YAY, you made mama's yogurt chicken! It looks good and that looked like a perfect fall meal...I haven't made that yogurt chicken in forever but maybe I'll try it this week. And the chicken wrapped up in tortillas for the air fryer might be a good idea for me to try, gotta practice with my air fryer more! Always fun to eat out and get together with friends. I need to plan my menu for this upcoming week and see if I have what I need for yogurt chicken! Thanks for all the food ideas, come plan my meals for me!

Delicious looking meals as always Stacy! Your chicken burritos looked yummy! The Chinese meal you made is very similar to my chicken chow mein which I put instant Asian noodles in. I've never liked Brussel sprouts and have never cooked them since my Dad used to give them to us overcooked! Lol I'm making a zucchini and bacon quiche for dinner tonight! I get a Misfits Market Box and we get probably 80 percent of our fresh fruits and vegetables from our box. They have changed and you choose everything in your box with a $30 minimum per box. I know you got a box a while back and were not impressed with the quality of the items in your box. We have gotten at least 2 boxes per month since 4/2020. In all that time we have only gotten 2 items in our box that was past its prime. Our box yesterday was beautiful. I got a pineapple, fresh pears, apples, tuscan kale, butter lettuce, fresh spinach, fresh green beans, scallions, green peppers, celery, yukon gold potatoes, 2 beefsteak tomatoes and brussels sprouts. I think that was all I got this time. It was $39 for this box. We eat so many more fruits and vegetables since I started getting our Misfits box. Happy Belated Birthday and Happy Halloween. We did trick or treating last night here in our town. It was cool and rainy and we did not have any kids stop by. Everything looked delicious as always.

@Donna Gribbins - Hi Donna! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching! I'm so glad that Misfits is working so well for you and Mark. No, I will not be ordering from them again after our fiasco. I'm much better off to go to the local stores and pick my own produce and try to shop seasonally here. After the condition of our produce, it feels like a waste to spend that money and roll the dice on the condition of it, after it gets down to where we live. I'm glad it works for you though! That's a lot of great fruit and veggies, lots of yummy meals for you guys ahead. :) Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Yes, I'm one of the wok coveters. HOWEVER I have a "new" never-used vintage electric one I located on ebay, which is exactly the same as the one I wore out decades ago. If you ever see one of those beautiful Target woks, PLEASE alert us! Your meals are inspiring as usual. Like another commenter, the salads are really impressive. I do fresh veggies all winter because I order from Misfits Market and Imperfect Foods. The roasted sprouts and sweets are right up my alley. Hubby loves a shingled sweet potato/apple/onion bake I invented. I actually prefer winter foods. You strike me as a true Proverbs 31 woman. Thanks for the inspiration!

    • @LetsCookYall
      @LetsCookYall  2 роки тому

@mixedupjo - Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching again this week! LOL, wok coveter!! How cool to find one in a never-used condition like the one you loved and used so much. I'm firmly in the camp of "they don't make 'em like they used to", so I'm betting your vintage wok will hold up and last a lot longer than anything that's been made in the last 5-10 years. So glad you are enjoying the content and especially the salads :) I love to load them up, that's for sure, LOL! I'm so glad you have good luck with both Misfits and Imperfect, that's awesome. You are so sweet, thank you for the kind comments and lovely words (I strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman, as well as have a servant heart, but it is hard most days). @Kathy Holberton - Hi Kathy! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching, and for answering our "question of the day"!! You are SO lucky to have baby bok choy available. I have looked and looked and never see any here. Kroger, occasionally, has some large bok choy, but never the smaller and more tender baby variety. I must admit, I have never cooked it, but love to order it out at one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. I try to get the rest of my green vegetables with the ones you mentioned (green beans, cabbage or brussel sprouts, and my favorite of all, broccoli! LOL!). Hi Stacy and Tim! Haven't watched today's video yet, but waiting for it watched your one from last Christmas. Have to repeat: eager to try your Christmas morn tradition! Thank you for sharing. (Quick question out of no way: do you ever batch cook, Stacy? Asking because I got ambitious a bit ago: made stuffed peppers, taco soup, potato salad, biscuits plus some prepackaged Reuben bites ...these last to enjoy while watching the game. Don't often do it, but guess I was in the mood today and besides had to empty out the freezer and fridge a bit. Went a little crazy shopping this week! I figure I cooked enough meals today for the next 3 days. Still working hard at not cooking for an army tho. Has always been the two of us, but for some reason, I've always cooked way too much and we end up with leftovers forever. Think I did better today, tho...you must be a good influence!). OK, now, on to today's video.

@JuJu Bi - Hey JuJu! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching this week! Yes, my birthday was a couple of weeks ago (we splurged and got a huge spread of take-out Greek food, so good!). Our church does have this huge community event for fall and Halloween. It was cancelled last year because of Covid, but came back bigger and better this year! I think it was estimated that we had over 1500 people. Kids could come, play all of the games they wanted, ride all of the rides and jump on the inflatables, and get all of the candy they wanted, for free :) We had a lot of kids that came through many times in our little game and it was so fun!! Yum! I am making pulled pork next weekend, I always make coleslaw with it I will for sure be putting some pickles and pickle juice in it! Can't wait to try it! My grandchildren love Chinese food , this week we made chicken fried rice and egg rolls for our dinner date. It is finally getting chilly here so I think tomorrow will be homemade chicken noodle soup day. I also like to make a good harvesty (made up word LOL) salad with dried cranberries and pecans or walnuts, I think I will also try your honey mustard dressing. Thanks for some wonderful ideas. Have a lovely week!

@Nancy Osgood - Hi Nancy!! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching! Hooray for fried rice and egg rolls with your grandkids! My favorite food, plus it makes my heart so happy to know that you are able to do this and make such wonderful memories with them. It's just awesome!! I love soups in the fall and winter, and a good homemade chicken noodle cannot be beat! If you like pickles, then definitely try adding a few to your cole slaw (gotta have some slaw with pulled pork, I agree!). I'm a dill fanatic, so I love dill pickles and put them in everything I can. That's the beauty of cooking though - if you don't like pickles, then just leave them out!! Oh, and my favorite "harvest" salad is apples, walnuts (or pecans), chunks of cheddar and some Craisins. It's so good!! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Loved this week's video. Have a couple of chicken breasts to use with that yogurt recipe later this week. Everything looked great, but I'm glad I watched this after I had already eaten. • @LetsCookYall

@Ella Toler - Hi Ella!! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching this week. Yikes, a ruptured tendon sounds incredibly painful - are you in a cast or sling or brace? I bet that is going to take a while to heal and feel better, and regain use of your hand. Mine is manageable now, still a bit of an issue, but I don't let it deter me from too much. I still doing exercises almost daily and since I added a turmeric supplement with my daily vitamin, I noticed quite a bit of difference. I do hope your hand heals quickly, and you feel better soon :) Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Hi Stacy!! I keep meaning to comment (as we’ve never stopped watching!). How did Tim like the yogurt chicken? I’m intrigued to try it at our home. Thank you again for being a blessing in all you do- I’m always looking forward to Sunday at 2pm and love your bonus content. ❤️ also… we had cheeseburger wraps tonight. 🙃

@Amanda Belt - HEY THERE Amanda! I'm jumping up and down to see this comment from you! I thought you and Nick had moved on to greener pastures or were just busy, since we hadn't heard from you in a while. I'm so happy to hear you are still alive and well 😂😜 Hooray for the cheeseburger wraps, those are definitely one of my MOST favorite things in the world (right up there with the Crockpot Chicken Santa Fe!). To answer your question about the yogurt chicken - no, Tim didn't love it, LOL! It's a very nostalgic thing for me, because my mom used to make it for me, plus it is a bit on the healthier side (which doesn't appeal to him as much as it does to me). It is definitely a dish that is better to eat hot out of the oven, as it doesn't heat up quite as well because of the yogurt sauce. But I love it, since it brings back so many memories of my mom, and I was happy to eat the leftovers :) Hope you guys have a great week! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Hi guys! Hope y’all had a fun Halloween weekend! We took a nice, low-key trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico which we always enjoy. Your food looks great, as always. I have a similar rice cooker, and I’ve never once tried that steamer basket. I should totally try that…. do you ever use it to steam veggies? I’m intrigued by the yogurt chicken, sounds yummy! Your church puts on quite an event, looks like a blast! 🎃

@Our 80's Life - Hey Abby! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by this week, especially after I saw about y'alls fabulous vacay to Santa Fe!! Looks like a great (swanky!) place where y'all stayed, lots of good food and fun. Totally jealous, LOL!! To answer your question, I tend to only use my rice cooker for rice (duh, but oddly enough, the brown rice setting went out on mine so I can only do white rice in mine, have to drag out the big IP for brown), or to steam dumplings or potstickers. I haven't ever tried to steam veggies like broccoli or whatever. If you try it, I'd love to know if it worked!! The yogurt chicken is a total throwback to my sweet mom, so it is incredibly nostalgic for me. I feel like it's fairly healthy (since it's from a heart healthy cookbook), but Tim was (predictably) not thrilled with it. I enjoyed it though! Our church had a great fall festival, I think about 1500 people were on campus, it was huge! Free games, free rides and inflatables, free music on the stage with live bands, and free candy for the kiddos, what's not to love?! Hope y'all get some rest after your fun trip and have a wonderful week!! Hugs ---Stacy 😍💚

Lol, that’s so funny saying you’re turning into your mother. My mother never measured…unless it was specific for baking…and she taught me how to make things with directions like ‘some of this, some of this, more of this, then it should look/taste like this, then you cook it until it’s done.’ My mom was a fantastic cook, who left this world much too young, miss her every day. People will ask me for some of her recipes that I bring to potlucks or holiday dinners…and I always have to say, ‘well, there really isn’t a recipe, but you can come over next time I make it and I’ll show you how’ and I show them the same way my mom showed me, lol. I’ve had at least 5 people take me up on the offer and come over and learn how to cook some of her specialities. So glad I found your channel, I’m really enjoying it! Re: Produce: When we lived in California, fresh produce, the best you’ve ever had, was available year round. As someone who grew up in the Midwest and lived in the South for 13 years, this was amazing (it also, unlike a lot of things in CA, was pretty inexpensive, especially since there were so many farmer markets.) Back in the Midwest now, and I will rely on frozen vegetables more during the winter. I’m not a fan of fruit, but my husband will eat canned (he’ll eat anything, lol.) We had a small garden this year as an experiment, and plan to make a big one next year (we’re in a full 4 season climate.) My mom had one and used to can any extra…I don’t remember the specifics of canning, but I plan to learn. Especially since being in CA, and the produce being right out of the field, I want that here as much as I can, and food prices just keep rising, so every little bit helps.

@Molly Dye - Hi Molly, and welcome!! Thank you so much for stopping by our channel, and for taking the time to watch and leave us a comment. We are so glad you are here, and we hope that you will enjoy the content on our channel. 💖💜 It sounds like both of our mothers were from the same school of not measuring! I definitely think the more confidence I gain, the more I experiment, and the more I learn about taste, texture, how food should look and taste, that I am becoming more like her. That's awesome that you have been able to help share the love of food, recipes and cooking that your mama instilled in you and pass it on to others and hopefully the next generation. I'm firmly in the camp that a lot of cooking and baking is getting to be a lost art. We know so many people that just want to buy everything already cooked or prepared, and they don't really want to even learn the basics of cooking. How awesome to be in a place and position to have a garden and learn to can and put up your own food. We are not in that position here, and honestly, I'm about to the point in my life where I'm not interested in adding all of that work, but I applaud everyone who does that (another lost art, more than likely). Every little bit does help these days, because food prices seem to be skyrocketing. I see it every time I go to the grocery store or a restaurant. It's getting crazy!! Thanks again for stopping by, and for the wonderful comments, Molly! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@@LetsCookYall You’re very welcome! And thank you for all the great content you have! I agree that cooking and baking from scratch is getting to be a lost art, and it isn’t that hard, and doesn’t take that long (for many things!) Plus you get to control what goes into it, and make it exactly how you want it! My mother gardened like crazy, and I never had much interest in it, but when we bought our house, I thought, I can’t let all the work this lady did on this beautiful garden go to ruin! I discovered that I actually was enjoying learning about what plants were what (and thankfully, I have a friend who loves to garden and could tell me what things were and how to take care of them) and I’ve found weeding to be extremely cathartic!!! My husband and I are both retired, so we have the time to work on a vegetable garden next year, and we’re grateful we have the space…nothing enormous, probably about 10x12 feet that we will use, but still more than many have. If the canning thing doesn’t work out, I plan to donate the extra to food banks, friends and family so that it doesn’t go to waste. (P.S., if anyone here is a gardener, check with your local food banks to see if they will accept fresh produce donations, if you so choose, some will and some won’t.). Really enjoying your channel, and I’m glad you’re feeling more confident with cooking! It’s fun to be a little creative with things, try new recipes, make them your own using the recipe as a base, and going from there. It’s easy to see a recipe and think, it has bell peppers in it, I don’t like those, and then not use the recipe. Well, leave them out, or replace them with another flavor you do like. I used to skip so many recipes because they had an ingredient I didn’t like and it didn’t occur to me that I could leave it out, and it would still be just fine. Have a blessed day yourself!

@elaine miller - Hey Elaine! I personally think things like hot dogs, boneless chicken breasts, and pork chops are just as good out of the air fryer as they are from our outdoor gas grill. But that's me, Tim still prefers them from the grill. For pork chops, you'll definitely need an Instant Read thermometer, as every one is a different thickness. We always try to cook pork until the thermometer reaches 145 or 150, though that usually has a little bit of pink on the inside. Pork is one of those things that if you overcook it, it really dries out, so we try not to go too far. That being said, the bone-in chops I usually buy take about 18 min and boneless about 14. But I always flip and spray around the half way mark and always, ALWAYS use my thermometer to check. Hope some of that helps! Let me know how they turn out!! Have a blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Hi Stacy, your meals look great. I'm in the same rut as you regarding fresh produce. I find I buy more lettuce and tomatoes in the summer and as the weather gets colder, I buy more frozen veggies. When I buy fresh produce, I make sure I make a meal plan so I won't forget I bought fresh produce so it won't get spoiled. Have a great rest of your weeki.

@hotmama298 - Hey girl! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching again this week! I hear ya on the produce. I tend to do that year round. Much like buying flowers for flowerpots in the spring and summer, my eyes are always bigger than what I end up needing or wanting to do, LOL! I buy a ton of flowers at the nursery or garden center and then don't have enough pots or want to plant them. I see produce at the store and overbuy, then come home and sometimes even if I make a list and a plan, it is still more than I should have bought. I am actually trying to be much more intentional and better about that, but sometimes, it really is a struggle! I'm glad to have frozen and canned veggies though, once fall and winter get here!! Hope you guys are well. Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

I love your channel Stacy😊 I do eat more frozen vegetables in the winter, but for fresh I eat a lot of apples, kale, and winter squashes.

@L's Channel - Hey there! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching and for commenting! It's been a while since we've heard from you, and I hope you've been well and having a great year. I'm with you, I think I really switch to more frozen and canned veggies (and even some fruit) in the winter. I really love all of the winter squashes, but Tim really does NOT, so I don't buy and use them often. Every now and then I will get a small acorn squash just for me, but then I have to fix another side for him since winter squashes are not his thing, LOL! I love them though, roasted or just baked with some warm seasonings like brown sugar and cinnamon. And I love a good butternut squash soup, yummy!! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Hey Stacy, thank you for sharing your meals. They looked delicious. I love that you’re wearing the t-shirt that is helping someone with autism. My son Joey is autistic and he’s such a blessing to our family!

You have me so inspired this week! I made a salad with chicken, Apple, cheese and walnuts and made your homemade vinaigrette for supper on Tuesday, and tonight I’m making the same salad, less the chicken and am pairing it with roasted veggies and your mamas yogurt chicken!

@Amy Harding - Hey there Amy!! Thank you so much for stopping by, and for the wonderful comments! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the salad, I bet it was awesome with the chicken as a main course. I do love a good salad! My mama's yogurt chicken is incredibly nostalgic for me, as I remember her making it often. It's from a heart healthy cookbook, so it is not the most decadent of meals, but hopefully a bit healthier, and it definitely stays moist from the yogurt mixture. I hope you have a great dinner tonight!! Take care and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚
