Wow, finding your channel has really inspired me to learn more about cybersecrity and I now inspire to pave a path to my first job. Although finances can be tough, resources like these are so heplful, especially in hard times. I truly cannot thank you enough for providing all this helpful information on your channel.
Go for it!
I started the Cisco Training back in Dec 2023. I just found the ISC2 last night. I am also supplementing with vendor training and Coursera on individual tools that covered in the Cybersecurity training. I have used Splunk, Nmap and Wireshark and Palo Alto Firewalls, but have not been formally trained. I am interested in these tools, so I will retain the knowledge. Thanks for all of your content!
Good job!
Straight to the point, no bs or anything just quality and content

Thank you for this video, very day I get up and sit at my PC and fill out application and practice my typing. I have been running into what you mention on here, but am not giving up. I have always been interested in computers since I was a kid and now at 59 am starting a new carer and am excited. I feel like a kid in a candy store.

Forage is the most easiest and the most convenient to add to your linkedin too.. Currently preparing for CC meanwhile doing Google certification along with letsdefend learning paths ( suggested by you).. Will be graduating in couple of months.. Hope I could get a job by all this.. Thanks for always uploading quality content ❤
Keep up the good work 👏🏻
Hey you have shown me the path I am searching for.. Thanks man👏 Really appreciated your work😊

My mentor put me on to The Forage. Amazing stuff and you are correct about non-technical roles and I am making the pivot towards non-technical, in time I can believe I will be able to bridge the gap between both :)
If you’re planning to learn the non-technical then GRC Mastery is what you’re looking for:

Thank you for sharing these great free resources and recommendations. I had started to learn about Cybersecurity with the free Cisco & ISC2 CC courses, and they are indeed really good foundational courses. Qualys was next in my list too. The job simulation is a game changer for those of us without experience! That is awesome!

Thank you so much for this. I feel like the path into cyber feels overwhelming at times- this is excellent! I’m currently doing a security+; do you think I should conclude it? Is it on par with these resources to get an entry level role?
yes finish security+, its good to have if you already started with it

Huge Golden Nuggets Dropped on this one!!! Thanks for sharing!!! BTW, you need some sort of company email for Qualys but if you have a school (college) email that you can use, then that would work too (should). I got my Qualys VMDR cert back in May of 2023 by using my school email. Thanks again!!!
well done!
Good stuff, thank you very much for these videos.
my pleasure :)
Nuff Respect bro. I have no technical skills and no knowledge about this, but I have been looking for some info about Cyber security I couldn't understand none at all and think it could be hard and a lot to study. I found your channel very understandable. Am almost in my late 30s I don't know if I will be a good candidate for the field. I used to work hard but I just had a cervical spine surgery am still in the healing process, and now am thinking about what should I do to have a better job where I won't have to lift heavy duties anymore. After watching your video I will give it a shot. Thank you for such inspiration and I just subscribed. I will use your info to start to study 🙏🏾 once I get this certificate would I have to apply for more certificate? Cause I know there's CompTIA and Comptia + etc I know all this you have to courses and earn a certificate for them.
welcome here! yes you can do the free resources until you have some savings then you should invest in some good quality training like the ones mentioned in this video:

Really informative video . Thanks

Brilliant !!
All Videos will have Special Contents . Great Sir

I got my ISC2 CC certification this month. Took several other courses before and I'm continuously studying, of course. Really hope that is going to broaden the possibilities. 🤞🏼🙌🏼
But I have noticed that many of the entry-level vacancies ask for the CISSP, which says on the ISC2 website that is for those who have 5+ years of experience, so the same old story... 🤷🏼♂ But I'm applying anyway!
well done, keep applying! and consider investing in some good quality training with these
ua-cam.com/video/wLgkX6F3ZDA/v-deo.htmlsi=DH6fESpZPUqzR-Bl
I am currently studying for the CC myself. Congrats on passing. What were the Test Questions like? Also, what should I be looking for?
@@michaeldickerson98 Thanks!
As I read comments from people before I took the test, most of the questions are indeed quite different from the training course, but taking the entry or final test from the training several times helped me a lot to better understand the concepts.
@@Wesjapa100 you talking about the pre and post assessments cool I got it.

This video is so helpful for me a fresh graduate 🥳😍👏
Good luck!!
thank you so much for every video you make! you really are an invaluable resource for people wanting to get their first job in cybersecurity.
i want to get my first job as a security analyst whilst getting my bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering, i'm between studying and then travelling to take the isc2 cc cert exam or getting financial aid for google's cybersecurity professional course, and getting that cert without having had any expenses at all. i'd love to know your opinion if i could.
thanks again for dedicating the time and effort to help beginners, i'm immensely thankful!:)
google cert is better ans consider investing in some paid training as well
@@UnixGuy thank you so much!!! will do!
Thank you UnixGuy! In this scenario of slowdown and recession, people like you give us a lot of hope for the future.

Atlast. thnx for this one sir
Always welcome
Love your videos; they're very informative and offer valuable insights that are applicable in real life, unlike other channels. So, thank you for sharing such valuable content.
Could you please guide me? I'm currently involved in digital marketing but have recently developed a keen interest in OSINT and digital forensics. I'm eager to delve deeper into this field.
Do you think OSINT will become a separate domain in the future? I'm interested in pursuing a career in it.
Are there any specific roadmaps for OSINT, or should I follow the traditional cybersecurity analyst roadmap, considering OSINT is a part of it (please correct me if I'm mistaken)?
no OSINT will not be its own domain, that’s the honest truth. follow this:
ua-cam.com/video/eekzaI0UFDA/v-deo.htmlsi=Rf1viywG5WR9oAw1
Thank you for the helpful content! To clarify is there a specific order to do these trainings or should we pick one out of the four resources?
it’s better to do them in order :)
@@UnixGuyThank you UnixGuy :)
It's kinda hard to believe that free stuff will get me a job, because in life i learned that if its too good to be true its probably is! But since to you are talking about about it than i am definitely i am going to do that !
So thank you very much for that! I am running out of money since i don't have a job, and i am doing some certificates right now!
they’re just another tool in your arsenal, do them and mix with the paid courses too!
@@UnixGuy Thx 😊
Thank you brother
Sir thank you so much for sharing....i just began the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate and its my goal to become a Cybersecurity consultant who has a good grasp of the offensive, defensive and GRC aspect of this wonderful field. Sir, I will be very honoured and privileged 🙏🏾 to get your own opinion on this
in this case you need thise paid certs:
ua-cam.com/video/wLgkX6F3ZDA/v-deo.htmlsi=DH6fESpZPUqzR-Bl
@@UnixGuy Thank you again, Sir
Forage it self tells not use those virtual internship certificatuons in the experience section 🤷 (You can check the info given out there once you complete the virtual internship)
okay great
I went through the ISC2 cybersecurity course. If you actually pay attention, take notes, and don't rush through, it has really valuable information that you need to know. I did not go take the actual certification exam because I am almost done with my cybersecurity degree and just wanted the knowledge from the course. I get plenty of tests in class, lol.
ok
Thank you very much i asked you about this video very very thank you
you welcome 😎
Question, after doing these things in the video, what kind of job should i even be applying for? Analyst? Or maybe something else? Love the videos btw
Apply to everything and take what you can get. the free resources are just a start, you should be saving up and investing in some good quality training after
Could you kindly advise me on what specifications and features I should prioritize when selecting a laptop for studying and practicing cybersecurity? Additionally, are there any specific models or brands that you would recommend for beginners in this field?
whatever you can afford, you dont need anything fancy
Can you make a vid on how somebody can become a network engineer or a path for someone who wants to get into networking
it’s not my area of expertise :)
You are a blessing! Thank you Jesus for bringing his video in my search. Wish me the best of luck. I have accounting, problem solving, fraud, and QA experience. I'm a visual person and it's a bit hard to take information in by just reading.
Best of luck!
Very informative
Glad it was helpful!
Can you make a video on the roadmap to Cybersecurity Writing with no prior knowledge? Thank you!
it’s not a huge field, it needs some GRC knowledge but thats about it
Hello UnixGuy, I have been watching a lot of your videos multiple times as I am getting started into learning Cybersecurity. As from your suggestions I have now started the Cisco’s free training, however I’d like to know what are the difference from the previous video you made on how to become a cyber analyst. In there you are suggesting a completely different path ( starting with the cybersecurity google training, following with blue team level 1 and so on…. ). Has something changed since 1 year ago? Are these courses better compared to one you previously mentioned?
Nothing changed, these are free resources for those want to do something free until they can save up for better quality training.
Blue team is good but so are other certs I mention here:
ua-cam.com/video/wLgkX6F3ZDA/v-deo.htmlsi=rt_flFpMxil2fZkZ
At some point you will have to invest in good quality training, but for those who can't afford it then they can do free stuff while they save up
This is some great information. Currently doing the Comptia Security+, however, as it's all theory, I was thinking of doing the Google Cyber Security too since it gives you some practical hands on experience. However, many people say don't do both. Perhaps doing the course in this video might be better?
I highly disagree with what other people are saying. I did the Google Cybersecurity Cert first which gave me hands-on experience thru projects, then used the discount code you get from completing it to buy a voucher for the Sec+. Passed it last week. You'll still need to do some more learning after the Google Cert
Dont listen to those ‘many people’ that you speak off. Google cert is great
@@lord_nishingtonhow long did it take you to finish the Google cert?
can you please implement a payment plan for the GRC course. That would be a life saver.
you can use something like Afterpay, but I personally don’t recommend this. Best is to save up for it
Very informative this is the exactly problem i was facing as CEH certification is very expensive nd i can't afford that. Love from india♥
Glad it was helpful!
I absolutely love your videos. If you’re able to answer this one question for me - id be eternally grateful. I’v passed net+ more recently sec+. While I am uncertain about which specific field of cybersecurity to pursue, I know I want to pursue cybersecurity.
Now that I have passed sec+, I want to focus on getting Linux skills and potentially passing my RHCSA while simultaneously gaining python skills. Regarding python, after I feel like I’v gained a fundamental understanding of it, funnel my python knowledge into doing cybersecurity python related projects (your security engineer video in the past spoke about this). Do you think this is a good way to approach me breaking into the cybersecurity industry without a formal degree? Would you alter the way I’v decided to approach it?I am 22 years old.
Thank you UnixGuy
hey mate welcome here!
I don’t recommend RHCSA, this is way overkill for cyber security! you don’t need more ‘foundation’, what you really need to start to learn cyber security! Start here:

Hi , I just want to know. You start doing these courses
Any tips for a sophomore in high school wanting to start in cyber security? I have been taking an interest in cybersecurity but not sure how I should start and what should I do and not do while Learning online.
if you’re in school then just do the free stuff in this video :)
For isc2 cc certification we need to pay 50$ after the exam for certification maintainence
pass it and put it on your CV, thats enough
