box, I have a feeling that once the lightstrike breaks in that springboard effect will really kick off I did notice that when you push off with your calves, you get a lovely little spring effect that kind of propels you forward. Yes these are a touch slower, but it's easier to maintain that speed. I'm not actually that bothered, as my mizuno wave rebellion pro are the speed demons, the prime x being my daily driver so in that regard it's nice to have something a bit different. But like you say the grip is brilliant, a touch thicker and better than my pro 3's
Would these be a viable superblast replacement, you think Ed? Next year I'm running Edinburgh marathon so I'll be needing another pair of superblast or equivalent.
Save your money, get a pair of Asics Superblast. Good to see Adidas are tinkering and trying to innovate, but let their sponsored athletes be their testers.
Oh wow your doing the Manchester half marathon? Whats your number will look for you 👍 last years half route was changed like at the last minute so missed the elites 😧 hope for no changes this time around
@@EDDBUD yeah totally different shoe… think it’s going to have to be a runners knot for me on the strung.. felt like there was far to much movement on tonight’s run.
Thanks for the review too expensive ; unless major sale prices; but was hoping at that list price you would hear nothing but glowing positivity. Shame it gained so much weight.
Hey Edd, in New Zealand, your reviews are going to be more important than ever - as we Kiwi's received an email from Nike this morning saying there's no more access for us to buy online! You read that right - I've just made a video as an overview (and it's a bit grumpy) here ua-cam.com/video/C-nUYVp2tpY/v-deo.html Gutted mate. So yes please, keep of the range of reviews you do. Inviting all other brands to come and fill the void. It's pretty sensational.
@@EDDBUD I've got no idea. I kept asking and they kept saying it was for improved customer experience. I've the full transcript of the chat. Bizzarre indeed mate.
@@EDDBUD Up to you boss, but might be worth a mention in your next running news. If there's any further information I can supply to help, just let me know.
38-40 degrees last year and we haven’t even got over 35 this year so there “hottest day ever” is a load of baloney really grinds my gears when they claim stuff like that who they trying to kid hey tut tut
Adidas seems to be chasing Nike and others despite their success. And it results in continued tinkering with shoes and alienating people who liked some shoe vesions with radical changes to new versions. All they had to do here is just keep the original version dynamics with the upper change ti strung and wallah! Primo super trainer. But they messed with it too much.
A hard pass for me. I cannot justify the expense for this one. I'd rather buy another pair of Adios Pro 3 or Endorphin Pro 3 for training or even previous version of Prime X at significant discount. Sounds like Prime X is Adidas' technology testing playground. I also didn't like the switch from real Continental rubber outsole to the flimsier (but sticky) rock climbing rubber which unfortunately does not really last for me and at this price level a training shoe outsole should really last long. I don't think this would allow the purchasers to get their money's worth.
The outsole is fine for road and concrete which is the intended use. But it’s very expensive for a step back. The v1 strung is down to £162 here in the uk!
@EDDBUD where I am, the asphalt laid is not the very smooth type, so it acts as a very course sandpaper and if your gait is a bit scruffy a bit (which happens to me when I get tired), the outsole wears out quickly. The only shoe that resisted just surface well was Novablast v1. The AHAR+ rubber on that shoe had smoothened but still intact after 400 miles when I retired them from running. (Update: PUMA Grip is also surviving pretty well) I will look for a nicely discounted Strung v1 but if I don't find one, I don't think I would have FOMO. 😅
Managed to get it on the discounted price 👍🏻 was as excited as a kid before Christmas to open the box Looks beautiful but! I use size 8, ordered size 8 While the Vaporfly 3 is amazing fit wise, this…took me 10mins to squeeze my foot(right) into the shoe. Length is good! But while I’m typing this I had to remove the shoe as it was way too painful, it was squeezing the blood out. I can not see that this would stretch enough by time 👎🏼 Had an alphafly 2, same issue Sad
Looks like Adidas listned to all the critasisim of the Strung1 and resolved all those supposed issues. Adidas, rule number1 is always: don't read the comment sections, it's full of people who don't like sunshine and ice-cream. As someone who has a tendency to clip my ankles in some shoes, the word "wider" is just.... WHY!!!!...gonna have to get out the box cutter...
@@EDDBUD I like the look of that shoe, FOD Andy liked it. My Pro2's are giving me a weird click/clack sound these days and will be looking for a replacement in this band of the rotation.
Massive disappointment. First I thought the shoe was not too good, now I think it is awful. I have the v1 and except for the stability, the v2 is a lot worse in the most meaningful aspect. The ride is basically bad, very weird brickesque feeling, it is heavy, clunky, super stiff, not responsive. Yes, the upper is better, the lockdown is better, the tongue is better. But the midsole and the ride is inexplicable, you just drag yourself in them fighting with the shoe. Fit is true to size, 45,3 EU | 10,5 UK | 11 US.

If the v1 works for you then no reason not to have another pair.
I’m on the fence. Planning on using V1 at the Philadelphia Marathon
The v1 is more a race able shoe.
Always enjoy the content Ed! Keep up the good work.
Appreciate it!
I think the strung was actually heavier than the original, Tim.
The string v1 was lighter than the og for me. Not by much but enough to make it noticeable. These are ok but really a new model of their own.
Mine arrived the other day. Went the same size as the OG prime X (not the strung one) and It's really tight on the midfoot area (I have a high midfoot and a slightly wider feet).
I just hope it loosen up a bit after using it for quite some time.
It loosened a little but it’s a weird upper for sure
@@EDDBUDthanks for the Ed's up (pun intended 😂)
Will continue to use it. Though I'm on the fence of getting another pair or just shifting to superblast.
I'm going to have to go for more Superblast (I can get 2 pairs with my discount) vs this shoe. Still have V1 strung in the rotation and love every time I take them out. Just can't with the price.
Yeah the Superblast does things this can’t do. But the grip and bounce are way better in the px2.
@@EDDBUD I still have a Prime X and Prime X strung V1 in my rotation to go through. I believe they are almost indestructible and I may not wear mine out until V3 comes out! Great shoe and excited to see where this model goes in the future.
@@jimoconnor8597 Yeah my pairs exhibit almost no wear!
Loved the original and just managed to pick up another pair on discount. Over here in Italy, V2 retails at €300!!! Absolute madness… I’ll be shifting my focus to other options I’m afraid.
Too much for a shoe of this nature.
Wow you got yours at a whopping £97 off I thought my £50 discount was good😂 good review once again Ed
Yeah it was a sizeable chunk. Only advantage of the shoe being expensive is a large discount!
Thanks for the review. The feeling with that sole was nice but not as magical ss v1 as expected. But i have return mine because i got huge pain inside where the last two lace holes in plastic are. The plastic inside press very strong on my ankle.
I can see why people have issue with those last lace holes.
Where the heck did you get a discount code for a shoe that is literally just out! Love the sound of it but not willing to pay that amount, have only got about 50 miles in my V.1 and they are just starting to be broken in and I'm starting to really like them!
"A middle aged man going to see the War on Drugs in 2023" 😂
Sounds like I have more in common with this shoe than I initially believed 😂😂😂😂
I like this colour a lot.
Colour is better in hand than on the website.
Great review Ed! Does the PXS v2 have heel rub issues? No problem with the lilac pink PXS v1 that I have, but my most recent pair of solar red PXS v1 is causing pretty bad heel rub, especially in my right foot.
None on my pair, it was super comfy.
I'm too poor 😢, hoping to get the first iteration at a discount but the sizes are limited. Great video bud btw
V1 is better value
Thanks Edd.
No worries!
Where did you get it from?
@@deannorman1349 From Adidas Australia website, I paid RRP but using a card that has a logo of a Roman Centurion looking to the east to get the discount via the 20% bonus deal.
Are these wider than the takumi sen 8's as they are extremely narrow for my feet and ive bought these hoping they fit more like the pro 3's 🤞
Yes a little wider. Big old toebox height
Seems like I'm going to miss the first one. I love the PrimeX Strung as it was personally.
Yes the v1 was just fine. Well superb. Though my highest mileage week for ages is down to the px2.
Yeah maybe a half down for some people but length will be an issue.
@@kev60625 thanks
Great video! How would you say this compares with the Superblast? I really enjoyed the Superblast and wanted another cushioned shoe, but the price tag (CAD400) is a bit too painful to swollow, especially after I just paid almost 300 for that Asics. For some reason, all Adizero shoes in Canada are exempt from any discounts or coupons.
The main issue is weight in that comparison. 70g lighter though the outsole isn’t as good on the SB
I found the Prime X string so unstable for me so these may be a better option now for me although i don’t think they would fill and gap I have between the Pro 3’s and Boston 12’s??? Crazy price too!!!!!
Yeah it’s not really like either of those shoes in fairness
Have you seen the leaked prototype of the adios pro 4? Looks like a whole slab of that secret foam in the x2 🤔
The one I saw just looked like the 3 with a new upper.
Maybe it's the 5 then 😅
Which saucony is that behind you?
Thick it was the Kinvara pro
Great review but that pace doesn't do that shoe any justice 🤷🏻♂️
Ran in loads of paces with this shoe and it isnt as good as the previous one. Its way heavier, not as comfortable and the upper fit is off. Perhaps watch the 100 mile review
How about n adizero pro evo 1?
Not interested in buying that overpriced shoe
*For race day*
Is it also great when your wearing it for Playing Tag?
I wouldn’t advise it for basketball! Too high and unstable.
@EDDBUD where did you buy from? Also do you remeber the discount code? Thanks
Direct from adidas. It was a personal code
so why shouldnt you use this for a gravel road ? the holes in the outer sole or whats the reasoning behind it ? :)
The plate splits. There’s a big void in the middle which will only take in debris.
Wanted to buy this using it as a trainer for my sprint drills/speed work on hard surfaces like tarmac when i'm not at the track but.. i guess they're to heavy for speed work.
Yes it’s not that shoe anymore
how would you compare to the superblast?
Heavier. But bouncier and better grip.
Glad these are working out for you. Though sounds like some thicker socks may hold off the heel slip
Where did you buy that color from? That's nice Edd
Adidas site in the uk
How does it compare with the New Balance SC Trainer V1?
Way more fun. Though similar upper snags.
Ahahahhaahahah rolex..😅 sticky fruit pastiles ice..😂 coating pancake in siryp🤣 Man you are crazy!🤘
It’s the heat. 🤣👍🏼
They only took out a bit of foam by the looks. I don’t think it was that different.
Where can I buy that color from?
On sale over here in the uk
Danke Schon are you from Germany?
No but I am proudly European. 👍🏼
Ed, I went half a size down with this shoe because I assumed it would fit like the first prime x, but now the upper feels too tight on my foot! Do you think it will loosen up in time?
Perhaps not as much as you need. Certainly a different fit here
Ouch. As a diehard "PXS is the best shoe I've run in" person this stings. I get things change, and as you said it's still probably good, but seems like a step down from what we know they are capable of
It should really have had a different name. It’s that different a shoe
I’m gonna get a pair for sure how did you get that much discount?
Loads of discount. Always the best way

Yes it’s a move to make the shoe more usable to more people
@@EDDBUD I'm not sure if the masses want that shoe. Not part of the psyche to buy such an expensive shoe. Maybe if the price comes down
And it's good to try to make special shoes available to the masses but do the masses really want this shoe at the price?
I ran i my pair of the strung 2s Today
My legs are dead today so I need more miles and fresher legs to judge it but it felt okay
However I need to size up as the front of my left foot started too feel very hot
So I think it has a narrower toe box then the strung 1
Hope going up half a size won’t make the rest of the shoe to big
Also hopefully I can return my pair
I don’t know what adidas are like for returns
If I went a half size up I would need two pairs of socks! Hope you can switch them up
my opion on a heavier shoe you should have a heavy shoe in the line up it should work out your legs and you should run in it it will build those leg muscles up using muscles you gavent worked on increasing will lead to very very good outcome when ya throw on those super light race day shoes ..is it a brick probably but who cares get stronger isn't that the point...? good job adidas now make every shoe a strung upper.
No brick here. It’s not your standard heavier shoe.
Got these on the 1st drop. They are just way too tight. Lots of pressure on the tops of my feet. I kinda have a tall midfoot.
It’s a odd fit. Relying on the upper alone to hold the foot
Should anyone pay $300 for this shoe when they can get the Superblast for $200 or less? Comparison video?
They are very different shoes in fairness. Comparisons coming soon
The Rolex and pancakes in syrup line made me laugh out hard. Thanks Edd. This one's not for me. Not enough asphalt over here and just bought the Superblasts.
It’s a good shoe. But it’s a new model really than a v2
So jealous. Prime x 2 strung sold out on launch day here in Aus and I missed it. I also missed out on the prime x 1, it also sold out on me and adidas never restocked it. I might have to import some from the US/UK but after freight etc I will be playing about 300 pounds.
Loads left over here. Mainly due to everyone being skint!
@@EDDBUD yeah, I am also size 14 and I swear it’s the first to sell out every time :( I doubt they get many 14s in.
I find these so painful to run in. Had to take a week off running after my first 2 runs in them (only about 10km and 6km).
Surprised at this. They do take some time to flex in fairness
My pair arrives Friday! Can't wait!
Enjoy!
Disappointed by this update, what have you done adidas! Time to get my most beloved v1 again that is still going strong at nearly 600km!
Yeah it’s not a v2. More a new shoe
Edd what discount did you have, come on bro share the love 😂
Adiclub code
Yeah it's bit of a mixed bag with this shoe, it's still a prime x but it runs differently to previous versions.
It's not as fast, but the difference there is marginal but it's a lot more stable, and perhaps a bit less fun?
It's also very rigid out of the box, I have a feeling that once the lightstrike breaks in that springboard effect will really kick off
I did notice that when you push off with your calves, you get a lovely little spring effect that kind of propels you forward.
There’s promise here. Just a very different shoe to the v1.
Would these be a viable superblast replacement, you think Ed?
Next year I'm running Edinburgh marathon so I'll be needing another pair of superblast or equivalent.
Quite the different shoes. The Superblast may not be as assistive. But they are 70g lighter per shoe for me!
Npwsune i can get orig Strung on a discount. Been full price forever @USD $299
Loads of here in the uk. They are shifting them all at about 163 quid.
Dankeschön!

Save your money, get a pair of Asics Superblast. Good to see Adidas are tinkering and trying to innovate, but let their sponsored athletes be their testers.
Very different shoe in fairness. Like both for different reasons.
Oh wow your doing the Manchester half marathon? Whats your number will look for you 👍 last years half route was changed like at the last minute so missed the elites 😧 hope for no changes this time around
Don’t have the number yet. Heading up Friday eve. 👍🏼
To me, having run in both, this was the single biggest letdown from a debut release (X Strung v1) to its successor. Extremely disappointing. 😞
It’s a very different shoe. Almost needs a new name
I was hoping the outsole would be like a cat’s tongue, disappointing. 🐈
It’s very cat tongue like! Perhaps more than ever!

Yes it’s a weird step back really considering the lower weight of the v1 strung
Hey Edd, in New Zealand, your reviews are going to be more important than ever - as we Kiwi's received an email from Nike this morning saying there's no more access for us to buy online! You read that right - I've just made a video as an overview (and it's a bit grumpy) here ua-cam.com/video/C-nUYVp2tpY/v-deo.html Gutted mate. So yes please, keep of the range of reviews you do. Inviting all other brands to come and fill the void. It's pretty sensational.
Bizarre. Why are they stopping the service?!

Stupid Adidas Canada still has version 1 at full price. Version 2 is the same price the first was.. I guess $400 is a tough ceiling to pass.
I heard the us and Canada don’t have the price drop yet. They can’t give them away here.
Hehe I knew it you will not say nay to this one 😅😅😅
Too tempting a shoe. I’m happy I have it in the rotation though. A more snappy invincible run.
(Update: PUMA Grip is also surviving pretty well)
I will look for a nicely discounted Strung v1 but if I don't find one, I don't think I would have FOMO. 😅
Managed to get it on the discounted price 👍🏻 was as excited as a kid before Christmas to open the box
Looks beautiful but!
I use size 8, ordered size 8
While the Vaporfly 3 is amazing fit wise, this…took me 10mins to squeeze my foot(right) into the shoe.
Length is good! But while I’m typing this I had to remove the shoe as it was way too painful, it was squeezing the blood out.
I can not see that this would stretch enough by time 👎🏼
Had an alphafly 2, same issue
Sad
Strange. I don’t find it that right at all true to size. But going down would be too short
Looks like Adidas listned to all the critasisim of the Strung1 and resolved all those supposed issues.
Adidas, rule number1 is always: don't read the comment sections, it's full of people who don't like sunshine and ice-cream.

Haven’t found that at all myself.
