    I did something similar to this growing up. I'd intentionally take the bad shot to get the guy to sprawl and go for the headlock. Instead of the high crotch to drag like you Cary, I'd step through, hit my butt so the guy's weight would drop and turn the corner quickly; very similar to your demonstration. It was incredibly effective. It was something I used in a very sly and sneaky way to get an easy two points. Young people, pay attention to what Cary is teaching here. Practice it over and over and it will work

    Fireman's carry is my favorite move. However, when it fails, I end up in this position and have to scramble. I never that about shucking the arm over. Thanks.

    Good teaching. I think weight may also be a factor. Thanks!

    Would this technique be modified at all for sports in which the hands can lock around the neck without an arm, i.e. Catch/BJJ/MMA?

    Cary how would you do this if it was same position but opponent has hands locked super tight and is sprawled out nice and you might get guillotined ??

    • @KOLATCOM
      @KOLATCOM  7 місяців тому +2

      If your setup and timing are right and you can change direction on a dime without telegraphing what you are doing, it doesn't matter how tight the lock is you will be able to slip out. This type of timing only comes with drilling and situation wrestling over and over again. Guillotines are not allowed in wrestling so we have not developed any defense for that.
