I mean are many of the greats in most music genres not given their flowers until its too late? I heard Jill Scott all the way in China and was hooked instantly 20+ years ago. You can't deny this skill at all.
This recording is awesome but there is nothing like a live performance. I literally felt her voice roll over my skin when she sang this live during an amphitheater performance.

Hello, OMG I love what you do..... I can't sing a NOTE but I believe I have an ear. I also thought that she played the Harp. This would explain her movements. Even if not I truly do believe, she works her body, chest, abdomen. Even being bent in a position causes the air to escape differently. Genius you and her both.

I always loved this performance. I was about 8/9 years old when I fell in love with this woman! I heard her say she was inspired by Kathleen Battle during her classical training.

She had a whole orchestra behind her, that's a lot of music coming from behind you, it can usually overwhelm a singer these days, they used to sound tracks and digital music. Some can't handle a live band behind them let alone a whole string orchestra. She put her foot in this, twisted it and then twerk walked on that stage. I'm addicted to this clip all month.
I remember going to see her at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby Pa. When I tell you I could not sit down the whole time. She is beyond amazing. I think I was like 18 or 19 when I saw her. She even sung opera. I was amazed.
There are so many, but "He Loves Me" is one of my all time favorite Jill Scott songs.

She is definately a whole instrument. Using her whole body, mind and soul to express her visual through her vocal chords. Totally God's imprint of her originality. That's what makes her stand out her creative originality. I didn't understand early about 2001 when she came out winnint these nominations for her 1st album, where she was coming from, I feel she is so original .That creativeness is a freshenss. But that was 21 years ago it has seasoned, because no one is trying to sound like her, like the many Whitney's and Mariah clone's.😅🤣 She is definately great in her on zone.
