Are you excited to declutter for 10 minutes today, or do you need a kick in the bahookie or a "rah, rah, rah" from me?!👋🏼😄🎉 Remember our pact - I am here with 3 videos each week (guided decluttering, guided cleaning, our Minimalist Lifestyle "Plan with Me") and you comment on every video you watch. Let's declutter - TOGETHER!
Goodness Diane these video check-ins are so energizing -- you're saying LLAP before I know it! 😊🖖 Last time we were in this zone I did a big declutter, so today I just did a quick "maintenance survey" and drawer check, and did some of the WHB/power hour. Got rid of some old catalogs 😊. Made plans for the afternoon: clearing the hall closet. See you Wednesday ❤🥰
Great video as always😊
Yep, went through my shoes, got rid of many shoes. Now working through the closets again.
The same thing happened to shoes I was holding onto as well 😆 I loved Hans Christian Anderson stories when I was a kid! I found 12 books to declutter!
I get so excited to watch/work along with you! I’ve actually been cleaning on Monday and then decluttering on Wednesday. But that’s okay, right? 😁 I’m getting things moving and that’s what counts!
I unpacked a big box today. My kitchenradio was in it which I had packed away several years ago because I had no room to put it in the kitchen. The box ended up in another room. Now I am decluttering this little room step by step for 10 minutes. I knew exactly what was in that box. I didn't want to get rid of that Radio because Hubby gave it to me as a christmas gift years ago. So I decluttered a space in the livingroom for that Radio. Today I opened the box cleaned the Radio and put it in its new place. I turned it on and it gave me so much joy. I can't explain it. I am Happy all day because I have this Radio back. Thanks for motivating us to declutter every week.
Had a bit of a week last week 🤯 and my bedroom decluttering went out the window… or so I thought! 😉 A charity donations bag was due for collection from our street today + I thought I’d missed it, but I was on my way home from dropping my son to college + saw that they hadn’t been collected yet, so I dashed upstairs with the motivation of how much Diane can get decluttered in 10 mins + I filled the bag with 20 items of clothing I never thought I’d part with + got the bag outside for collection just in time! 🎉 Wohoo! 🎉 Thank you Diane for showing us what is possible even in 10 minutes! ⏱️😅🥰 ra ra ra! 🎉
What a motivating soul! Not feeling 100%. But ten mins is doable!
Wow, I (almost) saw you FLYING! 🧚🏼♀
Decluttering the family game shelf in the den. Who remembers the Monopoly game tokens that were a racing car, top hat, thimble, or cute little Scottie dog?!!
Yes, we still have that Monopoly set too. ❤
I love cycling through the zones to declutter. I feel less guilt if I decide to hold onto an item a little longer because I know I’ll be back in that zone in 4-5 weeks with a fresh set of eyes and a new perspective
I will go through my deceased husband`s music books. I am keeping only my music from when I took lessons a s kid. I am often amazed at what I played at ages 10 and 11 . I also kept his easy books . I want to again get into playing a little each day - maybe begin at 15 minutes and then 30 minutes, etc. I will give them to my friend at church who will give them to her grandson. (He is studying music.)
Woo hoo Diane! Love the new system of 3 videos a week. I'm really starting to understand the whole plan now and I look forward to seeing you each week. Thanks!
Brilliant, Amy - I LOVE hearing that!!!
Decluttering is ADDICTIVE! Had a quiet weekend. On Saturday I was searching for a specific pair of earrings ended up doing a declutter of my jewelry box. Sunday I was looking for a turquoise I eyeliner I wear in spring and summer. Ended up decluttering my makeup.
Today I'm watch while eating lunch. Then I'm reorganizing my cookbooks and gardening books. I like to do a Seasonal Shift. Time to highlight spring!
Did some of my whb this morning and worked alongside you just now. Thank you Diane. Looking forward to you getting to 100k
Had a moment of overwhelm when I got up this morning. Came to the kitchen had breakfast and there you were on you-tube reminding me ‘Just 10 minutes’ That’s my mantra today. Thank you Diane 😊
Thanks, Diane, for your motivation. I try to declutter something every day.❤
My husband kept a pair of “best shoes” for years. He finally decided to wear them to a friend’s wedding. He got the train up to Bristol for the wedding and as he was walking from the station to the registry office, the sole cracked and fell off one of the shoes!😂. Quick dash into the town to a shoe shop and he managed to buy a replacement pair in leather for £10!! He learned his lesson that day!! 😊
I love it!
I like how quickly you move through the task and make decisions without getting distracted.
I love watching you. There wasn’t much to declutter in the living room. So I decided to declutter my freezer in my fridge. 😀
You remind us that is an ongoing project . The clutter soon collects if we let it . Thank you these reminders .
Hi Diane! 🙂 Our daughter lives with us again. She got her old room back which would become my hobby room. But there was a lot of random stuff in there. So suddenly we are busy cleaning that up and making room for her belongings. For the time being, all our attention and energy is going to this job. So there is still a lot to declutter, but it will be fine. It's also nice that all those things are thrown away, donated or given their own place in our house.
See you on Wednesday! 😃 Live long and prosper. 🖖
Hi Diane, I am still a big fan. Yesterday I thought I would fix a rung of an old chair. I started preparing to do the job and asked myself: "How badly do I need or want this chair"? I decided I didn't want or need it at all. So I gathered the rung with the chair and put it in the car right away and kept going. I collected another 25 smallish items and put them in the car right away. I drove everything to the donation centre yesterday afternoon. I am beginning another give away box today. I find this to be a "life-giving" activity. Things can become kind of dead in a home. Some objects have no function or purpose or energy or they belong to a different place in time and that is probably when they need a new home so they can have some new experiences.
Thanks for your wonderful work. Suzanne
Decluttered the toy box while the grandchildren were out of the house. What a project!
I have been doing the Flylady system for some time so I don't always follow the same room that you are in, but I always get up and do something. I think that's the key. The one thing I love is the idea of doing the inside of the windows. It takes no time at all and when Spring window cleaning comes I only have to go do the outside ones. Thanks for all the help and motivation.
Declutterring and cleaning in short, focused sessions makes this much less overwhelming. Thanks Diane!!
I watched the video and then did 10mins declutter in the hallway and bookshelves whilst the dinner was cooking. 😊
I love the way you speak of your in-laws. It’s very sweet!
Morning and early afternoon spent with my 93 year old mother helping her declutter. Two bags of recycling put in the recycle bin. :)
Took quite a trip down memory lane as I decluttered greeting cards from an end table in the parlor. My habit has been to deposit cards, creating a huge stack which obscured the spot for my candelabra. As a result of glancing through those from husband and daughters, there is now a small basket of those I cherish and a big stack for recycling. Thanks!
I enjoy decluttering with you each Monday, looking forward to cleaning Wednesday too! 🎉🎉🎉
I have always admired your DDFIL chest of drawers. Never ceases to amaze me as to what we grow out of. Things serve us for a season and then it's over... time to move on. Yet those items were the objects of our eyes at one point. UT is comforting to have it modeled to me. Helps me to get on with it. Thanks again.
I spotted ‘the princess bride’ in your dvds. That would be a keep for me- absolute classic! 🙂
A corner of our kitchen counter was decluttered of a pile of papers . It looks so much better and never takes as long as I think it will! Thank you for the motivation Diane 😊
I am always so inspired by your videos, Diane! Like many others, I do love watching them first while relaxing, and then again as I work along with you. Today, I was actually in the kitchen decluttering a shelf in a large cabinet, which indeed included linens. I managed to recycle several things, and absolutely had to dust the shelf! You are sooo right when you say that even if you think you’ve decluttered a certain area, you can always find something else when you come around again! And it’s always a good feeling; I especially like the “give away” so that someone else can enjoy! ❤
I worked along with you in the living room today, Diane. I decluttered a small drawer that holds some clothes I can quick-change into when I come home from a rainy walk and don’t want to drip my way upstairs. Moved one shirt into the donation bag and noted two Ts for probation. (We hope the rainy season is about to end!) Then I put together a small flat-pack unit to tuck into a corner of the hearth, where I will “contain” the remaining CDs and DVDs when I complete the media culling project. This steady approach is really working for me - thank you!
‘Fair do’s to you’ made me laugh as still a Scottish lassie at heart.
A very good friend of mine died a few weeks ago and I am helping his family go through the house. I wish he could’ve enjoyed being rid of the excess, but he didn’t want to deal with it. I understand, and it’s OK. I am glad to be able to help him out now, even though he is gone.
Thank you for demonstrating that decluttering a single drawer is not 'lame'. Recently I've decluttered 2 kitchen shelves, my night table drawer, and the floor of my bedroom closet - each on separate days. I got rid of 15 pairs of shoes that I knew I'd never wear. And I'm looking ahead to 2 more kitchen shelves when the kitchen zone cycles back. Each time I finish a decluttering I still have time to do other things, which is encouraging me to keep it up.
Thanks Diane a very productive 10 mins of decluttering❤ Begone -> a candle votive, 4 small plant pots, a poncho and a raincoat - hall closet tidied up too - bonus!!!
Decluttered my pantry while I watched your video. Thanks, Diane!
Thank you for doing these decluttering sessions. I shop at thrift stores for my clothing because I can find 100% natural fibres not mixed with polyester. The problem is that I pick up items, thinking, I can take this in or I can fix this. I have so many clothes now that I need to get rid of things. I didn't know where to start and was overwhelmed. You inspired me to know my colors, and know what I like. This makes it easier to decide what to fix, keep or declutter. I don't really want to make a mistake since I am still exploring what colors look good on me. Your probation idea is great! I can put them on probation for a while and work with fewer items. Thanks again!
I decluttered the drawers in our coffee table, while watching your video today, and found two items to put away. Now I have the ‘bug’ to keep going. Your 10 minute declutter really works. 😊
Decluttering and cleaning seems so do-able when I watch your videos. Otherwise I feel overwhelmed and I procrastinate. You take the stress out of it and make it seem simple and I can work alongside you and make progress! Thx for the consistent videos!!
Hi Diane! It seems I am a Tuesday watcher: I have a Monday routine that keeps me busy, so here I am a day later- still able to be inspired to do a 10 minute declutter, get off my bahookie and like/comment on your posts. 🎉🎉🎉
Excited to start decluttering today. I worked on 2 containers of exercise books and equipment. Got it down to one and found exercise clothes to go on probation. I will try them on...but they probably won't fit. Found two pairs of socks which save me from buying more. Also stirred up some dust. Another useful video Diane.
Thank you, Dianne. I have decluttered a garbage bag sized hoard this weekend already, and am steadily getting through the rest of our home, 15 minutes at a time
I already have my WHB done! Each week I’m getting faster and beating the timer! Thanks for your encouragement, Diane!
I decluttered and threw out a huge bag of items from my kitchen. My mind and heart are happy and relieved. Now I'll have to use the 'one in, one out' strategy so I don't become overwhelmed again. Thank you for helping me! Hugs...
You're rubbing off on me! I have been decluttering daily, a little at a time. Today was old organizers that were moved into my bedroom when my mom moved in 6 months ago. Emptied them, threw a bunch of stuff away, and put the rest away. Easy peasy! Thanks so much!
Thanks to you, I declutter my entire collection of Patricia Cornwell books. I’ve had them for years and never went back and read them. There were 23 books most of which were hardbacks which took up tons of space. I gave them to a friend that devours books. Thanks for the inspiration!!! I never would have done that without you. 😊
My first time commenting but I have to tell you how much you are helping and motivating me 🎉
Cleaned the living room with you today. Found a tired dog toy to discard. Love the 10 minutes a day. Thank you Diane!
Dear Diane, our living-room is pretty decluttered already, but I did finish an open project from our Master Bedroom week. I am very happy and proud to say that the space under our bed is now fully empty - it is soooo easy to clean now! i love it. Thank you for your continuous support and motivation :)
Needed the kick in the bahookie today. Thanks for the tough love ❤
I've only lived in my new house for 3 1/2 years, but the clutter is accumulating! Today I decluttered and cleaned a small bookcase near my kitchen. I had a lot to throw away, some to put away in other areas of the house, and a few things to give away. Thanks for the motivation!
If I EVER get my house fully under control, it will be thanks to you and Steph, The Secret Slob!!! Love your videos!!
Entryway decluttered, mission accomplished. Moving on to evening relaxation
I did my three junk drawers... they've NEVER been fly lady-ed. It was like a trip back in time to the mess I used to live in. I now only have 3 storage boxes in my garage that have never been done. Thanks Diane!!!
It's amazing how much I can get done in 10 minutes.
It really is, Ginger!
Going through my stacks and baskets of stuff under my coffee table 😮
I have a big basket under mine too...that is what I am looking at today. In a minute. Or two. After this cup of tea.
Thank you so much for supporting my journey to declutter my apartment.
Thank you!! 10 minutes wasn’t long enough today. But was long enough to get something done!!
So much clutter!
Appreciate you SO much! ❤
I had major surgery last year and my figure changed quite a bit. My underwear drawer was crammed full with old stuff and new stuff. Used the 10” to go through all of it and wow what a difference. Now I can find what I want when I want it. Thank you Diane for your enthusiasm and positivity! I think of you as my UA-cam bestie!
I decluttered my linen cupboard for 10 mins today. It was great it needed doing and I have things I can donate which is even better 😊
Loving these 3 videos per week. Very structured and simple just what we all need. 🇩🇰❤️
Yesterday, I cleaned out the cabinet under my sink. Decluttered, cleaned and organized what was left. Feels good! I thought about it longer than it took to actually do it!
I am finally starting to catch up after being sick last week. The one thing I like about the flylady system is that even when I am feeling under the weather, I still have my morning routine (lol, unload the dishwasher, etc) done every day. It is an unconscious habit. 😊
Thank you for your ever positive nature in helping all of us live our best life.
Love the table cloth with the hearts ❤❤❤
Yes, I do too. Glad she kept it.
“I have enough” you said many times. YES! This is my mantra for this year! I have enough!
👏👏👏😍
KaDee from Seattle,
Decluttering in zone 5, it has a large Buffet where I also keep all my linens an puzzles. Declutter 5 puzzles an kept only 1
(Peter Rabbit in the garden) So I'll have fun putting it together on the island in my kitchen.
It will look cozy with all my other Easter decor when finished. 😊
Thank-you for sharing your box idea for storaging things. Love it.
Have a great day.
🎉Rah, Rah, Rah.
KaDee
I didn’t think I would find anything today but I managed to declutter quite a big pile of books. I’m sure it’s the house elves bringing in clutter during the night without me noticing! 😂
Getting into the habit of doing my daily chores around the house and decluttering stuff
Diane,
Thanks once again for your motivation and inspiration!! You are a gem!!
I'm moving along slowly but surely!!
I decluttered a pair of shoes, some CDs, and a few other little things. And then I got distracted when I saw it was snowing. It turned to rain so it didn't stick. But the large flakes were so pretty to see! ❄Now I will get back to decluttering. Must focus. Thank you for the motivation! 🙂
I'm still in the middle of reorganizing the former childrens rooms and thanks to your motivation I keep going. Thank you Diane!
Thank you for making decluttering simple and doable Diane ❤
Decluttered my bookshelves in the living room, recycling some old garden books that I never refer to anymore. So nice to get everything dusted and replaced and now I have more breathing room on my shelves.
A large pile of Styrofoam from my crawl space kept for years "just in case" taken to the recycling centre, along with dead batteries and glass jars. Here this kind of recycling is not picked up in the weekly curbside recycling collection but is accepted at a nearby centre. Thanks for your regular three times a week you tubes!
Thank you so much Diane 🎉. Your beautiful smile and joyful personality was something I desperately needed today. Now, lets see if I can get my bahookie into a standing position. Take care.
Actually I love the red checked tablecloth - it looks like it would be perfect for outdoors on a picnic table! I have one similar which is red checked fabric but complete with printed picnic supplies such as mustard, ketchup, and, of course, ants!! Therefore, not always a big hit with everyone!!
Today I'm working in the little drawers in my secretary. It seems odds and ends get stashed there so took some things to their homes and some went into the trash. A win for me! Thanks Diane! See you Wednesday!
Weekly home blessing, then it's time to watch your video. 🎉
Happy Monday, Diane! When my mom died in June, my husband & I "inherited" three 10x20 ft storage units my parents had for 40+ years - PACKED floor to ceiling. We've just begun emptying them & your videos are keeping us encouraged as we tackle this massive job, a little bit every day. They had some good stuff, so the process is slow as we try to figure out how to liquidate everything. Unfortunately, tons of boxes have temporarily ended up in our garage as we organize & sort through them, but we've been taking weekly carloads to the donation center. Thank you! 🙂
Rah rah rah!🎉 I cleared out some tablecloths, reorganized my linens, and emptied a whole drawer for other things. Yay! Thank you so much, Diane! ❤
Hello Diane and everybody else watching these lovely videos 🥰!
I’m on a “going minimalist” journey this year. Already declutterred quite a lot. Ow it’s time for my display cabinet. I DON’T need two types of wineglasses! Therefore I’m donating my white wine ones. It’s a good feeling getting rid of things.
Love from Helena in Sweden 🌸
Down with Covid. But I will declutter my tablecloths as soon as I am feeling human again. I have lots of tapestry style tablecloths from Iran I don’t really use; but a friend of mine can make lovely shopping bags out of them.
❤
I also had a bit of a week last week but I followed along a day or so late and finally decluttered my dressing table drawers purring 2 empty perfume bottles into recycle. Next, I went through all my jewellery giving a number of pieces to donation and just generally organizing the rest. I managed to declutter my scarf drawer and quite a few went ro donation. Thanks, Diane for keeping me on track.
I decluttered a lid to an old water cup. I didn't realize I still had it. It's fun to find little treasures like that - easy things to declutter. :)
My living room looks great, nothing to declutter. So i decluttered an upright freezer and stacked 10 frozen meals on a shelf.❤
You are a STAR! Looking forward to the day I have a room with nothing to declutter!
@@thatswhatisaid8908 It has taken me quite a while to get to this point!
Good morning. Thank you for the inspiration. I decluttered the drawer with games. Made sure the playing cards were compete again. Mismatches and broken games were thrown away or recycled. ✅ selfcare mission saying NO.
Can't wait for the Wednesday to come an clean together. Have a lovely day you all.
Hello Diane, I decluttered a corner of the living for 10 minutes that had become a catch all. I worked on a project over the weekend and moved things into the living to give me space to work in the bedroom. So today I put everything back to where it belongs. Esther in California
I declutterred old videos, dvd’s and cd’s from Zone 5. Had a bad week last week, no motivation but back on track now woohoo 🙌
I've eventually finished my decorating and major declutter of all rooms. Now to follow along each week and keep on top the clutter A huge incentive for me is now i find it so easy to pupa as things have a home and i know where things belong ❤
When I get home I will declutter my tablecloths - I haven’t looked at them in a while
I have decluttered cookie cutters and candle holders I never use anymore! Thanks for doing this I get rid of stuff weekly with your videos!
Hello Diane! I have been watching the videos first, and then doing a declutter second. I enjoyed watching you going through the tablecloths and napkins in your drawers. It was fun looking at your family linens. So, I started on my bottom row chest and went thru some of my favorites. My husband walked by and asked me what I was doing?. I said, "I'm decluttering the table cloths for 10 min." Here started going thru the autumn runners for our table and he folded everything for me and put them back in the drawers. We finished three drawers in 10 min Then he went out to work in the garage and told me to rest for 10min.I took out packs of red dinner napkins and oriental paper napkins that I forgot we had for over a year. Thanks for this great format.
Okay, I listen to you while driving in the car, so I'm gonna have to do my declaration when I get Home.
I watched your video while on my exercise bike. Now I am off to work on my bookcases. Thank you, Diane!🦋
Went through my little table and basket in my lanai and found 6 items to declutter. Of course I prefaced the decluttering with “I won’t find anything to get rid of here!”!!😂😂😂
Hello Diane, we decluttered some toys and some other little things in good shape and gaved them to a carity organisation in our village. I'm happy for a little less to organize and some kids are happy. Thanks for your weekly motivation. I follow you for a quite a long time. I don't know how many years ( 5 or 6 time flies). And you are a helping sunshine my dear. And if I watch your videos and comment I'm developing my english skills. That's a lot of fun.
I was so proud of myself, I decluttered and took it to the charity store
Cleared the bedroom floor again, cleared a full shelf in the bookcase and hung a bunch of frames! Took more than 10 minutes but the first 10 inspired us!
Hi Diane. I’m a little down today but I am motivated to do my declutter. Just finished watching and will rewatch and work with you after Hubby and I walk the Dog. Maybe the fresh air will help me feel better.💐
❤
Thanks Diane, I found a new home for my big family table and I am using the smaller table from the beginning of my homemaking. Time to review all those gorgeous tablecloths I have collected over the years. Thanks again for the incentive.
Batch baking today and you’re keeping me company while I bring calm to the chaos! Thank you!
IKEA fabric is first class.
Thanks Diane your smile makes Monday better 😊
