I have come here to pay my respects to John Broome. I was saddened to learn today that John Broome has passed away. John was an integral member of the English Theme Park industry. Without Broome Alton Towers Britain’s largest and most popular Theme Park wouldn’t exist. In the 1980’s John transformed a stately home into a premier Theme Park. If you ask an English person to name 5 Theme Parks Alton Towers will likely be the first named. More than 30 years on Alton Towers continues to be a premier tourist destination and big employer. Less than a fortnight ago my local Camel Creek,my local,Theme Park owned by John Broome entered administration. Reflecting on this development I wonder if Broome’s age/or health contributed to the administration of my local Theme Park. John Broome was a larger than life character who will be sorely missed but strongly remembered.
    RIP John Broome 1949-2023

@@EuroThemeParkArchive speaking of Camel Creek do you think it’s got a good chance of being saved? I hope someone buys my local Theme Park and invests love into it. Camel Creek is a great place. I am thinking could Crealy re buy the Theme Park. I remember reading Crealy didn’t intend to sell the attraction. Apparently John Broome gave the owners of Crealy a good offer for Cornwall’s Crealy (Camel Creek). Who or which company would you personally like to purchase Camel Creek. Personally I hope the new owners invest in some thrill rides,Camel Creek could easily become the Alton Towers of the South West.

It's interesting that he cites a previous Battersea project as a failed leisure pursuit, especially since that's something he tried himself and also didn't get too far with later on down the line

COASTERGUY246 Very true! He was talking about Battersea funfair that had recently closed down, little did he know then that Battersea would soon play a fateful part in his career!
