I can't wait for the rest of this trip. Seriously your channel is some of the most compelling and well produced adventure content anywhere, take it to the next level.
Funny how you can just stumble across a channel and be immediately drawn in, kindred spirits I suppose. You have a new sub sir, brilliant productions...🎬👏👏👏
Nice video in a lovely area. Thanks Ray. Just planning my route for the 2023 TGO Challenge and will be passing the Linn of Dee so will be looking at the maps to see if I can work out where you were.
When my wife and I done the TGO many years ago we come in from A9 and back of House of Bruar over the back and camped at Bynack Lodge. Then next day into Braemar campsite which is long, long road walk. Hope you have a great time. Atb
Its great to watch your saunters and listen to your guidance. I love the sound of rain in the tent. Look forward to you future videos. It would be great to see you in the Galloway hills. Jamie.
Great route, great loch and camp spot, the bike deffo helps though. Something very relaxing about cooking on meths, suits the solitude I always think. I was looking forward to a 4am battering sequence tho ?! ATB A
Hi Ray, great to see you out in the Cairngorms. I would so love to be able to have access here as its my favourite place. Really enjoyed seing this location and your explanation and thought along the way... I was looking for more extremes of weather on the tent I must admit... ATB Tom
Sat on Monadh Mor watching the sun go down in a cloudless sky. Visibility exceptional. Day 5 of an 8 day Cairngorms backpacking trip. Hope you're doing well Ray - we thought of you
Nice laid back vid Ray, nice watch… one of my favourite places, it’s a fair old trek in though as you say. , cracking footage as usual… heading up next week… ATB 👍
I've used speedster stoves for about 2yrs now, I really like and rate them. Used mine at Scales Tarn in the lakes last weekend in the plex solo. Gusting 50mph winds and still got a good boil. Great bit of kit and great video 👌
Another great video Ray, I said it on Murray's video, but I really need to visit this Southern approach, it looks significantly better than the more northern routes, though they are much shorter! Magnificent scenery! The whole time you were inhaling that shortbread, I was thinking "DUNK IT" haha!
Fab as always. 👍 I use Ekofuel (have you tried it, cleaner burn) with my trangia camping triangle, I never liked the smell of Meths 🤣 too many reminder of soggy scout camps 😩.
Good to see a camping vid Ray , I do like the slower pace of using a meths burner and so much quieter than gas 😂 lovely area with stunning views and well filmed , hope your well atb Dave
Good to see you back on the camping trail, was this the trip where you bumped into Murray? we caught him in the car park on his return and he was telling us he seen you up in this area. Just back myself from there, did a 3 day hike through to loch Aan and back via carrour bothy, video will be out soon just takes forever to get them edited as im sure your fully aware.
The weather is crazy everywhere, here we have 37-40 and we have 2 hot months ahead, the problem is that the night hours the temperature is not dropping below 27-30 like the past years.
I just wanted you to know that Ian, my Cairn terrier, was riveted. He wanted to be walking along with you. He never took his eyes off the screen till the video is over.
Evening! What was the tent and stove used in this? Cheers for the wonderful video mate, just followed you for the IG shots as well. (Been a long time coming.) :) atb
It was a Speedster stove setup with an Alpkit 600 mug. The tent is one of only a handful made and as such cant get them now. Was made by a guy in China called JumperHome who sadly passed away last year. I have kindly borowed the tent to use for research purposes.
@@RS.Outdoors Cheers! I'll be looking into that stove for sure. And ah right, I remember reading about that. What a shame.. thanks for getting back to me. :)
You can go up towards Derry Cairngorm summit opposite the Mountian rescue station. Then along over the tops and alongside Mcdui then down towards the loch and back out low level the way I walked in. Seen lots of folks with mountain bikes coming off later that night.

There's nothing quite like the sound of raindrops on your tent. :-) Thanks for another great video, Ray!
Very true and thanks for watching. Atb
Good stuff Ray, can't beat an overnighter in the Gorms. Speedster Stoves is the way forward, or alcohol burners anyway. Had mine for years now.
Yeh, think I will use it for the rest of the year and see how it goes.
@@RS.Outdoors bit slow, otherwise I really can't think of any other draw backs.

Great chilled out video Ray. What is the alcohol stove set up you use there. The windshield set up looks interesting and one I’ve not seen before.

do you know if you can do a circular walk/bike ride there?
