Regarding the auxiliary army I would suggest adding some slingers. Though they are inferior to bowmen, they have more ammo and range and are quite good to damage lightly armed troops like enemy skirmishers or low tier infantry. Good targets for them are javelineers, civillian mobs or - when fighting Greeks: Pikemen, which are not (well) shielded.
Thanks for posting these just starting to learn the mod after not playing the game for many years. Excited to start your new Carthage series after I get my feet wet with Rome
Just stumbled upon your channel. Been playing total war games forever however I’m fairly new to mods( don’t know why just never got into em) downloaded dei and got my ass handed to me 5 different times. Hopeful to learn something
Trade is mostly based on your reputation and what you can offer. Carthage does not need a trade agreement since you are not selling anything they want. Suggestion: Rome is going to be your money maker. It can make 40k+ without much effort and provide the bulk of your money. You have 13 food, which is plenty for now. Build food in the new conquered territory and go for money in Rome. Buildings take a long time to build, go for money right away. 2nd suggestion: Fleet costs a TON of money. All you need is a stack that can defend Southern Italy and keep a lookout on a possible invasion. Its better to have 2 armies, increasing your territory and economic power than defending against a faction that literally builds a TON of fleets.
What buildings with you suggest in Latium? I'm always a bit on the fence but honestly 40k sounds very good haha! Next 2 eps are prerecorded but I am writing all this down, thank you!
Im late to DEI; always liked allying with Athens/Sparta to create a strong ally in Greece. I heavily invested in them and Athens wound up w a military alliance with Sparta and defensive alliance w me by the time I held Magna Gracia and the Isles. With most of my armies fightubg Carthage, Athens sent a full stack to my northern border to deter the barbarians. I was able to push pretty far into Africa without concern. Invest in Greece
As in, numberwise? There is a setting before you start the campaign that let’s you set numbers to huge. My German is not as good as i would like it to be so maybe i am misunderstanding haha
Just gotta take time to learn the mechanics! I too, once thought as you do! Lol the key is to take your time. DEI makes vanilla seem like arcade mode lol

Ah! I agree, would be good to at least have some of them to maybe thin out the more lightly armoured units indeed! Thanks for the reminder here!

I don't think anybody has, but you get credit for trying. It's like the Silmarillion.
