My son came over the other night and walked into my usual sound of Waylon music. He said "Mom, I've heard it said and I tend to believe it, there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of other singers out there." I just said "Yes, I know, but not ONE of them has the kind of voice that soothes away whatever woes or wrinkles that might be happening in my day." So he just sat and listened to a few with me. (And he does know that he is to play Waylon's Precious Memories at my funeral.) Waylon IS part of my every day, and has gotten me thru some pretty serious woes and wrinkles. During a recent surgical procedure, they even put his music on for me in OR. How much better could it get??
Waylon recorded this song in October 1986 and it's first release was on his 1986 "The Best of Waylon" compilation album. It was never released as a single but it's very comparable to Hank Jr's and Merle's versions.

20 years ago today this magnificent voice was stilled. Spending the day listening to and appreciating his music. So many wonderful songs.
