    Sorry about the terrible audio balancing. The video gets a bit loud at 17:03 fair warning! This was my first video and I didn't realize the issue when editing. If anyone knows how I can fix this after posting please comment here and let me know! Thanks!😬

    The idea of making the roof shingles like that was pure brilliance ! Great build that looks amazing. Your videos are instructional, educational, fun and very entertaining.

    It looks good, only thing that I can see is that the stonework looks to be level with the trim up against it rather than more recessed. Not sure if it actually is or isn't, but most of the video seems to have it the same depth there. The other thing is that the balcony looks like it ought to have a bit more in the way of supports.
    Also, a very easy way to improve the black wash is to swap the paint you're using in it for the acrylic ink options. A lot of craft stores have it near their art brushes. It tends to mix far better with the water and doesn't seem to settle as much. It also starts out as more of a liquid than most acrylic paints which is better for that use.

    I really enjoyed this build. Per your request for suggestions; I would have made it more for game play rather than just looks. I probably would have used cut-away sections (roof and side walls) held together with magnets to the first floor and second floor.. I would have made the balcony larger, enough for about 6 minis to fit for an encounter. If I'm going to make a terrain piece just for looks, I'd rather just make the front face of the building and maybe the sides. My point is that when I make terrain, I try to build terrain in such a way that the player's minis have somewhere to interact with or explore the terrain. a stairway leading to the balcony would be a great spot for an encounter outside the manor. Perhaps add something to the manor that the PC's could use a grappling hook on, or specifically place vines leading directly up to a window, etc.

    Just a little tip for you - use a slimey green colour in small areas on the stone work to make it look like moss or lichen has grown on the building, maybe even a little static grass to represent an odd few grass seeds that has blown on the roof and germinated. Great building, awesome video.

    Thats beautiful. I am doing one but bigger and I am doing an inn/tavern diorama...medieval kind of (fantasy) but I broke my arm so I am just looking for ideas...I really like that extruded polystyrene your using its well versatile. Jewellery bits and, believe it or not Nail Art decorations are amazing for miniatures.

    This is a really nice build and a very instructional presentation. Great job! One suggestion, I'm with you on cutting shingles as thin as possible, but save the wire brush on 'em until after they're glued down. I hang my shingles with wood glue. Takes a little more time, but they're rock hard after and you can do your wire brush for texture then. Just a suggestion.

    MATE! I've just found your channel, I hit subscribe straight away just based on your thumb nails... Good move on my part!
    I'm not a gamer, but I love making model kits and dioramas (someone my channel if you're interested?) - anyway as I said I am not a gamer but I've come to really enjoy the build style and look that you and others use. Myself, I tend to build in a more realistic style but I'm pretty determined to try out the fantasy look (fantasy is how I describe your style). I'm probably going to spend some time studying what you and others do and get to it myself! Really looking forward to seeing more of what you do mate, cheers 👍👍

    • @ScatterCraft
      @ScatterCraft  4 роки тому

      Ha. I forgot to mention that in the edit. I wanted this piece to be either a large manor house or an inn depending on what I needed at the time. I really thought about a sign but I didn't want to lose that modularity. Nice catch!

    Another great build, I'd spend a night there [but as I'm not a gamer, I'm not sure what to expect!]. Around 6:30 With black walls and blue trim it reminded me of an 80's action TV show where some digitised object would appear in the real world... pics.filmaffinity.com/Automan_TV_Series-409585786-large.jpg
