    Putting a 1911 nib on that seems like sacrilege

    Nice filling system! The fully transparent design which is great, would’ve lured me more a couple of years ago. All my pens tend to become knockabout pens, and a bit of semi-transparence would divert my eyes from the messy look that quickly develops. Opus 88 has some attractive alternatives.
    Urushi treatment might be an option maybe? A pattern that could be nice also when worn and weathered.

      You're right, and I'm sure there will be ink stains eventually. Urushi could be very interesting! I know one artist has already ordered some of these to experiment with.

    Majohn denies its Japanese origins. Shutting vale was a common designs around 1920s found in Waterman, Eversharp, etc.

    Also Sailor profit’s steel nib can fit on majohn c4?

      @fudefan  Рік тому +1

      Do you mean the new Profit Casual nibs? I believe those are the same size as Profit Standard and PG Slim gold nibs, which are #5.5-ish, a bit too small. You can fit a Jowo #6 nib on these pens, though.

    majohn and moonman are different brands or same ?

    • @fudefan
      @fudefan  Рік тому +7

      Same. Moonman rebranded to Majohn after a trademark dispute with Kaweco. For more on this, listen to Tokyo Inklings episode 38.

    Isn't that a vacuum fill pen instead of eyedropper?

    • @fudefan
      @fudefan  Рік тому +1

      It is a Japanese-style eyedropper., not a vac filler.

    Japanese invented the shut valve? If not, stop stealing name of common designs. Btw, Majohn is very Chinese. And there is currently none Japanese making eye dropper in such style.

      Thanks for your comment. I'd recommend Binder's website and Sunami-san's book if you want to know more about inki-dome eyedroppers.
