As a fan of Ghost9 since before debut, and doing a little research about the company plus after watching this video now, its so clear that Maroo Ent does better with managing and promoting boy groups (and soloists obv) but they also clearly "prefer" to have girl groups... what they did to Bonus Baby, MyB, Khan, and everyone else whos lost their dreams is just... sick.
The more I learn about Bonus Baby, the more I lean towards the company purposefully pushed them as "sugar babies." it makes sense, especially in this video, when you hear the adult men cheering when they announce their ages. It's so disturbing.
bonus baby deserved way better, starting with a concept that wasn't pandering to pedophiles. like, i love them so much but i can't help but think that silently disbanding was in their best interest, especially knowing with yoojin (kongyoo)'s statements about what she went through. also, euna is now an evangelist missionary in training.

@@kidawesomeness123 oh they already silently disbanded so no need for rebranding. but maroo needs to take a step back and realize how fucked up that was.

Please, and I hope you'd research about him as much as you can. Or if you want a terrible company..cover LM, KDs former label.
Well from what I've seen so far Maroo has been treating Ghost9 pretty well although they haven't had a break yet I'm hoping after this comeback they can get one. Also, I hope that they can change and get better in the future after what they done the past for they sake of the artists at least.
Other companies push their artists while Maroo expects their idols to push them. When they don't, they get disbanded. But if they do, they siphon as much money as they can from them (as seen in how they shipped Jihoon off to fan meetings as soon as he made his solo debut, making him miss his first win encore stage to ride the lingering Wanna One high) Fingers crossed that Jihoon will be nicely treated.
The only reason I knew about this company were because of Kim Jong Kook, KHAN, and Supernova. This company honestly just dosen't know what they are doing. They have no longevity skills for their groups. Like many fail/bad companies, at the end of the day I feel bad for these kids who just want to debut and that work so hard only for it to be made as a joke by companies that are unrealistic that a debut release didn't go viral/ or make quick money. Edit: that Busters clip was terrifying
Yeah exactly. They've talented artist or rather famous artist but don't know how to handle/ manage them. Which I was very disappointed about. Sometimes I feel that Maroo just treat them as an experiment. I felt that even some of the group which succeeded, they didn't get much much help from the company. Honestly I felt that Maroo never did much to help these artist out there. They just threw artist out there, expecting they'll shine in such a competitive industry. But I did see a little improvement with their promotions with recent artist from their company. But still it's incomparable with the bigger agencies. If the company want to succeed, they should be investing more money and not thinking that if this group can't make it, let's move on to the next. This way, they don't even have time to analyse what's wrong and therefore afford to make the same mistake again on the next group they debut.
How are more people not talking about how heartbreaking the trainee's stories about the weighing, not seeing parents and etc. were. Isn't this practically considered child labor in Korea? I know that groups with young members cannot have that member work overtime or else it will be considered child labor. How did this company make them stay till 7 in the morning? And you would think with all this training and pain they put the trainees through, they would at least give them a chance when they're in a group. They just abandon them if the debut song isn't extremely successful? What kind of management is that? I hope they get shut down or something smh.
Euna found peace and happiness in God and Minju still posts dance practices on her insta, I'm happy for Euna, but I've never forgive Maroo for wasting their talent
Omg. Sis weighed 92 pounds at her age and height and couldn't weigh over 101.4?! Isn't the recommended weight for 5' 4 people around 108-125??? I remember being 100 pounds in 7th grade🤧
As someone who has been following khan since their debut I clicked as soon as I read the title it's so sad the way this company works and neglects their idols also, I might be wrong but I think that last year, on Instagram, Euna once mentioned that she was mad (at something related to maroo) but she couldn't speak due to the contract, and she hinted that when it ends she might tell us what has been going on
I feel like jihoon have done so much for maroo to keep going forward, but still they did not treat him right.... Jihoon is the reason why people know about this company
judging from this video alone maroo has really good quality in terms of groups,, the choreographies are engaging, the dancers are in sync and skilled, the songs and music videos have great production but as you said longevity seems to be their issue. These trainees are really talented in dancing and singing so seeing how the company just lets them flop is saddening.
Maroo Ent disbanded so many groups.I was gonna stan MyB and Khan but both disbanded. I'm still worried for Jihoon because he signed up with them.Everything seems fine with him for now tho.
I miss myB a lot. I'm still not over their disbandment. A part of me will always hate the kpop community who ignored them while they had such great songs and music videos and concepts. Or at least the way they were unnoticed. SO unfair.
I think the worst thing is that their idols have amazing songs the debuts are super good(well I like most of them especially because I'm your girl and I'm your girl) Companies need to stop wasting idols time and talent.
Also forgot to say the blonde hair reminded me of bap debut song warrior the two are very very different concept but they all have there members hair dyed blonde
I discovered ghost9 with think of dawn but i didnt keep up very much with them besides music, so I had no idea they were under maroo. It makes me worried about their future tbh, and I also find weird that they pushed out 3 cbs in such a short amount of time? The song Seoul really didn't do it for me. I hope they don't burn out like the previous poor ggs under maroo :/
I think it's not that weird to already have 3 album in 6 months... I mean... Look at Treasure ... They already have 4 albums within 1 years... And both groups debuted around the same time (with around 1 month difference).. And I think... The company kinda treat them well... Their company invested lots of money to make their debut and comeback... But lets still pray Maroo will not treat them the same as the previous groups 😔

@@Hikarahime definitely, most idol school contestants were talented too but the songs chosen were pretty much made to make them look terrible. ah-choo is too high pitched for most intermediate singers (which was the target for contestants) to sing. rookie is pretty much impossible to sing without sounding annoying. separating vocal and dance evaluations into “beginner” and “advanced” teams is literally just putting all the lacking performers together and not letting their more advanced teammates help them learn. and then, to top it all off, it was completely rigged.

I’m glad you did this company. I’m auditioning for companies starting next month and this was on the list. I even researched the company but didn’t find out any of this stuff. Guess I suck at research. Also, makes me worried about the other companies I researched....
@ririenko: I do. I believe most companies offer English versions, I am learning Korean but I don’t know enough to be considered fluent yet, but I know the tell-tell signs if they are scams. I also follow UA-camrs like Carat and others who talk about companies. Like Midnight Theories. So besides Maroo, the other companies on my 35 company list should be fine. Most are known and only a few have been recently created. Like Alpha and Edam Entertainment
@Private Martin: I’ll take a look but I know I found all my 35 companies from Wiki and other sources on Google. So I may or may not have already looked on there.
It’s crazy because I don’t follow this company as closely as I do with others like SM. I was a fan of Wanna One when they were active, but after they disbanded, it became harder for me to keep up with all of the members respective activities, so I had no idea about the stuff that was happening with Jihoon and his company in general.
As much as I am scared and dislike Maroon Ent., my love for Ghost9 is giant and I pray that Maroon doesn't fail them AS MUCH as the other groups. Please. Am PRAYING.
I don't know why they would debut a group with all the same hair color. I would understand why if it was their natural hair color, but all blonde???... That should have been for a comeback or something. Not when MyB were rookies and people are trying to decipher them🤦🏾♀️
Honestly that's what drew me in, I found the concept very interesting and something unusual and I know it drew a few other people in as well so I don't really see a that big problem with it.
@@wendyg.5389 well, b.a.p also had this concept where they were supposedly aliens and they acted like that even in interviews and behind-the-scenes content. myb were just funky with bleach-blonde hair.
They just announced 2 members would be leaving Ghost9: Taesung and Dongjun. I wonder if they’ll get replaced. I hope Maroo isn’t trying to hide anything especially like TS did with TRCNG. I have a feeling the boys are being mistreated behind closed doors which I hope and pray isn’t the case. I doubt Maroo still hasn’t learned.
I feel like they'll add two new members so that their name keeps making sense, otherwise they'd have to change it... Still, I don't think adding new members to replace Dongjun and Taeseung will fix things. The remaining guys will have to fight harder to mark their path down the industry
So I was around when MyB debuted and the vitriole was STRONG. Because they were all blonde and five members, people accused them of copying Red Velvet, who had just had their smash hit Ice Cream Cake with five blonde members. People were spamming the video comments, booing their stages... it was so sad. Edit: I have now watched the rest of the video lol thanks for covering it
could you do a video on GWSN’s current condition? while we as fans are pretty sure their next comeback is soon, they took quite a hit in october as their creative director that helped conceptualize their storyline left the company. i’m pretty sure the comeback was supposed to be in october, but it’s almost april now, and gwsn mentioned the comeback itself in december of 2020. if you could, a video on their situation would help a lot.
With Bonus Baby, I said the same thing under a TWICE video, how it’s strange the girls act very innocent and childlike, and how older men make up like 90% of their live shows in response to it. Nobody wants to see the issue with that.
And I’m not saying older men can’t like girl groups like TWICE, it’s just strange and creepy as hell when they go for these girl groups BECAUSE they look and sound like children.
@@privateeye7383 with the difference that groups like GFriend, TWICE, APRIL who started off with pure and/or quirky concepts slowly changed into other concepts but still being age-appropriate. BONUSBaby stuck to that one concept, which only made the girls super uncomfortable
I was seriously impressed with Bonus Baby’s synchronization. After watching the interview portion, now I see how they got there. On top of not getting enough calories? Brutal.
I will just defend myB concept I think it was very unique and even though I see what people point out, they're still used so differently and the concept is completely different overall. myB's concepts songs mvs etc was just so amazing. I was so excited about this group. I wish they would have had so many other songs. They would have grown and tried different concepts for sure. They were extremely promising.
Kinda frustrated on MyB's disbandment (back in 2015 I was so excited whats next after Ddoddo) but I guess I would understand why Maroo had to let them go, they were not selling that well and as a company... Why would I invest on something where there is no gain? I dont know if Maroo did failed them for not promoting or its just that the general consumer/public doesn't like them (That ghastly physical sales tho... Its heartbreaking.)
Most groups from small companies don't break out that fast though. Secret flopped with their debut, but thanks to Sunhwa getting a good opportunity on Invincible Youth they gained attention and their next song did great. Maroo could have easily gotten Moonhee some sort of promotion to gain attention, but they don't even try. They expect immediate fame.
Ok so I never knew the company name but I actually know and love all of these groups. Wtf? This is the same company? They are the worst at supporting and keeping groups active and thriving.
just a suggestion, but can u maybe sometimes talk about companies that are actually wholesome and good...? (if any lol) I feel like most kpop UA-camrs only talk about bad companies....or are there really no good companies....?
That’s a good question/suggestion. Most companies I know of aren’t too good. I’ve talked about C9 and how they helped their girl group get a second chance (cignature/good day) but I can for sure look more into it
Thanks for compiling this. I have high hopes for Ghost9, but I was totally feeling the lackluster vibes on their insta pages and such.. Rightfully so, it seems. I've been worried for those kids.... I hope they don't get dropped like it seems others have. Really makes me wanna pick up their albums in case it makes a difference. God i wish i had more to spend on stuff like this.. And yet I'm also so cynical about it.. money doesn't automatically fix a company, unfortunately... sigh..
Omg happy 2nd anniversary to this vid 🥳 Now I’m kinda already worried for Ghost9 as they went from having multiple releases a year to only having 1 comeback a year and now it’s been a month and a year since their last one. Sure being on JTBC’s PeakTime did help them a bit but I’m worried Maroo will take advantage of them and let them go which I won’t be surprised knowing what’s happened with MyB/Bonus Baby and their few other groups they’ve had despite them all being GGs unless u count Super Nova cuz they used to be a part of PocketDol/Mbk until the Maroo broke their ties and became Maroo
The worst part is that I genuinely like ghost nine. But I don’t want anything bad to happen to them or to the other people under the agency. I just hope that they get treated better as well as the rest of those underneath the agency.
So basically this company was known for all the unknown groups. I think it's crazy that I've been a kpop fan since 2008, but hadn't heard of any of the groups under this company... Only ones I knew of were The Ark and Khan but both only after they had already disbanded, and had a member appear on The Unit and got into Uni.T. I actually know of and really like Ghost9's songs and B-sides. I hope they can keep going. And of course, Jihoon also has pretty good songs too, but yeah he could be doing so much more right now if we are going to compare him with Kang Daniel's rate of promotions. I think this company, like many other companies, is terrible with handling girl groups.
That clip where they said their age and the 14 year old girl got the loudest cheers really disgusted me....

It's creepy and makes sense watching the video that the agency was trying to get the group attention in anyway possible. The songs and group were actually good haha.
ah yeah I get what you mean
@@jihoonscarat plus like if you knew a group of friends who all had the same dyed hair color. You would think it was creepy.
MyB aka MyBlondies hahha
As a fan of Ghost9 since before debut, and doing a little research about the company plus after watching this video now, its so clear that Maroo Ent does better with managing and promoting boy groups (and soloists obv) but they also clearly "prefer" to have girl groups... what they did to Bonus Baby, MyB, Khan, and everyone else whos lost their dreams is just... sick.
And The Ark
Welp that went well Ghost9 lost 2 members and had only 1 comeback in 2022
i passed the first round of their audition, and i’m SO GLAD u made this vid bc i would have had no idea what i was getting into 😫🙏🏻
Omg no wayyy😳

The more I learn about Bonus Baby, the more I lean towards the company purposefully pushed them as "sugar babies." it makes sense, especially in this video, when you hear the adult men cheering when they announce their ages. It's so disturbing.
Those were members of a different group, not bonus baby
bonus baby deserved way better, starting with a concept that wasn't pandering to pedophiles. like, i love them so much but i can't help but think that silently disbanding was in their best interest, especially knowing with yoojin (kongyoo)'s statements about what she went through.
also, euna is now an evangelist missionary in training.
Ikr?!! Like theres a way to have a age appropriate concept while pandering to people their age- if companies say that fan meets are filled with middle-age guys instead of their age groups they need to do a serious rebranding
@@kidawesomeness123 oh they already silently disbanded so no need for rebranding. but maroo needs to take a step back and realize how fucked up that was.
@@user-nd5lg2rj2j soooo AWKWARD
They don't deserve shit. They're literally promoting ped0philia. wtf is wrong with you
@@humaur5469 the GIRLS deserve better. the fuck is wrong with you?
i've been stanning ghost9 since debut and i had no idea the company had such questionable and problematic history but it seems to me they're managing ghost9 quite well. they're very active on social media, they put out a lot of content like behind the scenes, variety shows and random vlogs, the videos always have english subs and they had released 3 albums since their debut and they're slowly but steadily growing. the only thing that scares me is that maroo might start overworking them but everything seems fine for now
I can relate you. I also had no idea abt Maroo's ex-groups. But now, i know & feel terrible for them. Hope they won't cancel GHOST9 like they did to other groups. I love them soooo much 😭
Well this didn't age well
@@kuromie9708 yeah especially now sure they went on Peaktime and it might have helped but their company may just throw them away especially since it’s been a year since they’ve had a comeback
I will never get over how they failed Khan. They were doing good internationally and the company should have focused on that, should have worked with the girls to get them places.
If it's not too much to ask, can you cover Kang Daniel's story and his company KONNECT. I feel like ifans only know that he's a CEO but didn't realize how hard it was 2019 for him. Please, and I hope you'd research about him as much as you can.
Or if you want a terrible company..cover LM, KDs former label.
i can try sometime for sure! thank you for asking
I would like to see that
Well from what I've seen so far Maroo has been treating Ghost9 pretty well although they haven't had a break yet I'm hoping after this comeback they can get one. Also, I hope that they can change and get better in the future after what they done the past for they sake of the artists at least.
Other companies push their artists while Maroo expects their idols to push them. When they don't, they get disbanded. But if they do, they siphon as much money as they can from them (as seen in how they shipped Jihoon off to fan meetings as soon as he made his solo debut, making him miss his first win encore stage to ride the lingering Wanna One high) Fingers crossed that Jihoon will be nicely treated.
the fact Jihoon didn't even promote his DEBUT song is so messed up
The only reason I knew about this company were because of Kim Jong Kook, KHAN, and Supernova.
I remember being 100 pounds in 7th grade🤧
chile i was 100 pounds in the 3rd grade

As someone who has been following khan since their debut I clicked as soon as I read the title
it's so sad the way this company works and neglects their idols
also, I might be wrong but I think that last year, on Instagram, Euna once mentioned that she was mad (at something related to maroo) but she couldn't speak due to the contract, and she hinted that when it ends she might tell us what has been going on
I feel like jihoon have done so much for maroo to keep going forward, but still they did not treat him right.... Jihoon is the reason why people know about this company
i was waiting on this because i LOVED myB and wished maroo would have tried harder with them.
I still miss MyB and Khan, they were so good 😭
You’re literally my favourite k-tuber 🥺😍
Awh thank you so much
judging from this video alone maroo has really good quality in terms of groups,, the choreographies are engaging, the dancers are in sync and skilled, the songs and music videos have great production but as you said longevity seems to be their issue.
Euna Kim actually went back to US already and most unlikely have stayed in Maroo Entertainment.
yeah i personally she isnt under the company but it also might be hard for her to leave since she is under a contract
But one thing is that Maroo had removed her from the Webpage. So I guess she might not be under the company anymore.
Bonus Baby's logo was not it. Those poor girls- 😭🤭
Khan was so GOOD I miss them and MyB.
Khan needs to return, the girls are so talentEd
I miss myB a lot. I'm still not over their disbandment. A part of me will always hate the kpop community who ignored them while they had such great songs and music videos and concepts. Or at least the way they were unnoticed. SO unfair.
I think the worst thing is that their idols have amazing songs the debuts are super good(well I like most of them especially because I'm your girl and I'm your girl) Companies need to stop wasting idols time and talent.
Also forgot to say the blonde hair reminded me of bap debut song warrior the two are very very different concept but they all have there members hair dyed blonde
Park Ji-Hoon has now left Maroo ☺☺ exited for his future endeavors with his new agency
@@maimaiyonnise_ I didn't like Treasure's marketing strategy either haha I guess this type of content-producing isn't for me (although i do like ghost9 songs)
But yeah I hope maroo are getting better at managing their groups now!
Maroo ent. can't even manage a girl group right and i'm sad that the girls potential was wasted in that company . I hope when they will debut a new girl group will give them proper care and not letting them into the dust and i also hope for ghost9 to become more famous
BONUSbaby is my favorite group ever! I was so sad when they disbanded
I will always miss Khan:( Im your girl? is still one of my favorite songs
I remember when Myb debuted and their comment section was flooded with people comparing them RV bc of ICC, but after a while people started to like the group and stopped comparing them and suddenly they disbanded
this is so sad, i really enjoy gosth9, but now that i see this i wonder how the members are being treated, and i feel sad in a way that indirectly im supporting a company that made all these horrible things to their artists
yea i totally understand that feeling. from what i can tell they are doing a lot better than with past groups but of course we dont know what goes on by closed doors
Congrats to Jihoon for Another music show win! Well deserved 👏
Love this video, I was hoping you would bring up that Lee Yoojung went on Idol School before going in API. I also suggest doing a video about the disaster of Idol School like woof
i hate mnet for setting up all the idol school contestants for failure
Yeah, Idol School was not it, but I think fromis 9 turned out well
@@Hikarahime definitely, most idol school contestants were talented too but the songs chosen were pretty much made to make them look terrible. ah-choo is too high pitched for most intermediate singers (which was the target for contestants) to sing. rookie is pretty much impossible to sing without sounding annoying. separating vocal and dance evaluations into “beginner” and “advanced” teams is literally just putting all the lacking performers together and not letting their more advanced teammates help them learn. and then, to top it all off, it was completely rigged.
@@Hikarahime yeah, apart from the fromis_9 members, only a few contestants managed to make it big or at least be middle-tier artists

i used to really like bonusbaby when i was like 14 and i remember finding the name of the group weird and the outfits too but I didn’t know it was that bad 🤢🤢 i feel horrible for the former members
Moonhee has pretty much given up her idol career and is focusing on acting. Hayoon’s prime years are being wasted with no way out due to contract obligations. Way to go Maroo! You ruined 2 promising young talent who were both aces on Mix Nine.
I'm pretty sure the other members are also on the way to leaving the industry. Kongyoo (former member) is now focusing on her studies and wants to become a music teacher
I miss Moonhee🥺😔
I remember planning to stan 1ps back then i literally searched the members teaser photos and searching for their song back on Junior High. Whew the memories of being a new kpopp fan lol

so far they seem to be doing okay. even thought maroo is not the greatest company you can still support the boys x
I miss Teen Teen I wish they continued that group (I really loved their concept) 😔
I’m glad you did this company. I’m auditioning for companies starting next month and this was on the list. I even researched the company but didn’t find out any of this stuff. Guess I suck at research. Also, makes me worried about the other companies I researched....
Maybe you aren't bad at research, maybe they know how to keep things hidden👀
I wouldn't put anything past kpop companies at this point
Just be carful to not get scammed and if you do get in read your contract thoroughly!! Do not go into debt for these companies!!

BAP had this concept at debut too if I remember correctly. It worked out very well for them....back then.

Just came back to say two members of Ghost9 left the group. I looked up their company and sure enough, Maroo Entertainment popped up.
BONUSBaby stuck to that one concept, which only made the girls super uncomfortable
thank you for making this! i really love ghost9 and i loved khan but this company has GOT to go 😭
you're so welcome!
I was seriously impressed with Bonus Baby’s synchronization. After watching the interview portion, now I see how they got there. On top of not getting enough calories? Brutal.
Monhee would be a top visual in Kpop
yay ! bestie made a new video
It’s not unique though? I seen older groups do it before them
Kinda frustrated on MyB's disbandment (back in 2015 I was so excited whats next after Ddoddo) but I guess I would understand why Maroo had to let them go, they were not selling that well and as a company...
They expect immediate fame.
i was such a big fan of both 1ps and myb, it’s such a shame. they deserved so much better.
Bonusbaby concept was disugsting and disturbing, the intention is sexualized young kids
Ok so I never knew the company name but I actually know and love all of these groups. Wtf? This is the same company? They are the worst at supporting and keeping groups active and thriving.
Ikr 😭 all of their songs also such a bop, but maroo just ruined them 💔
just a suggestion, but can u maybe sometimes talk about companies that are actually wholesome and good...? (if any lol) I feel like most kpop UA-camrs only talk about bad companies....or are there really no good companies....?
That’s a good question/suggestion. Most companies I know of aren’t too good. I’ve talked about C9 and how they helped their girl group get a second chance (cignature/good day) but I can for sure look more into it

Sure being on JTBC’s PeakTime did help them a bit but I’m worried Maroo will take advantage of them and let them go which I won’t be surprised knowing what’s happened with MyB/Bonus Baby and their few other groups they’ve had despite them all being GGs unless u count Super Nova cuz they used to be a part of PocketDol/Mbk until the Maroo broke their ties and became Maroo

its quite sad. i hope other ppl don't make the mistake of going to this company.
Now that you mentioned Busters, could you make a video about their company? There are several things that do not close me at all
I loved the video btw
i have already made a video on busters in the past and how the company is a bit shady, but i do want to make an update to that video
myb and the ark deserved better, the ark didn't even do bad for being under a basically unknown company with zero to no promotion
If something happens to ghost9, I will fight someone
