I just realized something weird about the M4 CS sold in Germany. The Strut brace, driving assistant, automated tailgate, and heated steering wheel are all optional extras that we get over here in Canada and I presume the USA as standard.
I think it has to do with the speed limit. Think about it this way: here in Germany, if you switch lanes, YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST monitor the traffic besides (and more importantly) behind you because, more often than not, someone will come blastring trough with 250-300 km/h (155 - 185 miles an hour) and it's in your best interest to not get caught up in that kind of accident. When driving in countries with a speed limit, I see others switching lanes much more inattentively because everyone's (basically) going the same speed. Caught myself doing it as well after a while. So, in a weird way, I think the lack of a speed limit prevents a lot of accidents. If they do happen, though, they're more likely to be fatal.
An amazing car! The body rigidity is high, the stability at high speeds is incredible, and the power is outstanding. This car might rival the Porsche GT3.🏁
The steering is way different than my g87… if I turned my wheel back and forth like you did at the end of the video I would’ve flew right off the road lol.
Save yourself the money. Get a 2022 XDrive and change out the front wheel hubs for CS hubs. Make suspension tweaks as necessary. Intake, Dp, n tune . Load up all CS driving parameters to the car. Put better rubber on it. BAM!! You’ll be in for $80k with a 750AWHP monster vs $140k for this.
On German-Sachsenring this "baby"-blue middle classed Top M4 CS as here showed; catched the Round-Time from the much expensiv and smaller Series-Street-Sport-Cars...Porsche 992 Turbo S and McLaren 765 .
It seems quite absurd that BMW is removing features like Active Cruise Control (ACC), especially on cars in this price range. ACC has nothing to do with performance or added weight, and even track-focused cars like the Cupra or RS3, which are designed as true "track weapons," come with ACC as standard. Why would BMW remove such a practical feature? It makes no sense, especially considering the high cost of these vehicles.
My take why carbon-ceramic breaks are not standard on M4 CS and should not be standard on any model. Carbon-ceramic discs are virtually eternal, but if a road pebble gets in between the breaking pads and the disc, you must throw that disc in a bin, where replacement costs 4000€. So, good luck driving your car with such breaks on a winter road, which was intentionally sprayed with gravel and salt. M-performance steel breaks will not overheat, but they will wear out. But a pair of discs cost 1000€ to replace. As I have been told by the people who track their cars quite often, you would need carbon-ceramic breaks only if you go on track every second week or more often.
BMW knows 99.99% of the people who buy these are not taking them to the track. So X drive makes more sense since it allows more practicality as far as bing able to drive the car year round and in wet conditions.
So in Europe, the yellow DRLs are yellow as parking lights? This goes completely against ECE laws as it clearly states parking lights in the front must be "white". Its not accepted by any European country to aftermarket yellow parking lights, but these cars can just hide behind being "type approved" for it, seems like car manufacturers can just give some money under the table for high ranking people in the EU and everything is fine and approved. Its the same with supercars, theyre exempt from the 74dB exhaust noise laws judging from how loud they are compared to other sports cars.
Front position/park lights are allowed to be of halogenic yellow hue. My Golf 6 had such positional lights, while daylight lights were standard halogenic, also with a faded yellow hue, compared to modern LED headlights. These daylight yellow lights on M4 CS should not be the same colour as yellow front blinkers.
I don't promote stupid decisions and a power trunk ( on a lid lol, not even a touring ) without cup holders is dumb. I hope it's just an option that you can put in but the cs should be a predefined spec focused on competition spec.
