That's really above and beyond in my opinion Joe on the care you take for the customers queens. This video definitely shows how much extra care you take for the customer.
Joe that was one heck of a video, I learnt a ton. God Bless you for your honest videos and explaining how things are done in your yard. That was really cool. Thankyou again.
So neat to watch you get my queens ready for shipment. I went to the post office today and they said they would call me as soon as the queens arrive (Wed). Evidently I'm not the only beekeeper getting bees from my post office, which I take as a good sign. Thanks again Joe for another great video.
I'm JAMES FROM JACKSBORO TN I AM BUYING EQUIPMENT AND HOPE TO START WITH BEES THIS COMING YEAR. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS VIDEO AND THE TIME AND CARE YOU PUT INTO PASSING A GREAT PRODUCT. I AM WATCHING YOUR VIDEO SERIES FROM THE BEGINNING NOW. MY BEE GO TO'S ARE LITTLE BIT, WALLS BEE MAN, KAMON REYNOLDS , AND BARNYARD BEES. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR CHANNEL!
I found your channel last week. Thanks for all your great info. I've gone through your intermediate series from last year. I thought $140 for a 3lb package was pretty high but after week 12 your price from those splits was down to down to $90 if you factor in the $40 for mated queens . I'll see what you ended up with by the end of the year. Thanks again.
you can but I don't it cost so much to ship to Canada that most people won't do it. I have to fill out a bunch of paper work a vet has to come to me and inspect them no longer that 3 days before I ship and there is a border tax of $100 for one queen or a 100.
Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge and wisdom. I have learned so much from you. Do you still have queens available? Also I have 2 queens in my Russian Hive and wondering how long can the second queen stay? It has been over a month now and both are laying. I don't want to mess with them if they can work it out.
Yep I figured it was not that simple. Hope I brighten you a smile. Appreciate all your videos and you always willing to help and answer questions Phillip Hall
lot of factor one where you live two how strong a split you make, feeding or not feeding. Now for you if you make a split with bees covering 5 frames you should be all right. They won't start making winter bees until sept. I would put in a mated queen to late for walk away split it will be 28 days before she would be laying good and that's if everything works right.
@@LittleBitsHoneyBeesjoemay Joe, I believe I'll wait until spring and get 2 or 3 VSH Carniolian from you when I do my spring splits. I have 3 strong Carnilians that I got from Strachans this spring. I think I saw that you may have them by late May. I got cells from a friend in Cape Girardo, Mo. He was a 3 hour drive so I'm guessing you are a 4 or 5 hour drive so mated makes more sense for me. To old of eyes for me to graft.
I live in Mississippi would the heat affect a northern queens performance I have two sasqatraz and one hybrid golden from singing springs apiary I’m striving for a all VSH bee yard have 16 hives wanna raise queens next year .
Hello I have two saskatraz I’ve had one for three weeks in a nuc laying good the other queen same set up what could be wrong . Also why should you not make queens off your saskatraz queens . How do you order queens from you .
It could be lots of thing, some queens don't ship well I have seen them take 3 or 4 weeks to start laying. She might have been a virgin. They might have a heavy mite load or small hive beetles. I don't know any reason why you can't raise queen out of the saskatraz. You can order queens from me at littlebitshoneybees.com. I am as done for the year, next year I will only be selling little bits queens. They are a breeding program I have been working on for three years.
That is the case with any open mated queen. When you start out with a II pure breed queen then you raise F1 daughters off her to open mate. They will be hybrids which are usually better than their mother.
I bought 2 my self, it's been 1 week they were released and no eggs yet. They were in the cage in my care for 4 days before I could release them. They came from a apiary 30 miles away that received them 2 days before I got them. I dont know how long they were in the cage before that but they are still alive and I noticed they have larger abdomens than they hed when I released them. Make sure you have a pattie on them and Sugar water. Good luck Bro.
Warren's life. Thanks That’s was the problem with mine had to let her sit out a couple of days before I could get her in I did put another frame of honey plus dumped more nurse bees in I hope she makes it.
Very knowledgeable beekeeper with huge experience

I feel fortunate to only have to drive 2 hours to get those good queens from you, Joe. My little Buckfast girl is doing fine.

Great video Joe. Thanks for sharing.
I can personally attest to the fact that the water tubes work , took six days for a three day shipment to arrive and all survived and doing great
Where do you get the water tubes from?
@@bonnie5293 He 3d prints them.
How nice to watch you do this. I've been mulling it over in my head how to ship queens (when that time comes). I like the way you think, Joe! Thanks.
Those water tubes are brilliant!

Nicely done. Thanks for sharing your technique.
That was wonderful and fun! I love your system.
I enjoyed the video Joe. It sounded as though there was an old steam locomotive in the background.😁
Thanks ya, 4 years since you made this
I’d love to see a video that explains the difference between the breeds of bees you sell.
Great video
Thank you so much Joe! I needed this information very much!
Learned a lot! Thank you Joe
Do you have any more queens left Joe ?
Nice bro ! 👍
Thank you Joe once again for sharing your outstanding knowledge my friend. Question, do you ship to Canada or is that even allowed? Thanks again.

I agree with M. MASSEY the break down on breds would be a good video

Thanks for letting us sit in with you Joe if you AI the queens you should get 100 percent return 😁 J/K
If it was that simple..... Phillip Hall
yes that is right but way to much work and time to ai all queens.
That's why ai queen start at $300 and go to $1500

Thanks for sharing this. Do you insure them, and has USPS ever paid to replace them if DOA?
They have and have not.
Has the post office ever given you any problems shipping queens in the flat rate priority boxes?
No but I have found out it's better not to tell them that there are queens in the boxes no marking or any thing
What do you think about making splits this late? Should I wait until spring? I live just west of St Louis off I 70.

Good video! How did you make the water tubes or are these something you purchased?
I 3D printed them.
Any chance you sell them on your website?
@@katib9832 No I don't sell any equipment because of sales tax.
Any chance you’d sell a digital plan to 3D print my own? No sales tax there right?
Nice video Joe, I don't know how anybody could give a thumbs down! World's full of idiots. I'm curious as to where you get the corks for the cages.
I buy a sheet of cork 1/4 inch thick at the hardware store and punch them out.

I see pollen going in the sasqatraz she’s been in two weeks finally laying I think imma check today .
Do you need to supply them with the water?
most people don't I put water in all my queen cages.
Where are you getting your screen material from Joe?
I take it off 3# packages it's the right size 10 squares per inch.
Where are these queens kept after insemination and before shipping ?
These queens are open mated, I pull them out of a hive the day before I ship.
How about queen Cells?
I know a little about shipping queen cells but I don't ship them it's more trouble than it's worth.
What payment methods do you accept?
