There is great value here. Perpetual calendar AND a tourbillon for under $20K. Very attractive presence and price.

For a Frederique Constant watch, that's A LOT of effort they've put on this.

@TVMisterTero they haven’t always used in house movements and still some of their lower end automatics use imported movements. Still think they make great watches though.

The new kid who is creating their movement now is a genius. Wait til you see their new stuff later this year.

@@ChrisCominAtYaLive I'm talking like Geneva-seal level finishing dude. This watch at best is on par w/ JLC finishing...but normally, their watches have basic standard finishing.

I trust that for Tim to be presenting it, it has to have some redeeming quality. So what gives? It's too much for this price. Something's gotta give.

Watches have incredibly high profit margins. Frederique Constant has always been "affordable" for what you get. Also, its in stainless steel and the finishing is pretty average compared to a lot haute horlogerie pieces.
Its still "expensive" at around ~$20,000 mind you. Its really a sign of a manufacturer who put good money into developing a good platform and cutting the right corners where possible (case, movement finishing) where you're unlikely to notice the difference without proper examination. Its still handsome but doesn't compare close to like a proper Breguet movement.

.... It's a perpetual calendar and tourbillon both of which would cost about 10k+ each separately in one watch. Please find me that combination in another watch at a similar price point.
      I really hate watch snobs.

Why would they call themselves "Frederique constantin" like vacheron?

    • @ReubenLL28

According to the wikipedia page: "Its name is derived from the names of great-grandparents of each founder - specifically Frédérique Schreiner (1881-1969) and Constant Stas (1880-1967)"

It's Constant not Constantin. Most brands that use normal names use the surname of either the founders or some important relative of them, that's why some brands share some part of the name although they are totally different and non related
