I played in Vanilla undead priest.
When I chose that it was just for the irony of being undead casting holy spells.
From level 1 to 60, from dungeons to raiding and rank 14 High warlord pvp I never spect into shadow. Not once.
I was a healer through and through.
I used to see people going for rank 14 asking for a heal bot. I on the other hand, had my group of kill bots. I was nobodys heal bot. I had players that knew if I died, they died. When a hunter or warrior would focus on me, my kill bots stopped what they were doing and got them off my ass.
this is the best one so far ... this guy is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to priests.

I’m warrior tank and the wife is priest heals and we duo level for quests while we aren’t running dungeons for the guild. It seems we’re getting a lot of exp from the dungeons early on at least which is cutting into finishing quest lines and such... which doesn’t really matter for those but it still feels good to actually finish what we can in a zone. I might just switch over to dungeons since it’s no wait for us.

doesnt make sense that dungeon grind is the best way to level..THIS type of play style is what KILLED retail wow, just grind dungeons *and later pvp* and completely skip all the questing experience. people loved classic because of the player interactions and sense of community, secluding yourself to a single 5 man group or something feels very anti classic to me. i hope they change the xp values, but thats my opinion
It is being overblown. The amount of players who are going to have the same dedicated leveling group all the way through dungeons is going to be a small list. They don't need to change anything because a couple streamers and other power levelers may abuse it to rush 60. They weren't going to group with you anyway, so no loss of social interaction.
Lezonta is great - been watching his beta stream, I highly recommend his content: Knowledgeable, but really chill and friendly.
These deep - dive videos are really valuable, keep up the great work!

What happened to traditional "i do quests, but also dungeons when possible" way of leveling?) In that situation i want to be able to solo mobs AND be some sort of reliable healer...
go smite spec b4 lvl 40 - it is a fair trade to do both, after 40 you can go shadow or develop holy talents (harder leveling, easier healing in 5 man)

leveld my priest to lvl 18 now heading on to wc - feeling great, i specced spirit tap first its a joke how you can spare so much water and be so efficient + with troll racial - now getting wand 5/5 and i'm hyped for SWP! healed rfc easy peasy with a lvl 13 tank with rank 1 Heal giving his whole hp bare back so this was my last resort button and little damage healed with lesser r2 and 3 for medium towards half HP dmg - and keep wanding +swp

y, i have leveled 4 priests myself, been rank 12 Marshal, gladiator & done raiding. Even i still learned alot from this vid. Props to lezonta for being so knowledgable
I think Hydramist makes more sense on the leveling stuff but still nice to have different opinions of course.
Is there a +Healing lvling guide like when is +healing on gear useful and how much should we be looking to get based on each lvl zone and based on each lvl what rank healing spells should we be using considering base stats don't effect healing.

To activate Spirit Tap, you must deliver the killing blow to a mob. Spirit Tap will not function in dungeons if you are the healer, but you can experiment with it yourself.
When you get more experience you’ll understand how to get it and when you need it.
When mobs are dying try to snipe it with your wand. Its normally pretty easy since people change target when the add is about to die.

just a quick mention: soooooo much talk on talents and gear. not much on downranking, specific spells, raid encounters
Actually their is debate about Dwarf priests for PvE on alliance, as a raid team is only going to need so many fear wards (Usually about 4) and after that quota is met then from a PVE perspective you want humans for the spirit buff that adds more scaling into end game content since its effectively scaling with your priest twice due to spirit mechanics, and its beneficial to have some more Desperate prayers for the panic button sans GCD.
Edit: He thinks humans are the black sheep? Yea.... this guys not at a level to be the focus of this kind of video. Tips sorry man but even you had to say something, thats two BIG misconceptions in just the first few minutes. You could say 3 but i dont really want to let people know about the pvp stuff he got wrong and why. Hes views on positioning and tremor totems are interesting though and seem to indicate he didnt actually pvp at a high level despite getting in a group for the HWL pub grind.
I never went on an Ony raid where my Fear Ward wasn't wanted..... Don't forget that if you have extra Fear Wards you can actually get more people than just the MT.
@@mattp6089 Its a question of reliance vs overall gain, the fear ward is wanted but its also not needed. As you also give less overall healing benefit, any raid looking to truly min max was also looking for humans past a certain comfort point.
The reason for saying human is «black sheep» is from a PvP and leveling perspective. I am pretty sure that he knows that human mathematically has the best racial in pve. The guy has played as a priest in high level guilds for ages, but he is playing on PvP servers so all aspects of the game should be concidered when choosing a race.

Also he didnt mention any of the human pve benefits, and what he did say about straight dwarf was wrong as weve both now said.
RedGrobo in duelling situations humans is not the worst pick. But in open world leveling, questing, farming and PvP shadowmeld far outweighs desperate prayer (CD too long on it) and perception.

I'm a little confused here. You mentioned that private servers didn't factor in the 5-man bonus percentage and elites were generally harder, but how does that impact dungeon levelling being faster than question when classic releases in 12 days? If dungeon levelling back in Vanilla was slower than questing, what has changed now?
1.12 dungeon leveling was faster than traiditonal questing for some classes back in vanilla, but because of the lack of group coordination tools and overall knowledge that we have today, people didnt know it. Hope that helps!

I've been advocating Troll Priest over UD for a long time, ppl think WotFS is so godly and DP is OP but both are overrated. 1. Alliance have fewer PvP Warlocks, always has been this way. 2. Alliance has fewer Priests as healers or Spriest in PvP, because of Paladins. As a horde PvPer, you get feared much less frequently than you expect, particularly in group pvp (Shaman Tremor). DP can be removed by Paladins, Priests and Jungle Remedy (super cheap on AH or farm from lvl 30 mob in STV), and importantly, by Dwarf Stoneform. There's going to be a lot more Dwarf Warriors, Rogue, Paladins and Priest this time around because ppl realize how strong Dwarf racials are.
Finally, Shadowguard scales 100% spell dmg like Lightning Shield. With +500 spell dmg, it starts to hit like a truck each proc, and ofc, shadowing weaving, blackout and vampiric embrace triggers too. Works against spell casters, and knocks back their spell casts when it procs. Cheap to cast, no cooldown (important!). Hex is very useful in group pvp on multi targets since Paladins and Priests can't remove it.
Even if troll had no racials i'd still pick troll.
They are both good. Just be thankful horde has two solid choices, where as alliance needs to deal with one clearly better choice that nobody wants to roll.

Being able to Shadowmeld defend in WsG or bases in AB and also able to sit in midfield eat/drink is so underrated. This min/max cookie cutter is just so meh. For you people who doubt dps priests for pvp, this guy makes a decent video on it talking about being able to dispel enemy FC's FAPs and what not, plus the use of something I seldom hear of, Mind Vision. Be a dynamic player and play the entire class. Drop form and heal too!

Hardest part about priests in vanilla is if you want to min max, you got to play troll or dwarf, the worst looking choices for casters a.k.a biggest consumers of deviate fish.
( thought that is good choice if you want to not want to play wow)

Shadow priest was my all time favorite spec and priest class overall. I tried other healing classes like druid,shaman or paladin but they fell behind and priest was all time best. I never enjoyed disc priest even when I tried and it felt boring with the gameplay but shadow for dpa was soo good and for healing holy when we had off specs kn bc. I never played wotlk only bc and cata and thats all. I also tried vanilla a bit . also played mop and I kinda like shadow priests how they work in mop but they removed talent trees so I felt off of the game at that point so don't played mop much and also stop because of pandas and monks added into the game. I felt that it was not wow any longet I fell in love with earlier before. So shadow was best for me + also I can switch off shadow and heal if needed and in my opinion I enjoyed pvp mostly in cata for pvp porpuses.
Damn i wanted a dungeon level one...
Only thing keeping me from going troll is their mounts, I get very motionsick using them. Also depends on what my husband goes. if he goes orc, i will still go troll, even if the mounts will make me sick, until i can get another type of mount lol

Guilds are killing Onyxia with 15 man party... without max epics. Talking about min/max at that point, when it feals like u could send 40 naked ppl, without single point in talent trees to kill her, and still win is pointless. Ok maybe i have pushed top far ;p.

53:25 You only need fear ward if you are going to be assign or the raids main tank healer or the off tank healer. For general group healing human healer is the bomb.

Actually yes, no one has covered it specifically but depending on your profession you could profit a lot as well as the rare drops that do occur. They cover it near the end of the video but don't go in great depth
if you power level to 60 through dungeons you will have other ways to make money in zones most people cant go to yet.
Shadowguard procs blackout and it also causes pushback on cast which in itself its crazy. I've always made undead priest but I'm gonna roll a troll this time around if I play horde
Not only that, but troll recial is great in dungeons also; when ever the tank pulls i dot all the mobs with rank 1 shadow ward pain and watch as they get 3-5 second stunned. you are essentially mitigating damage to the tank with the troll racial as a healer.
can anyone confirm is a PI build is viable for 5 man content? or is holy basically required?
Only played a priest to about level 32 during early vanilla. Though a friend did have a level 60 shadow priest with decent gear. I would actually pvp with his shadow priest once in a while and did rather well.

Why more than 3 points in Shadow focus? In Kargoz' priest leveling guide he mentions that "6% into shadow focus is gonna cap you out against mobs that are two levels higher than you"

I'm just a noob, but when Lezonta dismisses the Lightwell for Warlock group, he argues that it would decrease the DPS of warlock (sine they would have to move to the lightwell - they wouldn't be castic spells), but isn't the whole point of lightwell for warlocks to increase the DPS? I'm mean ok, they have to move, but in return they can spam life tap to get mana so they can spam more nukes. What am I missing?
