Handsome guy in the thumbnail! 😂 Was great shooting with you, and as always, it’s great to see you demonstrate what you teach and prove that it works very well! Kudos on the win!
Excellent coverage and those were some hellish positions to make shots from for rifle. Especially for tall people like you. Have to agree, that looked like a fun and challenging shoot. Beautiful location.
It was a pleasure meeting you as well. This one didn’t have as much footage but still got the point across. Thank you again and thanks for watching the channel. 👍🏼
Awesome stuff !! Congratulations !! 👏👏 I really wish you would do more on the 6MAX and 6ARC. I'm very interested in both and will have both very soon. In gas gun. But it would be great to see you shooting both and getting a great comparison between them on velocities and drop at all distances, obviously, with similar bullet weights and barrel lengths. Maybe even do some handloaded ammo. Something else I'm curious about is if people can come watch the competitions in a wheelchair or electric chair? Will we be able to see good? Normal questions like that.
Congratulations and good job on the match. I need to find out if they're any clubs in the area that have smaller local shoots! I'm not going to win any large matches just would like to learn and have some fun shooting on a course to improve my skills.
Great shooting, great footage! Question, at the end of the video you stated that you were wanting to run 5.56 but there were issues that resulted in you running 6mm max. What was your reasoning for wanting to run 5.56 over 6mm Max? Are there clear advantages of 5.56 over 6mm max?
Hi Ray, would you be open to sharing what bullet you are shooting in the 6 max cartridge? Just starting my journey. Coming from a motorsports background, I am trying to learn as much as a can.
🏆 congrats Ray I’m a big fan of that 6mm Max. Did you shoot 103’s? Shoutout to Brian for making one heck of a round. Ray your mk18 6mm MAX video started it all for me and have enjoyed the x-ring content. Safe travels.
@j.r.d7230 Thank you! Unfortunately, I have not really tried anything other than the 90gr Lapua. Seems to work well enough for me. I do plan on trying the heavier bullets one day. 👍🏼
It was a tough match. Ironically, I didn’t train at all other than confirm my zeroes on the rifle. I haven’t been competing that much for the last year. Thank you for watching.
What are you doing in the middle east? Did I hear that right? Edit: Alright, watching this content has convinced me to piece together either a 6max or a 6arc ar15. This looks like so much fun.
Just doing some stuff…. These matches are a blast and more than likely, if you are anywhere in the eastern part of the U.S. the matches are quite abundant. 👍🏼
@ that is merely aesthetics for Microtech. It has just been a long standing tradition for them. The holes are not necessary and not on all blade configurations.
I have a quick question for anyone that is an experienced shooter, preferably long distance when calculations have to be exact. I just bought a kestrel 5700 elite and I have a MOA reticle and 1/4 MOA adjustments. And when I put in my Muzzle velocity and all the weather and wind it is telling me dial 5.12 MOA. What is getting me is that .12 able to round up to .25 or would you just dial 5 minutes. Basically I want to start using True MOA and I'm getting stumped on this. Any help would be beneficial thanks.
Great question but don’t be too concerned with it. Just choose whatever you like. Meaning either round up or down. The kestrel is only a tool and you will have to decide. Just like MRaD shooters when it says .85 and you have to pick .8 or .9. 👍🏼
Nice shooting Ray! I have a question. What range do you sight in your precision .22LR at? Just setting up one and there are answers all over the Internet, so I'm asking someone that actually knows! Hope all is well with you and your family! Thanks in advance.
@ you get what you pay for. I’m looking for a duel hunting/target spotter with a reticle and there aren’t that many options with alpha glass. I’ll have to try one.
Good afternoon Ray…subscriber here from Ft. Inn (Greenville) Sc. I Have a few questions I would like to pick your Brain about. Thinking about joining the Clinton House because it’s about 25 minutes from my house. Just getting into LR and there is so much information and opinions out there. Was hoping I could get some direction if your ever available. Was wondering if you had a email that you have for non personal use for inquiries like mine?
Not trying to be a dick, just some audience feedback: Match videos without a triggercam are about as exciting as televised golf and watching grass grow. If possible that would make videos like this much more enjoyable and involved.
I know. I have one but don’t like the lack of eye relief by using them. If I weren’t trying to place high in the rankings it wouldn’t be a big deal. Just something else I would need to worry about. 👍🏼

Fantastic job 👏 👍
Just brilliant marksmanship and a pleasure to watch and follow. Never had a boring video from Ray yet.

Great to meet you out there Ray. I needed this video to study with the others before the match though lol!
It was a pleasure meeting you as well.
This one didn’t have as much footage but still got the point across. Thank you again and thanks for watching the channel. 👍🏼

Mark Smith from JBS? I took one of his rifle courses 3-4 years ago. Great guy!
Congrats! Well deserved.
Congratulations Ray!🎉
Wasnt familiar with this type of competition, nice to see
5:18 rolling through like a damn freight train! You should come to 2 gun at Zoo City in December! I’m trying to get Josh to make it.
Thanks Kalashman! Maybe next time. No more matches for me until 2025! 👍🏼
@ I’ll hold you to that, Josh most definitely will, you know he wears his heart on his sleeve
CONGRATULATIONS RAY
Good stuff and actually that looks like something many might be interested in doing.

You had to get the win for the spinner with pistol.
Awesome!
Congrats RoboRay!!!

Awesome job. Congratulations. Maybe you can shame Josh into coming out a bit more next year... I think he'd really enjoy himself.
Surprised you weren’t running the Zeiss s3 4-25 on your rifle. I have one and it seems to be the perfect dmr optic
Way to go Ray! Awesome shooting. Those transitions are pretty hard. How many hours did you have to train for it?
It was a tough match.

@@XRING That doesn’t make you sound like a wet work guy at all.
@@XRINGcompletely unrelated, but i can not find an answer. Why do OTF knives all have holes or groves in the spine of the blade?
@ that is merely aesthetics for Microtech.
It has just been a long standing tradition for them.
The holes are not necessary and not on all blade configurations.
@XRING thank you sir. My daughter asked and i couldn't really find an answer.

Almost everyone that I know including myself does a 50 yard zero. That applies to almost all of your PRS and NRL22x shooters. 👍🏼
@@XRING Thanks Ray. I appreciate it. PS Still enjoying the knife! Thanks.
Hi Ray, what spotting scope do you use for your competitions?
I use the Swarovski STR-80 with the digital reticle. It’s an investment though. 😅
@ you get what you pay for. I’m looking for a duel hunting/target spotter with a reticle and there aren’t that many options with alpha glass. I’ll have to try one.
It’s one of the best I have used. However, it might be a little too bulky for hunting..
@ no free lunch. I’m trying to find one expensive spotter that works for both. Might have to spring for two hehe
❤❤. Anyone got an approximate ROUND COUNT????????? Thanks in Advance ❤😊
Ray do you teach any classes up at VOD? Or any where for a fellow competitor (new) needing some pointers.
They don’t allow teaching out there but we just need to meet up one day.
What caliber is usually used on this type of competition?
5.56 mainly. However, there is the Open division that allows anything. Primarily, 6arc, GT, Creedmoor, 6max, etc.
Is sub 1 MOA good enough to compete here ?
For sure! I would say a 2 Moa rifle could still do it for the most part.

Trump sending you to Middle East to get them straightened out...seriously nice job as always..pretty sure you always finish first
What calibers are you shooting?
I shot the 6max for Open division. Most people just use the 5.56 for Tactical division.
What's mean DMR ?
Designated Marksman Rifle .
