I agree, I have a few ideas but ofc we can't know for sure. First, maybe the company doesn't have that same 7 year contract but maybe a shady contract that let's them kick out the members. Second, maybe the girls don't have an actual contract, which is what some shitty companies do (similar to raina) and do the girls had no legal bind to the company.
Seeing how Bimby can't promote due to Visa issue seems like the company itself doesn't have proper legalities in their HR department (who probably is also their accounting/marketing/PR department).
@@marbleous That's because foreigners who want to work as an idol in South Korea need a special type of visa (think of is as our "performers visa") to do their promotion activities. I remember i used to love this group during their time together. My bias was always changing since there were so many line up changes, but i was very loyal to Starlight and Maum lol. Their agency definitely failed them, and Catch Me + Oh My God were their only 2 MVs that were actually "high quality" you could say. I'm hoping all the members the best, and if any of them want to debut again or are in a new agency, i wish them luck! I will forever love Baba, since i listened to Oh My God on repeat lol.
I'm looking forward to the LeaderS video. We were all so excited because their debut single was amazing and then there was nothing about them for years... at least not until a scandal where their company treated their debut showcase as if they were performers at a business meeting instead of artists getting the spotlight
Thank you for covering this group! I've been very confused about this group and I'm very surprised you could find this much info as I could find almost nothing!
I didn't expect to hear the name Blue Fox in this video, and now I feel so bad for the girls who came from Baba. Blue Fox's Debut song Wake Me Up is great and it has been really heartbreaking to watch their company give fans hope of a redebut with new members only to go silent again. I keep an eye on their socials but we get so little that it's hard to keep hope. I can't imagine how those girls must feel.
I think you and Ploopy should do a collab video. You both do good investigative features 🙂 This left me with a headache. Not because of you of course; because of them. How many Somi can you have in a group?!
crazy how many talented girls joined this group over its lifetime, after whatever they experienced there I can understand why many of them did not continue their pursuit to be idols
I really wonder what PR Entertainment was trying to achieve with this '3 Somi's' concept. Were they trying to make up for the original Somi who left the group but then when even more members left the group, and they had to recruit more girls, it became too much for them to handle? Like I don't get it. Maybe the stage name Somi held a symbolic meaning to the group and it was bestowed to a certain member for a certain reason. Why else would they give it to two more girls who joined later? It seems to me PR Entertainment was trying to do something special but due to their inability to manage the group, it ended up backfiring really badly due to the constant lineup changes. And instead of the company getting its sh*t together and focusing on building BaBa up, they just let members come in and go from the group like commuters in grand central station. They seemed to have no clear goals or mission in mind for the group. So when they saw the group was going nowhere, they eventually gave up and let Baba crash and burn. 🤔
Ok I know this is weird but my favorite member of Blue Fox, Aria, was also apart of ACE so like... this is an entire rabbit hole. BTW i know they're probably disbanded but check out "Wake Me Up" by Blue Fox like OMG it's so good, it's like Wild by 9muses. Also where is Secret Number but that's another story for another time
5 Songs in 5 years? Wow this is even less than Brave Girls currently have. They debuted 10 years ago but have the same amount of songs like Weeekly. Oh my gosh, what are these companies always doing with girlgroups?
since each cb seems to be a different concept, I get the feeling that the company kept changing the lineup with girls that fit that concept they were going for...that's at least what I feel
I had no idea that Blue Fox had anything to do with Baba!! I love Blue Fox, especially their song Wake Me Up! I discovered that song since Ploopy's 'least viewed' video and I listen to it all the time!
I think that gave me whiplash. What a revolving door of talent and beauty. I can't help but be suspicious of their company's management skills and feel bad for the girls, who were probably promised fame and fortune.
omg I remember them! they were of the first groups that I saw news about them going on the unit (no one was talking about it tbh, I guess bc they weren't as known. I just camped on Naver news to see which other groups/companies would audition, that's how I heard of them for the 1st time tbh), I guess they didn't pass the auditions tho...
You should do a video about 24k the OG EDM kpop group.... a boyband with so much potential ruined by constant lineup changing.... there's a pattern here 😅 I belive in those cases, companies should re-debut the groups with other name and concept
still wondering why some trainees still decide to join companies like these when there are groups very similar to this one. imagine working so hard to become an idol and this is what you get.
Blue fox Wake me up is still in my playlists to this day Omg i couldn't believe when I heard the name Eyaki Wake me up is so nice to hear and i love daya's voice
OMG! I KNOW WHO U SHOULD MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT! FLASHE!!! They are the least know group to survive 7 years! Everything about their career, I've written on KpopWiki!!!
That member change look like when you are playing arknights on annihilation stage, 3 somi is gravel, projekt red and phantom, where pureum is the silver ash 😅
I thought the name sounded familiar haha I remember going to the show and being impressed by their energy and vocals while performing Oh My God, but never tried to learn about them or their other music. Why were there three Somi's.. I cant understand that move
Yeah I knew about Baba, but only listened to their song Catch Me.. I then found out that they had a lot of member changes and quickly lost interest. Which is quite sad for the girls. I'm sure that a lot of people feel the same as I do.
For the "somi" case it reminds me of an anime akb0048 that used previous member's name and put their number like after original Acchan left the group, the next member who has similar charisma and aura with Acchan will be debut as 2nd Acchan or Ni-daime Acchan
I only watched the intro so far but until this point it seems almost like they were trying to go for that concept Super Junior was originally supposed to have with rotating members and a "graduating" system until the fans were like "uh no lol" and SM gave it up.
I remember the first time I saw/hear of NCT (I'm still only on my second year of KPop stanning, I'm an IKONIC ID) it was a 90s rap medley and the amount of members screwed me all up . . . So THIS.. THIS.. my Lord.
Continuation to my previous comment. I’m speculating entirely here. It’s possible that the girls knew that they were going to debut in a group and have to leave months later to make way for new members, why would they agree to that, or their family, agent? Money. But like I said, the smiles on their faces in the fancams. They don’t look fake to me. They look like the smiles of girls that were excited to be idols, ecstatic to be added to an established group.

Can’t really tell why they would do it a second time though since at that point they’d had a nearly full lineup change 😭
as someone who watched ploopy's rania video, as soon as i heard the words "visa issues" i was like ohhhhhh boy, here we go again
The funny thing is baba means 'dad' in Turkish now I can't unsee it lol
Ba in Vietnamese is also đad. Lol
@@tylerpham22 lmao
That's interesting cuz baba in Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and some other languages means "grandma" but it's a casual way of saying it and it can sound rude if you're saying it to a random old woman since then it's like calling someone an old hag lol
@@missangel3131 yeah right! I actually heard it in many animes before thanks for informing me!
I only trust Jihoons Carat and Ploopy to make extremely indepth and interesting videos on "unknown" groups
Same and Midnight theories
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore omg yes i love midnight theories! Her voice is so cute and she was the first youtuber i started watching in this genre i can't believe i forgot her😭😭
omg i used to be so obsessed with their song "Catch Me" when i was a teenager!! (im 25 now lol) i had completely forgotten about that song until now 😭 Catch Me was my JAM in highschool aaahhh memories!! :')
I was not ready for Seungha's first new career choice oh wow🤣
Im only 4 Minutes in and im already very confused. I really wonder what happened behind the Scenes
I will forever love Baba, since i listened to Oh My God on repeat lol.
woowa
as the members came and went, I think a timeline or some sort of family tree would be helpful for a visual idea. just suggesting 🤗
That’s a good suggestion! I’ll definitely implement that into future videos
I'm looking forward to the LeaderS video. We were all so excited because their debut single was amazing and then there was nothing about them for years... at least not until a scandal where their company treated their debut showcase as if they were performers at a business meeting instead of artists getting the spotlight
Thank you for explaining the line-ups! It was really confusing 💙
12:10 she is currently a member of Ferry Blue
Thank you for covering this group! I've been very confused about this group and I'm very surprised you could find this much info as I could find almost nothing!
11:30 hi, Song Eyaki is actually her stage name in Blue Fox (where she still is). Her real name is Kim Youjin
Oh thank you !!
You both do good investigative features 🙂
This left me with a headache. Not because of you of course; because of them. How many Somi can you have in a group?!
That would be a dream! I love Ploopys content a lot
crazy how many talented girls joined this group over its lifetime, after whatever they experienced there I can understand why many of them did not continue their pursuit to be idols
I just wanted to let you know the Yujin was going to debut with Blaze but for unknown reasons she left and now the group is a duo.
I feel like some of these nugu groups with constant member changes/shady company issues sound like trafficking schemes tbh.
Halfway through the video, i started zoning out because of how confusing every member was
Oh my, you lost me after the third Somi, hahaha xD
Great video as always! Keep up the great work 👏🏻
thank you so much for covering this group! i don’t think i could’ve ever made sense of all this without you explaining it haha
since each cb seems to be a different concept, I get the feeling that the company kept changing the lineup with girls that fit that concept they were going for...that's at least what I feel
Yesss earlyyyy, haven't heard of this one!
omg I remember them! they were of the first groups that I saw news about them going on the unit (no one was talking about it tbh, I guess bc they weren't as known. I just camped on Naver news to see which other groups/companies would audition, that's how I heard of them for the 1st time tbh), I guess they didn't pass the auditions tho...
you deserve way more subscribers this video was really informative thank you
Awh thank you so much I really appreciate it
I loved baba besides their debut I loved everything they came out with catch me is still at the top of my.playlist.
You have a truly beautiful soul to keep track of Nugu groups. Love it.
Update: Roha will have her solo debut in October 2022 (until 2022 she was promoting as Yoollin, but now returned to stage name Roha)
You should do a video about 24k the OG EDM kpop group.... a boyband with so much potential ruined by constant lineup changing.... there's a pattern here 😅 I belive in those cases, companies should re-debut the groups with other name and concept
still wondering why some trainees still decide to join companies like these when there are groups very similar to this one.
imagine working so hard to become an idol and this is what you get.
they needed a sister group called YAGA
that's a good one
would love to see u cover the gg daydream! their history is kinda funny honestly
Pureum be like = New comeback new friends yall
this has to be the most confusing group to ever exists
Been following Baba on UA-cam since about 2016.
Yeah, lot of changes with Pureum being the only constant (which hey, was why I followed them 😉)
3 somis on one row.
Jeon So Mi: wow
Btw, hands up for your efforts &time making names list of Baba. 👏👏
Blue fox Wake me up is still in my playlists to this day
Omg i couldn't believe when I heard the name Eyaki
Wake me up is so nice to hear and i love daya's voice
Guess it’s safe to say Somi was meant to go solo😅
thank you for your hard work bec there's no way this was easy to make. you must've done so much research and gotten so many headaches T T
I thought the name sounded familiar haha I remember going to the show and being impressed by their energy and vocals while performing Oh My God, but never tried to learn about them or their other music. Why were there three Somi's.. I cant understand that move
If someone wasn’t paying attention, they wouldn’t be able to tell these were the same group at all.
you should do a pink fantasy video ! their lineup is also interesting!
I already did
She already did
you should really do the group viva if you haven’t!
What the actual HECK is going on in this company for so many members to leave ?!
That’s a GOOD question
The weirder thing for me is their group name cuz baba means dad in my language 💀
Yea in my launguage baba means dad too snd im turkish
@@luvboeun eh? What's your language?
@@kingtaeminemsglasses turkish
@@luvboeun ah, mine's Persian.
Yeah I knew about Baba, but only listened to their song Catch Me.. I then found out that they had a lot of member changes and quickly lost interest. Which is quite sad for the girls.
I'm sure that a lot of people feel the same as I do.
IM THE ONE THAT WROTE THAT ARTICLE ON KPOP WIKI, I mean I wrote it partly.
I'm that Nii person!!
Oh really ? Well thank you, it really helped me !
"15 former member left the group" wow i saw this on the profile website btw
Omg I can’t wait for you to chronicle all the mess around Leader’S 😭 AKB gone extremely wrong
funky music is such a fun song omg
I am hard core k-pop fan for more than 10 years and I never heard of them O.O
Feel bad for pureum.... hearing her songs when she was a solo artist, those were surprisingly really good! Very catchy too :(
Other commenters actually mentioned she was the ceo of the company.
@@askformore9293 that is so badass wth
For the "somi" case it reminds me of an anime akb0048 that used previous member's name and put their number like after original Acchan left the group, the next member who has similar charisma and aura with Acchan will be debut as 2nd Acchan or Ni-daime Acchan
I only watched the intro so far but until this point it seems almost like they were trying to go for that concept Super Junior was originally supposed to have with rotating members and a "graduating" system until the fans were like "uh no lol" and SM gave it up.
pureum actually has great vocals
Talented girls.. being an idol just a summer hobby when they have time
You should also make a video of Badkiz they are really confusing too 🤷🏻♂️
the member line up changes reminds me of the group seven' o' clock
baba is like a group chat and every member doesn't wanna be there
Lmaoooo
