I first heard this tune at age 10 ( in the good old days when a record shop would would play You a track) as My older brother bought Hot Rats, later that day He had a motorcycle accident which put him in hospital for six weeks, when He came home the disk was crackling and I knew all the words to Willie the Pimp ( though didn't understand them !!) this tune changed My life and gave Me a lifelong love of music, thanks Dweezel for keeping it alive.
She's still with 'em. I only saw Frank once back in '76 but the first time I saw these guys, they were good enough to bring out memories I didn't even know I had!
Well done! I filled in for Tom Fowler on bass back around 74 when he broke his finger on tour. I was known as Birdlegs back then. You do your Dad proud buddy! The group sounds really good.
There is a video on youtube from Norm's Rare Guitars in NYC where Dweez gives it's backstory. It was one of JH's strats that had been burned; it was given to FZ in the 60s by Jimmi's roadie. FZ restored it and recorded with it and held it on the cover of Guitar Player in 1971.
16,475 views, and 0 dislikes. Fuck yes. This is music that can save your mind and heart. (I would say soul, but that would be disrespectful to Frank's memory :)
@muffinman72326 You're both right, Jimi gave the burned guitar to Frank who put on the upside down neck and got it playable then used it for many years. When Frank stopped playing it was stored in his house where it remained until a few years ago when Dweezil took it out of storage. He also had to do some work on it to bring it back after its long sleep.
This is so freakin' awesome. Dad would be proud!
She is a BADASS

No, it's Pete Griffin on bass!
She's still with 'em. I only saw Frank once back in '76 but the first time I saw these guys, they were good enough to bring out memories I didn't even know I had!
That, my friends, is called nailing it!
Great job! This is my favorite Frank Zappa song.
I hope someday in the year 2100 some youngster with a guitar is saying "This is a song my great great grandfather Frank wrote."

You can't get better than peaches on regalia!.
Daddy's version
This is my all-time favorite Zappa track. Good to hear it again!
Okay listen drowning witch or King Kong average awesome too thanks Frank bring all this up
the 69 live version in Sweden (KK) is awesome here.
What a fine version, brilliantly played...
that guitar he is playing used to be jimi hendrix's
Well, at the very least, it's a left-handed neck...!

@@jeremybean-hodges6397 the neck isn’t original. He got a reverse neck to keep it authentic to how Frank had it.
Playing the Strat formerly owned by Jimi Hendrix.
Priceless!!
Mia Mcfarland I wouldn't recommend putting very personal details about yourself with a phone number in the comments section of YT, just a suggestion.
Sheila Gonzalez
AND SHE IS AWESOME!
That woman playing the sax makes this band.....

MASTERPIECE. THANKS FRANK. FOREVER.
Spent a good chunk of tonight listening to every version of "Peaches" I could find.
Nice to hear a 'stripped-down' version done by only 6 players. ~~
This is actually a LOVELY version!
One tight performance!
Still one of the best Peaches ever, second only to the original.
Incredible!
Was frank even a human, this is incredible
love the left handed neck strung backwards on the right handed guitar, classy
amazing band....this woman is unbelieveble!! she's an alien!!
2:05 - 2:12 live and crisp AF...

That was my reaction to this video too!
Dweezil really has put in the time to become a first class musician. This is quite a complex piece. Well done.
Sorry he was already first class 25 years ago just underrated or not heard Amen
Of course his born in direct line from Frank
awesome job Dweezil!
good job ..i love it :)
I have a real poncho. . . very real
Bull-pizzles...It's a Sears poncho and you know it!
I rate it a 10 out of 10
America got talent
WHOAH
flawless performance.
has Dweezil ever wrote his own music? His playing was top notch in this.
He released 2 or 3 albums pre ZPZ.
Well, ever seen anyone, who comes close to Frank? I like this version, it has some fresh approach in FZ-spirit.
And Pete Griffin simply rocks!
that last chord was rather tasty!
alright...thanks!
unico
Dweezil had to re-learn how to play guitar, when he started playing Frank's stuff. Good he did.
frank made a good son
Scheila! SCHEEEEIIIIILLLAAAAAAAA!
@doohdoohhead That tech would be Lemmy from Motörhead
Is Dweezil tuned a 5th up?
That isn't a baritone guitar.. right?
That is Jamie Kime, not Steve Vai.
Can anyone tell me who is in this line-up? Is that Steve Vai with the gray hairdo?
iv seen dweez for the last 10 yrz and he is not faking it sheila is awsum at the birchmer alex va this is rev tim tellon u the truth
Is that Frank's Guitar?
@muffinman72326 When someone from a band gets near me, I just.... tsssssst.... I just.... ooh!
@muffinman72326 at first Zappa refurbished it then it broke and Frank then refurbished it
L O V E - Z P Z!
Jimmi Hendrix's guitars , play dweezil Zappa
No footage of the keyboardist? Fuck.
who's the girl playin the sax?
Errr... they are nice...perhaps too nice. ZPZ just lacks Frank's scowl and eyebrows.
When i clicked on to this the host of the show is the last guy i wanted to see or hear..
Well you're missing out. Craig Ferguson was easily one of the best hosts ever on American television.
No ma demoro a madre
LOLOLO "EPIC HIT"?!???!??!??! you HAVE to be kidding. He got very little air-play.
omg is that girl playing her pants wet!
Fucking wind instruments.
Spit valves have always grossed me out.
flute and guitar is like secks.
Anyone find the soul in the studio after this crap?
Never seen a whole band faking it.. well.. good job for keeping his head down while pretending to play, his dad won't be proud of this I think..
what are you talking about?
so you're suggesting they were playing to a recorded track?
Pretending to play? 😑
Dweez looks pretty bored
I don't think Dweezil looks bored... I think he is just a very reserved type of personality... and humble... remember he has really big boots to fill!
J Long I agree.
They are really only a covers band tho .... and they totally sound like one. He has no groove.
First 20 seconds of this clip - could he BE more annoying?
amazing
