Lots of love,
Alex
I like my strawberries medium rare, can't eat them raw like that
Hahaha
when my Parisian friend ordered this in a restaurant in Paris, I just will not try it when he offer a small amount to taste. I think my stomach cannot handle it.
Lmao
You like meat ? You hate meat ? funny thing is that you are gonna love this stuff anyway :) cheers
***** Superbe !
+French Guy Cooking (Alex) Both are delicious! My favourite way to eat is in pita bread with grilled onions it's same way my dad eats it.
aren't you not supposed to use catsup in France food
you can also use tomato puree and sugar, which is basically ketchup
looks delicious 😋
My boyfriend ( exchange student to America
) is italian and French, he is heavily influenced with both cultures and their food, I'm trying to make him all of his favorites and this one seemed most like what he described, thank you! I think he will love it.
As If Aye Mate nope, your cooking for me
Don't worry, I'll cook for you both! :D
-it'll cost 69.666$-
Alicia Marie, Did he like it?
Strawberries and Peppers! that combination is what got me thrown off of Chopped! I knew I was onto something though. Glad to see some support that I can trust ahah
What ??! You definitely were onto something bro' ! Strawberries and bell peppers blend so well. Here in France, a previous winner of Masterchef made a dish about it and it was a tidal wave : www.tf1.fr/masterchef/recettes-masterchef/tartelette-au-poivron-et-a-la-fraise-7615297.html
***** thats amazing, I was told by marcus samuelsson that the raw peppers tasted too "irony"
I agree on some levels, but I enjoy the raw combo
Pro Home Cooks that’s...ironic
@@Jacob-ry3lu It's also kind of....moronic
"...or with french fries, if youre really in a french mood." wait what? HAHAHAHA I love this guy!
French fries are actually Belgian, this is cultural appropriation ! xD
@@lesslighter wallonia is a french talking part of belgium ahah
You are right worcester sauce is essential! In Slovakia we add minced garlic, then it is great with toasts. Bless you and cook on.
+Jozef Koczman Thanks I will :)
Better with deep fried bread aka "topinka"...:)
I make this as a nibbly for a cocktail party. I surround it with anchovy fillets, red onion, capers etc and guests make their own little bite on a slice of baguette. My secret is to anoint the whole mound with about one ounce of the best cognac in my home. Try it. Its sensational!
I'm in France right now and had Steak Tartare last night. Couldn't believe how good it was. Very surprised.
Jimbob i know I love steak tartare
Jimbob his version in the video is the best ive ever had. i feel like he made it for americans because with the pickle, onion, mustard, and ketchup it really ends up tasting like an american burger. a fresh, clean version of a burger.
amazing..... i love tartar ...And this is a proper tartar :-)
+Akis Kitchen Love my tartar too !
ο Άκης βλέπει French guy cookinggggg
With Ketchup?
so much wrong here... starting with cutting the meat along the grain... this guy is clueless
French food can be very intimidating oh, but the older I get the more interested I am in food like this. This looks absolutely amazing. I'm going to try cooking this with my dad when I take home time at the end of the month. Thank you for this recipe.
I like both versions!!
Thx Feli !!!
I did not like this guy on the beginning, but now he is becoming one of my favorite member of Food Tube Family. Keep up-
For the people who really wouldn't love raw meat anyway. You could chop the meat as done, mix it whith salt, lemon juice an a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and let it overnight in the fridge. This way the meat will cook without being heated. And it will keep some fresch taste in comparison to cooked or fried meat. And then you can mix up the rest of the ingretients as shown. But anyway, great recipes man!!! they are really inspiring. I enjoy it ;-)
Thanks for the idea. Best
Great idea with the tin foil. I love love love Tartare ***** looks delicious :)
wow! Korea has a similar dish called yuk hwae. Raw beef mainly mixed with soysauce, sugar, sesame oil, sesame seed and raw egg yolk with a side of sliced asian pear and thinly sliced garlic. Its cool that both countries' recipe uses egg yolk!
Gordon Ramsay - ITS RAAAAWWWWW!!!!!
Madam ! This is not good enough ! This is FFF RAW !!!
***** haha, lol your replied, btw I'm a guy lol
Electric Cherry yea, same here
Electric Cherry lol relax yourself it's a harmless comment
All that I worry about is that itty bitty little tiny minuscule less incomprehensible problem (for me and some people at least) I am afraid on eating meat raw as it may contain parasites and harmful elements that can be destroyed by cooking.
By the way I love your show!!! It fills me with passion! Danke shoen
Excellent video!! I'm afraid to eat veggies, so your 2nd video part was funny.
My favourite food. Worcestershire is where my nan lives, ignore the spelling, it's 3 syllables, pronounced wuss-ter-sher sauce. Bon appetite 🏴
BLESS YOU FOR MAKING A VEGETARIAN VERSION
Toronto Carbivore except it's not a tartare. tartare is a raw meat/fish. it cannot be a veggie.
that being said I'd rather have the veggie notartare
Kitty..... Tartare is actually made with fish. A popular alternative is steak tartare, so if it can't be vegetarian then there can't be steak. Either way I would rather have carpaccio.
+Robert M Nope, the dish is named Tartare after the Tartar people, who prepared a similar dish with horse meat. Then came the raw beef version, and even later the fish ones.
so you can have a vegetarian tartare then
Is it vegetarian when it has an egg in it?
This is the best twisted version ever. I just love the idea of a vegetarian tartare for a quick appetizer! :)
Gotta think to each and every one :) Thanks for stopping by !
I cannot describe the amount of the appreciation for the veggie one. No joke 🌸
OK, red bell peppers, tomatoes and strawberries ... I eat meat but I'm gonna try that. It sounds delicious.
Brilliant twist. I’m trying that this weekend.
Great recipe! I added a clove of garlic and a little bit of Chili to my own taste. Tastes awesome!
Commodore Man Every right to do so. Cooking is about customization
the french eat raw meat too? korean raw beef(yukhoe) is one of my favorite dishes
It's a classic here :)
yuckhoe lol
Italians also love tartare it’s pretty pan European now
Yes and in Italia they have carpaccio, and in Ethiopia kitfo. Anyone knows any other countrie's raw meat dishes?
yes in Germany we have Hackepeter (or Mett or Hackfleisch or Thüringer Mett ^^,) which is is raw meat that is nicely seasoned and served with raw onions.
Thanks Alex! Just got back from 1 month in France where I ate 10 taretare.. now I’m back in the US and craving it. Will follow this recipe !
Great... your recipe is quite similar to the version I am doing, but yours seems to be the better one... the difference is the version au couteau and the oil before the other ingredients... and I can imagine that this will lift it to another level... I will try it for sure. Thanks man! Thumbs up!
Cremantus The oil trick is brilliant and it really does keep the meat's bright red color
Un tartare végétarien... Je n'y avait pas pensé!! Merci!
THAT SPIT TAKE WAS THE FUNNIEST CLIP EVER ON FRENCH GUY COOKING
I'm traveling to Paris next week for the first time. I've never eaten raw beef, but I think this video has convinced me to sample some steak tartare while I am there! And, who knows? Maybe I'll make some of my own! 😊
Veg Tartare is salad, mate.
Beef tartar is technically salad, too, mate.
@@claytonis1 lol true .... mate
Omg, it is eh!
Don't like raw meat? Just throw it in a pan for a couple of minutes and you got yourself one hell of a burger.
Ze Rubenator LOL would love to try that
Yes into the pan...
Steak tartare, lovely, really fresh smell, into the pan. Season, a tablespoon of lemon juice, to maintain that freshnes, lovely
Yep, it's seared tartare, but it has to be cooked very quickly in order to build up a nice crust on the outside, and keep it raw on the inside. if you want to make a burger, avoid mixing all these ingredients in it because it will break up in the pan and render its moisture, giving a dry, mushy result (and it's a shame to ruin such a good piece of meat).
I think you'd have to add some kind of bonding agent like breadcrumbs to make it not fall apart in the pan.
I've been looking for a great Steak Tartare recipe for ages! This looks beautiful!!!
my wife would love these she's a vegetarian. I have made before salmon and tuna tartares and they are amazing I have never tried the beef tartares.
The best steak tartare I have ever tasted !!
I learn more French from watching you than from school
Merci!
Ilan Bienvenue !
Le couteau est Francais aussi!!! Love it...
"Tai one" PUNS, PUNS EVERYWHERE! HAHA.
Will definitely try this recipe, never had raw meat before and boy, this seems to be the perfect way to taste some!
PUNS POWAH !
I'm not a big fan of beef tartare, but it's a classic, and yours, looks very nice :)
Lol, remember one time that my roommate tried to cook the tartare with a recipe learned from Internet....he made one successfully and was quite satisfied, then he kept it in the fridge....and the other day I found it and pan seared it as a burger patty....
Im learning french in school and i dont learn a lot of the culture, but by watching you it drives home the french nature. please mix more french into your videos with those subtitles. luv your videos!!!! je viens de Californie en Amérique
Thank you for your answer. Merci from Czech republic :-)
Eliška Kudelova děkuji
One video and I'm hooked! Your channel is great, I love that the food is so easy to make! I also really like all the background music, jokes, tips and such in the video. Great job!
Katie F Welcome on board !
I prefer to serve it mixed besides the yolk. Every customer or guest is wowed by getting to pop the yolk themselves. So luxurious! But great recipe and good idea with the foil!
I don't even really want to learn how to cook this. I come to watch you mostly because you're so charismatic, charming, and cute. I love that your recipes include easy and simplified techniques that any novice can learn. I'd love to see you tackle what us black Americans here call "soul food". Tha'd be rad!
First time I have ever considered trying raw meat. Actually looks really nice. Hope to try it some day.
Love this channel, and of course, love the tartare. I'm learning some french recipes thanks to you! It looks so tasty :)
Silvia Garzo Yeah ! I am happy you're discovering some french stuff ! good to have you here
We have a similar dish in Korea! but we add sesame seed oil, some sliced or chopped pear, garlic and an egg yolk on top :) This looks really good too!!❤️
+Kailani Kim Yukhoe FTW!!! like Yukhoe better than tartare but, taste is taste :;O
Haha it's great u know about yukhoe! :)
Kailani Kim hehe love korean food :)
great!
:)
Sesame seed oil? Damn, that sounds so much better already... I love that stuff.
very nice dish i have been eaten tartar in restaurant
I've always learned that the "real way" of doing boeuf tartare is using the inner thigh of a veal, which you scrape lengthwise by a sharp knife to produce what is not even a mince, but much finer. Personely I prefere it chopped in a mincer or, as you do it as "real" meat. Thanks for your uploads and your winning personality
***** Nicely done! I really enjoyed the delivery of this fantastic recipe. Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure Bentley Hudgins
Very nice, mec! Haven't had tartar in a while this made me want to have some tomorrow pendant la pause. Ciao
Yes!!! thank you Alex!!! I have ALWAYS wanted to prepare a wonderful tartare!! I never considered using cornichons but what a brilliant idea!!!! It just goes to show you, even a semi- talented palate like mine misses many things! I love learning from you!
My pleasure man ! I am so glad if it s inspiring you to cook :) the thing is cornichons , capers and onions add acidity (and so freshness) to the dish.
Use prime ingredients and it will turn great !
Merci beaucoup! :)
Nyssa M Being vegetarian in France is complicated. Best of luck and thanks for stopping by
this guy looks vaguely like the genius who makes his own pizza ovens :)
You are a Star! Love cook and love your way of cooking! Well done... Will definetely try this recipe. Thanks. Adios :)
Hi Fransisco ! Thanks for stopping by :)
Is this the dish that Mr Bean spit out?
I was thinking about that the whole time I was watching this video looool
yes it is
leeyang1990 yes
leeyang1990 yes because it is freaking disgusting. raw meat and raw freaking egg on it. repulsive
kitty mom Nope. It's quite tasty, as long as you're not squeamish about the ingredients.
The tartare looked incredible
You really need to try Kibbeh nayyeh, it's from Lebanon (and the general region). It's raw minced lamb, bulgur and spices. It's so damn delicious. The Lebanese restaurants in my area only serve it one day a week, and if you come too late they'll be sold out. I always get a large portion for lunch and take half home for my dinner.
I might have to try your tartare. I made it once ages ago for my dad and myself, but my recipe was much more basic and I can barely remember what it tasted like.
Salut Alex!
Hoping you'll give it a try and tell me about it!
Have fun!
This dish remembers me hackepeter (wich I love), I will definitely try, I love this dishes with raw meat...
So enthusiastic, casual and informative, instant subscribe! :)
I Love your Channel I feel I'm learning French and how to cook at the same time !! X
Kaush G Hahahaha ! Love that !
Been years since I've had Steak Tartare. I'll have to keep this in mind next time I visit a butcher shop.
thanks to world chef I found this video! good job, Alex
in case you didn't know, as I didn't see it in a quick scan of the comments, worcestershire sauce is no vegetarian, it's made with anchovies. soy sauce or temari for the gluten sensative makes a close enough approximation.
Love the vegetarian twist. Merci for the inspiration!
I don't think I could ever down raw meat... but the vegetarian version looks very appetizing!
Too brave for me. :) The vegetarian version looks like a really, beautiful, appetizer.
ming wong Posh :)
Wagyu beef. Excellent choice.
French fries if you are in a "french" mood. Triggered me just a tiny bit as a Belgian xD. As usual, awesome video, Alex! I absolutely adore Steak Tartare!
Great vegetarian alternative, I will prepare it
I don't eat raw meat, but will absolutely try the veg version...and fall in love with your voice btw ^^
"why did the cow cross the road? BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T FUCKING COOK IT!!!" - Gordon "where's the lamb sauce" Ramsay
Thx u so much for doing a vegetarian dish I'm gonna make this! Btw looks delicious✌️😊
Put the beef in the freezer long enough to firm it up a bit, (but not long enough to freeze it) and it will be much easier to dice. Also, a clean tuna can with both the top and bottom cut out can be used for the mold.
I have an insane tartare craving right now. But my only option is grocery store beef. So it is gonna be a gamble, wish me luck guys.
Italian horse meat tartare my favourite.
Most outstanding!!!
Strawberry goes really well with beef in my opinion fresh strawberries are great with steak
Agree :)
strawberries in a tartare? That sounds interesting :) Like that you made a vegetarian version!
This adds much appreciated tangy flavors :)
only subscribed a day ago and I already love watching yr videos
Lea & Perrins is made in the UK, but it's owned by the American company Kraft Heinz the same people who make that ketchup and what you might find more interesting is based on a Indian recipe.
We have similar dish ,raw meat and raw eggs (have never tasted though:D)so no offend at all!!! Looks yummy!!!
Mon Dieu! You are a genius!
Great idea with the aluminum foil ring... then of course you can make any shape, like maybe a heart for Valentine's Day. Nothing beats presenting your bloody heart on a plate to your Valentine!
super! thanks for tips and make cooking sound so cool!
Sam Rafie I strongly believe cooking should be cool :D
make something sweet!!! chocolate truffle with lots of whiskey and pistachio nuts is my favourite! wanna see you twist it :D
merci for making this channel, c'est magnifique!!
ça à l'air trop bon... je me suis liquéfiée devant cette vidéo.
Ta chaîne est super inspirante. Continue ! !!
omg that beef tartare stack looked like it would be the most amazing burger if you carefuly light fried it!
Really looking forward to trying these, both look amazing, thank you.
Such a great twist... really like your creativity
Great ! I know what to do to replace a large cutter (cercle de cuisine) for a cheese cake that I planned to do.
Steak tartare! Excellent. Never added ketchup before. Vegetarian version..... salad? LOL Blessings ChefMike
I LOVE STEAK TARTARE!!!!!
Hey hi! Just want to say that I enjoy your videos so much!
I learn many things from you. :)
I think maybe you could make a video about tips to sharpen knife.
Superbe!
A vegetarian tartare!... Wonderful idea.
I am happy you like it friend :)
Thank you for doing the vegetarian version!!!
