I suppose the show’s writers thought they were referencing the Galactic Concordance when they showed the New Republic not getting involved, but if they knew a single condition of that treaty, they’d know the New Republic is contractually bound to retaliate against the Imperial Remnant, now that Gideon has broken several of the conditions! Even if Gideon were just some independent warlord, that would make it even easier for the New Republic to get involved without breaking the treaty because Gideon’s fellow Moffs would’ve claimed to have no connections to him!
Another reoccurring theme: the Republic doesn't care until the fighting reaches the inner rim or core worlds, involves the Sith, or is an extragalactic threat. I think that this is definitely a factor as well. I think that if each system had an actually functioning defense force, the system would work out fine. They would all not trust each other, and therefore their defense forces would rarely leave the system in fear of leaving it unprotected. Easy to answer and without watching the video: At this point Post Endor the Republic has been overstretched, they are still fighting the last imperial hold outs not enough ships or resources to properly secure the outer rim.
The new republic should have absorbed the imperial navy remnants. This would have strengthened them and gained the loyalty of imperial loyal worlds. The new republic was always going to fail without the Jedi. Planets and systems should have been allowed to govern themselves with trade agreements set up .
@@neomcdoom reminds me of the brotherhood of steel and the enclave from fallout. After beating the enclave they would never have been thought to cooperate together. But as in that case a strong willed jedi could have brought them together for a common cause.
The issue is that the New Republic is too busy fighting off score of Imperial tin-pot warlords who are trying to carve out their own mini-empires. For every Moff Gideon running around in the Outer Rim, there are at least three republic taskforces fighting ambitious imperial-revanchists.
Sounds like something having an intelligence agency could solve. Have all encounters with Imperial remnants documented thoroughly, and reviewed by someone at HQ.
I'm pretty sure the New Republic isn't 100% aware of Moff Gideon. The New Republic is flying through, trying to patrol the Outer Rim and scanning for Imperial ships. It also doesn't help their patrol doesn't even include a corvette, it's just two X-Wing patrols. Moff Gideon, while apparently has a fleet, we've only seen an Arquintens and a Gozanti freighter. It's less noticeable than an Imperial 1 or 2.
New Republic’s Centrist Senators are too busy profiting First Order Weapons. Leia confirmed it in bloodlines and Resistance. Kazuda Xiono’s Dad is most likely funded First Order weapons too, which explains why he survived after Hosian Prime was destroyed if he doesn’t believe in the Resistance and Tierny manage to Have Kaz’s Service records. I wouldn't be surprised if what Saw Gurraa and his group did during the Rebellion era also painted the Rebels and the New Republic in a bad light in terms of what the war did for people who wanted no part in the conflict. Let's face it for all the good intentions Saw had, he had innocent blood on his hands just as much as the Empire had, and because of those actions it wouldn't be a shock if the people who had issues with the Rebels used that as a reason for not viewing the Rebels to be better then the Empire in that respect.
maybe Filoni and Fraveau will try to avenge the New Republic, make captain Teva bring a fleet to shoot down Gideon's ship, maybe even a Starhawk for fanservice.

Moff Gideon is essentially making small but powerful moves far away from the new republic capital and saying “do you really want to start a whole war over this little move?” Never heard of that in human history...
The Empire wasn't truly defeated, just put in the fridge for a while, all the way preparing Palpy's second coming. Moff Gideon was simply following his instructions while hiding in the Outer Rim, where people won't run to the authorities for fear that Gideon will retaliate before help arrives.

Lando said it best in .y favorite Age of Empires reskin, "the Republic was spread too thinly across the galaxy, dealing with every Ex Imperial with a Star Destroyer that could call themself a warlord." And to play devil's advocate for the lunacy of the New Republic, maybe you can handle the average warlord with a squadron of X and Y wings, but what happens if they fail? How demoralizing would a squadron being wiped out in what should have been a routine mop up. It would be the New Republic's own version of the 90s US campaign in Somalia.
If Bail Organa didn't die, he is most likely the best candidate to become the Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic. Now, how would this played out? And by that, I meant how different it will be from Mon Mothma's regime. P.S: Personally, I like to refer it as the Third Republic because the Republic before the Ruusan Reformation as the First Republic and the one after the Ruusan Reformation as the Second Republic.
It's what 3-4 years after Endor? I'm sure it's going to take them years to stabilize it's control over any gains. Though we also don't know how the empire fractured maybe Gideon doesn't have control over what is deemed important systems and is a secondary importance.
I'm not sure if the New Republic is incompetent as a totality. There might some council members and decision makers who grown lazy and lax from the lack of major war. Often the aftermath of a war is as equally as unpleasant as the ongoing war. War does create homesick soldiers, soldiers undergoing multiple mental stresses among other tragic conditions. Most likely with able manpower stretched thing across the galaxy, it's difficult to spare the forces to tackle hidden Empire cells. Carson Teva did some digging and investigating, which is the closest to action we see from the New Republic's end if not only indirectly. Another possibility is that the core planetary inhabitants and politicians labelled the outer worlds as inferior and too remote and therefore not worth going to, giving Empire remnants exactly the breathing space they needing to regroup, followed by the First Order successors.
Maybe the new republic thinks oh yeah we got rid of the empire but we will take precaution and search the outer rim in case type s*** but this next episode is going to be a f****** amazing one
the problem i have with the newer disney era is how they rushed the end of the conflict, in the older legends stories the empire never totally goes away, so there is always a need for an armed force, plus there are other threats in the galaxy pirates warlords slavers ect. the pre empire republic didn't do a good job of providing security and dumping the problem on to local forces is a disaster waiting to happen, who knows how many shady politicians ware going to steal money and barely fund their forces or turn them into their own private armies, a decent sized military is needed if not only for policing in space but for other reasons, emergency evacuation like during the sun buster story line were they had to eva an entire solar system because it was going to be destroyed. Personally i would have kept the military in place but changed its mandate to peace keeping, law enforcement actions (dealing with pirates and the like) and supporting colonies (army core of engineers can build some very impressive things in places you wouldn't think it possible) set up sector fleet bases around secure hyperspace trade routes and population centers and start setting up patrols and areas of enforcement and system by which the area can be policed and worlds kept safe, local forces can be a supplement but the main focus is to have one a chain of command and responsibility so that if say someones corrupt that person has higher ups that can deal with them. also this way if something happen, ie a new threat emerges, like the empire resurfacing or the vong -what ever it is -you have a military force that can be put into action and your not caught off guard. disarming is just going to cause a lot of unemployment. also lets face it not making sure the empire is totally defeated just came back to bite them every time and its what happened with the sith -if you don't completely defeat them they just show up again way later and screw everything up again
If he is Generation tech does that mean we are Allen and if we are Allen does that mean Generation tech is all our names combined and does that mean we are generation tech and Allen doesn't exist anymore ?
The EU New Republic kept the army because they had the good sense to remember that trouble always comes back around to make more of itself. What will Mon Mothma do when an army of Force enhanced jetpack super troopers, a Chiss Ascendancy strategic mastermind, or a group of fanatics hollow out a planet to build a shotgun Death Star and start gobbling outlying Star Systems? Give them a stern talking to before being vaporized? Speak softly, carry a big stick, and when necessary use that stick to shatter plastoid armor like glass; you'll go much further than merely speaking softly.

War is simple...the enemy is clear, the objectives (at a high level) are clear. Its base...refined and instinctual. Kill or be killed. However, what comes after is a different story.
Wasn't Gidion executed for war crimes, officially? Stated in the first part of the season one finally.
Yeah, but it was most likely a body double or forged documents
I think we would might see what happened to Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian Season 3.
And then Trump was only president in almost 20 years that didn't start any new foreign occupations. And they say he's the fascist LoL 😂.
He wanted too. I suggest you at internet how he go to war with Iran and with Israel backing them up.
We just gonna skip over "Welcome back to Allen, my name is Generation Tech" 😂
Maybe he had a sort of mini-stroke?
theres alot of countries that take ages to rebuild after independence. doesnt help when outside influences try to stage coups too and install a new dictator to keep their status quo
Very true
Yup, and those countries aren't as big, as the New Republic. And besides, it's the Outer Rim. It's as lawless and remote as it always was.
That would be a good excuse if disney didn't explicitly say they disarmed. They had the military they got rid of it theres no excuse for this
As someone into real history and obsessed with Star Wars, I love how you drew those parallels.
The New Republic thinks that Moff Gideon’s dead. Cara Dune said that his official record states he was executed for war crimes. That could be one reason why they won’t go after him, they may think that it’s just some small holdout.
I really like how you show relatable similarities between the real events of our world and the fictitious ones in Star Wars.
Keep it up Generation Tech.
I’m pretty sure the Empire kidnapped Allen and replaced him with a shape shifting dolphin
Can’t wait for the next episode. Also here really early
Vid at 7 likes early
@@charliem6467 Wow you got the no one cares badge
@@Moonwake534 I care
Why did you think it was important enough to say you were here early?
Easy to answer and without watching the video: At this point Post Endor the Republic has been overstretched, they are still fighting the last imperial hold outs not enough ships or resources to properly secure the outer rim.
Thank you! Even Greef (Carl Weathers) said the Empire failed to secure the Outer Rim. The OG Republic had the same issue as well.
The new republic should have absorbed the imperial navy remnants. This would have strengthened them and gained the loyalty of imperial loyal worlds. The new republic was always going to fail without the Jedi. Planets and systems should have been allowed to govern themselves with trade agreements set up .
I don’t think the imperial Navy would be interested in working with the new republic
Thigh related atrocities
Sounds like something having an intelligence agency could solve. Have all encounters with Imperial remnants documented thoroughly, and reviewed by someone at HQ.
Ben solo did know that Vader was his grandfather. He even says so in the sequels.
Also there was scandal with Princess Leia when the public found out she was daughter of Darth Vader this before she marry Han Solo.
4:07 listen that's an atrocity I'd gladly die to😂
I agree
I'm pretty sure the New Republic isn't 100% aware of Moff Gideon. The New Republic is flying through, trying to patrol the Outer Rim and scanning for Imperial ships. It also doesn't help their patrol doesn't even include a corvette, it's just two X-Wing patrols.
Moff Gideon, while apparently has a fleet, we've only seen an Arquintens and a Gozanti freighter. It's less noticeable than an Imperial 1 or 2.
This could literally be a thesis for a masters program in homeland security
New Republic’s Centrist Senators are too busy profiting First Order Weapons. Leia confirmed it in bloodlines and Resistance. Kazuda Xiono’s Dad is most likely funded First Order weapons too, which explains why he survived after Hosian Prime was destroyed if he doesn’t believe in the Resistance and Tierny manage to Have Kaz’s Service records. Wish it would been more explore in the Mandalorian. I appreciate Dave Filoni and crew put effort of Cohesive and Consistency.
Unlisted club, report in.
I wish The Mandalorian would just declare it exists in a different timeline as the new Trilogy.
Just make the new trilogy fucking Legends. They had no problem doing it to decades of quallity content they had nothing to do with.
@@SparseS17 Yes please, make the new trilogy non canon.
They can’t do that, but I think it’s HEAVILY implied.
Has more firepower than most 5BBY rebelion cells.
NoT A ThReT.
maybe Filoni and Fraveau will try to avenge the New Republic, make captain Teva bring a fleet to shoot down Gideon's ship, maybe even a Starhawk for fanservice.
Ok, now I'm hearing Dolphins.
"Incompetent and inefficient", wonder where that was inspired from.
I wonder if moff Gideon's cape actually provides thermal or kinetic protection like Mandos? Perhaps yall could make a video on the versatility of capes, cloaks and other accessories that a space farer would need?
All fabrics provide thermal and kinetic protection.
The NR leaders like Mothma wanted to go back to the galactic republic era which was frankly only good for planets inner rim to deep core, everyone else was ignored so for all we know the penta star alignment could be out there and the NR wouldn't do shit
When Thrawn arrives then we'll see how the New Republic force cops will fare against the Empire. The "good" side can lose too because that will bring the balance...
It's weird.
Sometimes Alan talks about real issues, and it makes me wonder if he's more liberal or conservative...I mean he seems like a nice dude that has a lot of ideas..
I guess that's the way it should be.
Just a nice dude, politely talking about real things for a couple of minutes without making a defenative statement.
"thigh related atrocities" this is my new favorite line.
If you ever need a case against total pacifism in Star Wars look at Mandalore under Duchess Satine. We all saw what Maul did and was able to take over with Deathwatch.
Wow... This is the first time I see one of your videos. I am a historian and I can say, the way you analyze and examine all the events, and ideas, even when it is a fictional world, is very good. It was a great explanation about the difficulties of rebuilding after war.
Moff Giddeons arquitens cruiser is just beautiful
Infer1or Hydra arquitens cruiser use by galactic Republic and galactic empire.
@@xxcaptninjaxx4301 ik kinda crazy how its still being used. I'm just glad we saw it in life action
@@admiralhydra519 it is crazy that of all the clone wars vehicles this was the only one that empire kept on using to its full
purpose (turbo tank was used for transportation)
if the Yuuzhan Vong war taught me anything, it's that politics are bad.
especially when you let someone with a grudge run your New Republic. like a certain Bonthan hairball by the name of Borsk Fey'lya.
permit not the alien to rule.
I have never wanted to be a stormtrooper until Allen presented me with the perfect way to die.
the history buff in me really likes how you can relate the real world to star wars so seemingly. good video
It seems the Generation Tech clone has finally destroyed Allen and replaced him
This is an amazing video. I loved how you relate (the show /cinematic universe) it to the real world and break it down in a way to understanding it from a realistic perspective. 💯🔥👍🏽
"Hello Welcome to Allen. My name is Generation Tech." lmao
"That's a joke"
-Mando
It's what 3-4 years after Endor? I'm sure it's going to take them years to stabilize it's control over any gains. Though we also don't know how the empire fractured maybe Gideon doesn't have control over what is deemed important systems and is a secondary importance.
They were too busy with giving speed tickets to people
Because *Disney*
Saved you eleven minutes
Gideon was already a war criminal.. He's execute on the spot still..
Btw he's probably a clone.. He was executed already
"Thigh related atrocities" 🤣🤣🤣 I love it
Maybe the new republic thinks oh yeah we got rid of the empire but we will take precaution and search the outer rim in case type s*** but this next episode is going to be a f****** amazing one
Just want to say that your a very good speaker. Your not boring and you have a good flow! Love your content! Keep up the good work!!!!
the problem i have with the newer disney era is how they rushed the end of the conflict, in the older legends stories the empire never totally goes away, so there is always a need for an armed force, plus there are other threats in the galaxy pirates warlords slavers ect. the pre empire republic didn't do a good job of providing security and dumping the problem on to local forces is a disaster waiting to happen, who knows how many shady politicians ware going to steal money and barely fund their forces or turn them into their own private armies, a decent sized military is needed if not only for policing in space but for other reasons, emergency evacuation like during the sun buster story line were they had to eva an entire solar system because it was going to be destroyed.
This is why new republic suck compare to galactic Republic during clone wars and prequel era.
It took 30 years but the New Republic paid dearly for not dealing with those guys properly or at least keeping an eye on them
I’ve been waiting for this video forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a better point then your theory of mando taking forever to get to tython.
If he is Generation tech does that mean we are Allen and if we are Allen does that mean Generation tech is all our names combined and does that mean we are generation tech and Allen doesn't exist anymore ?
Adam is one of my favourite sci fi UA-cam channels. Great job, Generation Tech!
Dug the casual Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter reference.
Hey generation tech, what was the backing music at around 4:40 Pl?
Quote of video : all of those thigh war crimes
thigh crimes and miss d meaner?
Hi welcome back to another episode of Allen my name is generation tech
According to the subtitles cara dune is an old Iranian
“My name is generation tech and your watching Alan”
Me: Huh I thought you said this was generation tech not Alan
The EU New Republic kept the army because they had the good sense to remember that trouble always comes back around to make more of itself. What will Mon Mothma do when an army of Force enhanced jetpack super troopers, a Chiss Ascendancy strategic mastermind, or a group of fanatics hollow out a planet to build a shotgun Death Star and start gobbling outlying Star Systems? Give them a stern talking to before being vaporized? Speak softly, carry a big stick, and when necessary use that stick to shatter plastoid armor like glass; you'll go much further than merely speaking softly.
this isn't problem of NR, it's problem of sequels fucking up world-building with ANH rehash, so you'd have to repeat failure of Old Republic in 30 years
Never leave a pacifist in charge have someone in between to lead thats why I suggest a mandalorian home protection fleet to guard our system from future attacks without reliance on this new republic
Agreed my brethren the balance of the force and nature itself is most...unbalanced.
New Republic reminds me of EU and NATO
And if you're watching this, you are Allen
