I am proud to say that I was at this concert in 2004 and I did this sound recording. The DVD of this concert (it was an 8 camera ‘shoot’ with Aram Gharabekian supervising the editing, which is immaculate) is the most treasured memento from my 45 year recording career. Aram flew me to Armenia in 1998, 2004 and 2006 to record his beloved orchestra, the NCOA. We had a deep personal friendship and I still lament his untimely passing. I remember him very fondly as do many others who had known him. He was truly unique.
It’s unfortunate to read about his passing, from what I can tell, he was really passionate about music. I’ve only recently discovered Gharabekian, but i’m completely obsessed. Do you have any recommendations on other pieces he’s conducted? 🙏
i used to fly MiGs fo the indian air force and became fascinated when i learnt that the M in MiG stood for Artem Mikoyan, who was Armenian. i love the music of Khachaturian and Mirzoyan and Aram Gharabekian. thanks for uploading!

In 1973 HayFilm produced the film "Qaos (aka Chaos, in Armenian: Քաոս)", which is based on the novel of the same title written by the Armenian playwright and novelist, Alexander Shirvanzade. The film composer was Edward Mirzoyan. The musical piece "Shushanik" is the main musical theme of the film. Since the heroine's name is Shushanik, I think perhaps that is why the piece may be called as such.

Not being Armenian, but 'simpatico' to Armenian causes and music, I came upon this site unintentionally looking for another Armenian composer. 'twas not an accident. Simply magnificent! I researched "Shushanik" and found it to be the name of a Georgian Saint martyred in the 5th century. If that was the inspiration for this music, how appropriate.

Eureka! I located the film on, of all places, UA-cam! It's in seven parts, in Armenian without sub-titles. I don't think the movie is commercially available in the United States. Again, thank you for the clarification.
Oh you are welcome! As you have already found it, yes, the film is on UA-cam, but unfortunately like you said without sub-titles :( If I ever come across it with subtitles I'll post it here. As a side note, I found the thought interesting that inspiration of the piece may have been "Shushanik", the saint martyred in 5th century, since the character Shushanik from movie and the book is portrayed as this epitome of goodness. So, there seemed to be a nice correlation between the two of them :))
