He never learned to take responsibility for his actions! His parents didn't help him by always getting him out of trouble, instead of letting him face the consequences.
Agreed. Parents need to stop cleaning up their grown children’s messes or it’ll only get worse.. as we’ve seen time and time again on this channel and other true crime stories.. not cool.
Absolutely! Parents who truly love their children and want them to not only be prepared for the real world but also be successful, have to teach their children responsibility. Children are a reflection of their parents and how they raised them (not always but the majority of the time). When I see kids or teenagers disrespecting adults and their parents, I don’t look down on the kids.. it’s the parents who’ve enabled this type of behavior.
His father hates him and is embarrassed by him. The mother still defends him... So that probably explains his sense of entitlement, mommy spoiled him absolutely rotten to make up for daddy hating him and together they created an idiot monster.
She wasn't "aggressive" or "defensive" as he said. She was hysterical. That was the word he was struggling to produce during the interview. You see, people become hysterical when drunk men break into their homes late at night to murder them.
the term/word "hysterical" is entirely misogynistic due to its history and Id appreciate if you could stop using it to describe women rightfully being afraid of men who threathen and take their lives
@@saskiar.7395 I'm pretty sure Prepared Survivalist used the word hysterical to imply that's exactly what someone who's a woman beater and an all round misogynist would say. The only reason he didn't say it in front of the detective is he knows that it's a term assholes like him use.
Listen to this case on “Southern Fried Crime”; she gives a lot of background on his family dynamics. Dysfunctional for sure especially compared to Yeardley’s stable and nurturing family life. Not that his dysfunctional background excuses what he did but it does shed some light on how he ended up being such a loser.
I work at a resort.. we see women all the time who are here specifically to get away from abuse. Some men too. exactly! He had told her that he was coming over. She specifically locked her door.. probably thinking that would stop or deter him. She must have been so scared. :(
The narrator is right when he said this is a result of bad parenting. When u watch him after he finds out she died, he stuffers like a child. Its like he just found out that there are real consequences to actions. He throws a tantrum and repeats himself like a 4 year old.
I wonder if Mr and Mrs Hughley have any remorse about raising a giant, violent 4 year old man-baby, or if they’ve made excuses and blamed Yardly for setting off their son.

It seems to me a foregone conclusion that someone who has a history of escalating violence, out of control drinking, and little to no accountability for the behavior will eventually seriously injure or kill someone. This guy belongs in the Self-Snitching Hall of Fame. He's so spoiled that he legit didn't think it was a big deal to kick in his ex's door, and beat her to death, because he "wanted to talk to her". The only good thing about this is that even his daddy's deep pockets couldn't get him acquitted.
It baffles me how he thought he could sit there and tell the interrogator how he just pushed her and shook her a few times because she was “like freaking out and stuff” and he just wanted to talk to her and he did that to calm her down. And he actually seems to think they will be okay with that. Like yah sure we understand you have to do that sometimes to calm down and excited person. Thank you for mentioning the statistics on the prevalence of violence and abuse in young relationships. I was in an abusive relationship in high school, and finally called the cops to seek help but since his friend was there, my ex shaped the narrative making it look like I was suicidal and crazy because I had cuts on my wrists. He never suffered any consequences for these actions and I should have went further in getting justice. This is a sad story - alcohol is terrible and brings out the worst in people. RIP Love
I heard a comment once about teenage "love" that has stuck with me. Their brains are not developed enough to handle the strong pull of first-love. Looking back, I was there. A 4 year relationship with a spoiled young man abuser. 40 years later, he still drinks and criticises me for breaking up with him. So I've heard. Plus, he abused his wife. University in another city, and my mom helped yo get me out of it after highschool graduation. Perhaps it was the wonderful Grace of God.
Been surrounded by alcoholics my whole life. Violent alcoholic parents. They never remembered the details of the nights which were horrific to me and my brother. They smashed our phones and snapped our laptops in half not remembering why but knowing they did it the night before. They wake up looking at us and feeling guilty because they knew we spent our summers working saving up for that phone or laptop. They replace it.. then I learn materials don’t matter it’s about people around you . When people are drunk and get violent they don’t realize their strength... they go into a rage they throw glass vases at you and you have to pull out the glass pieces from your bare feet and when they wake up they don’t know why you’re limping with bandages on your feet. Alcoholism is a real disease people. Get the ones you love some help and understand it’s a serious disease they need serious help. And you need to get away from them. That’s all

I think the parents can be blamed, but only to a point. Imo, those who witnessed him abusing women so publicly are equally, if not more to blame. The parents may have raised him, but the people who watched him abuse those girls could have stopped it and prevented Yeardley's death. It would have taken only one of them to pick up the phone and report him. They are to blame for turning a blind eye.

I as well. At 16 was in a very toxic relationship, my first ever boyfriend. He would hit me if he had a bad day. I didn't have to do or say anything. He was the captain of our senior football and basketball team. So happy my parents started to see something and made me stop dating him. He ended up on drugs and beating his next girlfriend. She was pregnant by him and he beat that baby out of her. I remember feeling quilty because I should have warned her.
He seems like he never had boundaries, accountability or learned to respect people saying No. What a POS, poor woman I feel so sorry for her and her family.

The female detective who led the interrogation was a true pro, just totally cold and relentless with him. She didn't inform him that Yeardley had died until after he had said enough to bury himself in court, and she did it in a way that broke him to maximum effect. Every now and then, I rewatch the end of the interrogation video just to see him crumble into a whiny pathetic little mess all over again.
I think he knew he killed her when he did it, but dissociated when he sobered up unable to accept what he did. He threw her back in bed so he could tell himself she was okay. He should have gotten life.
"She hides in the corner aggressively.. defensive" Well.. you just busted down her door. And I think she was probably cowering in the corner terrified, not aggressive. Also, I don't think he knew he killed her. He went in there drunk and in a rage, beat her and then left not knowing the extent of her injuries. He was an abusive alcoholic and he was bound to kill someone in a rage sooner or later. Throw the whole man away.

What exactly does this have to do with “rich a-holes they surely know “ ? George is the one at fault here, not his family. People have a tendency to blame criminals parents, even more so when they are well off. We don’t know his family, we don’t know his parents. They should not have to do anything. Especially create a foundation, because their son made an awful decision with his life. That’s his responsibility, and his burden to pay for now. Not his families. Just because a family is wealthy does not mean they were bad parents, or that they are responsible for their child’s actions. Sometimes people are just shitty, and sometimes people make mistakes. Some worse than others.
@@RubberDucky80 I agree that it is on George. There are a whole lot of other people aware of his escalating alcohol problem and the waysquestion he was having problems with alcohol in college, possibly before. People like to stereotype rich and poor people. However, I believe there’s a little bit of truth in both cases. Some people assume that if you’re poor, you are dirty and lazy. I grew up poor and we were neither dirty or lazy. My father was disabled because of health issues he sustained during WWII (I was the youngest of 6 so they were in their 40s when they had me) and my mother had her hands full trying to take care of us. Maybe they should have practiced birth control. Maybe they should have done a lot of things...but we were clean and well fed. Anyway, as a comparison, I knew a rich family that had children I was friends with and at their house if the dog or cat got sick or went to the bathroom on the floor, they covered it up with a paper towel. They had a maid so instead of taking care of it themselves, they just let it sit there sometimes for several days until the maid was scheduled to come and clean. Now I’m sure someone else can put an example in these comments that refute my example. I guess my point is there are all types of people no matter what your social status is. The important thing is the time you spend with your children. The lessons you teach them. After awhile, it’s the individual who has to take the blame or credit.
It's absolutely chilling to hear him describing how he's holding her, and she's banging her head against the wall. He's holding her, and she's flopping around. At some point she gets on the floor. Her nose starts bleeding. As if all of these movements are things she's doing. As if there's no catalyst for her body moving from one place to another, as if there's nothing causes the bruises and blood to appear. He's so drunk and angry, he doesn't even know that his hands are on her, he doesn't even realize that he's presumably shaking her hard enough to hit her head against the wall, that he's throwing her around the room. He sees her flailing and doesn't realize it's because he's doing anything but talking. He describes her as defensive but even as he describes their bodies physically entangled in his violent assault, he uses passive language or at best "we were wrestling". The way he's talking doesn't sound like he's lying, he sounds like an angry drunk with no awareness and a startling sense of entitlement. He even accurately describes her literally pleading with him to leave, it's audible in the tone he's using, the way she frantically repeated "you need to leave, you need to leave, you need to leave", but he's so self absorbed that he doesn't even hear that he's incriminating himself. It's horrifying but an enlightening insight into what an alcohol fueled rage looks like from the inside. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Edit: Okay I have more to say. First of all, I typed this in the heat of the moment (this video is evidence that people have done worse in the heat of the moment, so don't @ me) but from the later conversation the detective makes it clear that he did indeed beat her head against the wall, so yeah, he was absolutely just in a drunken haze. I think the reason he said he never punched her that night and never choked her the last time he assaulted her is because, I would bet, it was the one thing on his mind, it was the urge he was wanting to hold back so it's stuck in him mind that he couldn't have done that. I believe every single word he said, not that they accurately reflect the actual facts, but that they represent the way he perceived the events. I truly believe he didn't know she died, and the denial is his cognitive dissonance. It's him learning for the first time in his life that his actions have consequences and struggling with that notion. There are so many of this dude out there. Fuck this video has got me going.
I completely agree with everything you've said. Very well put. This man, no this boy, couldn't even comprehend what was happening, even after the drunkenness was gone. And he's so full of himself that he didn't comprehend how or why she was so afraid of him. It's so sad what the consequences of spoiling your kids and telling them how special they are while never allowing them to receive or experience repercussions for their bad actions.. this is such a saddening yet perfect example of what happens when you basically neglect your kids mental growth because your rich and just focus on giving them everything they want..
You're absolutely correct. A violent 200lbs man is not 'wreastling' with a 110lbs girl on the ground..he's attacking and overpowering her, she's at his mercy. One of the most chilling things he said was in response to the detective asking 'was she screaming?' He casually replies 'she should have been'. It makes me think that he punched her so hard in the beginning that she was too dazed to scream for help. Though if she had, that would've made him shake and hit her harder to stop her from screaming, to assuage his own ego into thinking that what he was doing wasn't that big of a deal. Unfortunately that didn't help her. Thank God his money and position didn't save him from justice. Imagine if he had enough brain cells to deny the whole event.. with the right attorneys and jury he might have escaped justice and gone on to kill other unsuspecting girls.

Agreed. Parents need to stop cleaning up their grown children’s messes or it’ll only get worse.. as we’ve seen time and time again on this channel and other true crime stories.. not cool.
He sounds like a psychopath who's used to abusing people since prep school.
Exactly right!

Spoil s child. Spoil a life.
We offer "incognito" status, personal deliveries to the room so they don't have to leave if they don't want to, and will heavily monitor traffic throughout the lobby to ensure their abusers aren't lingering around. He never suffered any consequences for these actions and I should have went further in getting justice. This is a sad story - alcohol is terrible and brings out the worst in people. RIP Love

That’s all

Well.. you just busted down her door.

I agree that education is key to help with the problem of DV. I think it should be taught in high schools to both girls AND boys! Knowledge=power
George's family needs to make a foundation for alcohol abuse and teaching consequences to the rich a-holes they surely know.
Poor people are asshole too
@@RubberDucky80 I agree that it is on George. There are a whole lot of other people aware of his escalating alcohol problem and the waysquestion he was having problems with alcohol in college, possibly before. Yet as far as we know he wasn’t strongly offered any help with that. I did hear the lacrosse team was going to have some sort of intervention AFTER the playoffs. I come from a long line of alcoholics

I feel for her that she only knew obsessive love and nothing else from a man{boy}...so sad.
She hurried up an pulled that chair up making sure he didn't erase nothing
And how did her shirt come off? He had nothing to explain that..
@@cancelthis3891 💯
