For those who struggle with "unfasten" and "unlock" "Unlock" is used when there is a lock or passcode: I unlocked my phone or I unlocked my car. "Unfasten" is used when you are just undoing something: I unfastened my seatbelt, I unfastened the latch. Hope this helped (:

I am an eighth grade student. ( a or an is based on how the word that follows it is pronounced with a consonant or a vowel sound, not on the initial letter of the word. Ex. A university - pronounced "(y)university" An honor - h is not pronounced so, an "(h)onor. A (s)econd grade student . S is a consonant. An (e)ighth grade student. E is a vowel.
If you can write an essay/story in English without having to second-guess yourself, then you're a shoo-in for an Englishman. Note that American/British English has informal words called slang. But it's not important if you only need formal English.

I am an eighth grade student. ( a or an is based on how the word that follows it is pronounced with a consonant or a vowel sound, not on the initial letter of the word. Ex. A university - pronounced "(y)university"
An honor - h is not pronounced so, an "(h)onor.
A (s)econd grade student . S is a consonant.
An (e)ighth grade student. E is a vowel.

If you can write an essay/story in English without having to second-guess yourself, then you're a shoo-in for an Englishman. Note that American/British English has informal words called slang. But it's not important if you only need formal English.
