Day Three Tauck Tour Grand Alaska Royal Princess Cruise Trip Homestead Talkeetna Mahay's Jet Boat

Day 3 of the Tauck Tour takes us to the Porterfield homestead where we are entertained by Jeanelle & Levi Porterfield. We then travel to the small town of Talkeetna where we meet the mayor, then leave on a jet boat ride on the Talkeetna, Susitna and Chulitna rivers. This is day 3 in a series of about 16 days we plan to post.

You two are definitely having a great adventure. The river didn’t look to inviting foe a swim. Did you see anyone fishing foe salmon? Thanks foe sharing.

Hi Kathy, This was a little early for the big salmon run, but while river rafting we did have a salmon run into our rubber raft in the shallows. The water is not clear in this location because of glacial runoff, but it doesn't bother the salmon. Very cold for swimming.
