I’m 68, been shooting all my life, well since 10 years old or so, mostly shotguns and 22’s, about 8 years ago my youngest son got interested in pistols, he bought a Ruger SR9C, I bought a hi point C9, 140 bucks, since moved on to Glocks and 1911’s for competition shooting but don’t regret the C9 at all, my oldest son bought one too, first pistol, we still get them out for some fun range time, I’ll always be a fan, they have their place, got a 45 also, got it for 80 bucks, safety a little sloppy, sent to hi point came back like new with extra mag
That's awesome that they took care of you! Yeah, I do agree that a Hi Point firearm does have its place and for those that wont or can't spend a lot of money, they are better than nothing.
Hi-Point is gaining popularity and because it is is reliable weapon, it will probably increase in price. Just bought the exact same gun @ Classic Firearms for $179.99 How can I pass that up? The lowest I've ever seen a 10 mm go for is $550. It's a no Brainer to me. It's not gonna be an everyday carry. Give Hi point some respect... thats an incredible value for a 10 mm. First Hi point ever. If she performs good dare I say I'll be a Hi point fan?😅 we'll see.
I ran 250 rds a few days ago at the Range with my son.... Blazer Brass....S&B....and SIG V Crown Hollow points...I had 0 issues and really good accuracy with groups on a Bin Laden target at 50 feet center head shots taking out his right eye...then center mass then Shoulders...I am really glad I bought this gun..it is fun and a keeper with my Others!😃
I seem to always get good accuracy with fixed barrel/blowback action firearms. Glad it ran well for ya! I’m gonna take it back out when it warms up a bit.
I'd be curious to see a redo in reverse order of ammunition in warmer weather to see if the groups getting larger were, in fact, ammo related or hand fatigue.
IV8888 did a range test on the 9mm and it took some seriously overcharged rounds to stop his Hi Point from running. I would never say to run a dangerously overcharged round through your gun but the pistols seem to be fairly robust.
Thanks for your nice info-clip and, as I have seen in other videos, your Hi Point is not the only one hitting the shell a bit off center. My Hi Point 10 mm is at my FFL dealer and I am looking forward to getting it soon in order to compare it to my 4th generation G 40. Take care and keep shooting safely.

It'll get better as it breaks in. The first thing I do with a new highpoint is work the slide a few hundred time. It's more fun to shoot it, lol. But if your not somewhere you can fire it, work the slide some and it'll make it alot smoother and contribute to the reliability.
