- Beautiful Strawberry Roll Cake tastes & looks amazing & is great for beginner bakers! Looks difficult but it's not! Great for special occasions & for kids (tweens+) to make. GUYS, make this & make points w your significant other (trust me)!
INGREDIENTS
Butter flavor non-stick cooking spray
21oz can strawberry pie filling (blueberry or cherry are also great choices)
1 box of angel food cake mix
1 1/4 cup of water
Powdered sugar for dusting
1 pint of fresh strawberries for garnish
I typically make this cake with cherry, blueberry or strawberry pie filling. Try your favorite!

A little smokey? That's because waxed paper isn't intended to be put into the oven, let alone heated at high temperatures. Parchment is the way to go! Wax paper is moisture resistant but not heat resistant and while baking with it, the coating melts and adheres to surfaces (what causes it to burn in the oven) and the food and you then end up consuming that wax along with all the other chemicals in the boxed cake mix and the non-dairy whipped topping. But on the other hand, if you don't mind that, it's all good.

Thank you, Seygra. It’s lovely to meet you. I’ve been making this easy dessert since I was 12 years old…it’s that simple that a young person can do it on their own. I also like that it’s easily adaptable to your taste by using different fillings. You may use any canned pie filling that can be baked…cherry, blueberry, peach, etc….whatever you love. Enjoy!!! - Deb

This looks like a great recipe, but why are you baking wax paper? It literally melts.
Hello MD. This recipe was given to me almost 55 years ago and that’s how it was made at the time and how I’ve made it ever since. I don’t know that anyone was using parchment paper yet in the US at that time, at least not in common home use. You could certainly sub parchment paper in place of the wax paper. Your friends and family will be SO impressed with your Swiss Roll and you never have to tell them how easy it is. Enjoy!!! - Deb
